@XQlusioN Thanks for the details, I'll get the team to take another look at this Portal.
@0X00FF00 I saw your post about this in another thread and I'm looking into how to get access to that thread to be able to take action on what I see in there.
That's a summit marker. They've been approved over here for as long as I can remember, and are especially common in Norway. So that's not related to PoGo nominations, I can think of several dozen similar wayspots that have been there for years. Mountain top markers used to be 5* in the old guide.
They seem to be popular as blockers, since those usually require a long hike to reach.
I hate to add to the plate but could it please be considered to add fountains and Gazebos back into the criteria explicitly? Because of the no mass produced objects rule and these things typically being similar to eachother, they're getting rejected when guidance has always been to accept.
Simply reviewing the guidelines isn't enough if people are obviously ignoring them now.
The 3 strikes rule should apply to any ineligible nomination that are later removed (only those nominations after a specified date) and to those who approved it.
we need the abuse edition option and we need a way to report fake portals without going to the scanner! I know two cities that has the same playground and gym approved all over the city! The same photo, just diferentes locations! We see these approved portals in the duplicate section so we need a way to report those.
to prevent people abusing the abuse ou report options, just put the three strikes policy like someone said! If you report and there is nothing wrong, your account is the one to receive the flag!
Not only is it ruining the game, as I have said before it is devaluing Niantic's biggest asset and opens them to another class action lawsuit much bigger than the last one.
@NianticCasey Can someone look into the little free library in one of the featured wayspots? That's all I have for info is what someone posted to reddit. I don't think you mean to show something like that as an example.
The funny part is you can tell which ones are from Pogo players because they will literally write "WE NEED MOAR POKESTOPS AND POKEGYMS" in the supporting info,
sorry but that is not the whole truth. I know for a fact that I have seen submissions from others that do not say any pokemon go related reference. It has gotten better a small fraction still use these but submitting is cleaning up when rejection emails happen. I have seen quality improve it is going to take voting past the first 2-3 weeks of submissions but the quality is improving.
Every area varies based on their local groups. Most just seem to want more more more more more more.
But I think this is what @bobofango was talking about.
And I can say I'm tired of getting stuff from Mexico (1600+ miles away from my location). So much for using our locations. Next up based on prior reviews, will be NYC and HI and I will have to zoom like crazy to even try to see where the sub might be at due to density.
Thanks for calling this to my attention @sophielab, while the inclusion criteria does specifically call out free mini-library locations (like this one), it also calls out that these must not be located on Private Property. If you reply with some more details about where this is located, I can ask our team to take another look.
Regarding featured Wayspots, this isn't necessarily a curated list but rather automatically surfaced based on a few metrics-based criteria, like agreement rate.
@NianticCasey If you are looking for LFL on private residential property, search for “Ed’s Little Free Library”. I saw that one while looking for duplicates in Wayfarer.
@NianticCasey I don't have an exact location. I was more concerned about the featured one being right on the front lawn influencing decisions. Could you refresh all the wayspots so it's not in the showcase?
The reddit poster redacted it before posting. It's just that reviewers shouldn't have a picture of something on a front lawn in the showcase. Ideally, Niantic would search by title which is visible and remove it.
Is there a way to weight reviews? e.g. for acceptance x% pogo accounts agreements x% ingress account agreements, that way you have point of view from both games and experience.
Also that FB group is aggravating at times with misinformation. Users state blatantly that they have multiple wayfarer accounts (pogo or otherwise) and use them all. I'm sure there can be a similar wayfarer run group or forum that has some legitimacy. Submitters are ignoring any Reddit AMA and ingress community forum posts by admin (niantic) because "ingress not wayfarer".
I assume the red pin in the second picture is the in game pin, so not only is that a bad portal, but it's deliberately mis-located to give couch access, while putting it clearly into "encouraging trespassing" territory.
All new and not a single one of the POI's in the nearby list is valid, all are bridleway markers, none are visually unique, none meet the criteria, and yet all have been passed and are now live.

@NianticCasey
Portal name is "Klaverberg topsteen"
Thank you for the quick response
@NianticCasey while we have your attention lol...

Thanks both!
@NianticCasey unfortunately the damage is already done to legitimate reviewers.
The issue was raised 2 weeks ago when the first pogo nominations come through wayfarer

Little free library on someone's front lawn is feature wayspot.

I completely agree. Some idiot even submitted an empty zooper dooper packet. It’s ridiculous and is ruining the game.

I'm glad it's improving where you are. Where I am it's getting much, much worse.

If it's featured it should display the address

Oh I see sorry. A lot of threads and I misunderstood this wasn't something you saw personally

I hope we soon get it in Prime. I send in ticket to Niantic about it.

From earlier today
All new and not a single one of the POI's in the nearby list is valid, all are bridleway markers, none are visually unique, none meet the criteria, and yet all have been passed and are now live.
Quality of POI's is diminishing faster and faster

@NianticCasey this takes the cake
Someone is going to have to fill me in as to why this isn’t a good wayspot
You do realize that's 2x the same pic submitted on 2 different locations?
I wouldn't be surprised if it was photoshopped either
Oh whoops, that completely flew over my head. Thanks.
