I understand that recharge rooms are no longer needed to obtain the medal. According to the rules, you must interact with 5 or more NIASection14-deployed Battle Beacons (remote recharge counts as interaction).

I think the point was that recharge counts whether or not you were in a "room" to do it, so it may not be necessary to organise recharge rooms. (You do of course need to find keys to suitable portals, which might in practice amount to the same thing. But a local or regional faction chat might be the best place to ask that.)
I understand what’s important to you. I was asking the other person to clarify. I know they’re happening and if you were resistance, I’d give you some links. I have no idea if anything is being arranged on the enl side, I’d assume there is.
I see people continue to say recharge rooms aren’t a thing, yet, I know they’re happening. But my question still stands. Would recharge rooms benefit your faction or are they, at this point, just a means for a group of people to get a medal?
Then why are you disagreeing with me? I'm genuinely asking a question and hoping to get people to see these are still an important function to anomalies and worth coordinating and helping a particular faction.

Would Recharge rooms help a faction though? I keep hearing people say they aren’t a thing anymore, but I know recharge rooms are happening.
From the very link you shared...

Absolutely.
They definitely help as I've noticed recharging at LA while on ground.
I wonder if Niantic is looking at how those keys are being moved from one location to another. Could be a great honeypot of sorts. 😘

I read the "recharge rooms aren't a thing" wrong. Thanks for the call out.
Lots of brute force going on.
They also helped in Jacksonville last weekend.
