It is done intentionally, as you will have noticed, that after the hack with the drone, you cannot hack again, regardless of mods on the portal and time. Until the drone is moved
This is to encourage to keep moving the drone.
Eventually the drone will do more. but camping at a portal is't one of them.
I'm not saying it should hack the portal again, I'm saying it should power up the drone faster so it can move to a new portal sooner. Think of it as having a Tesla station deployed on the portal.
I disagree. Only one hack/move per hour. I don't need people to farm from their coaches. This game is about real life movement, not flying with drones.
What? The drone is Low-Altitude, Short-Endurance (LASE) - an actual class for Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV). The drone can't perform an action in 60 minutes.
Perhaps what you are asking for is a feature request-- the ability to place mods on drones? Maybe they would be the same as portal mods, or maybe they would be their own unique set of mods. It might be the case that mods have weight, and modding a drone conveys both an advantage (two hacks instead of one) and also a penalty (90-minute move time instead of 60).
@Perringaiden I said exactly that a couple of comments above: "Perhaps what you are asking for is a feature request-- the ability to place mods on drones?"
I get that Heat Sinks are portal mods, but that should allow more than one hack per hour. If it effects the portal, than hacking with a drone should receive the same benefit. Hacking with a drone counts toward portal burnout, so portal mods that effect hacking should also work for drones.
Actually, I go out of the house more often since the drone was introduced, because the drone fills up my inventory, and I must to out to use the items.
Comments
Because the HS is a portal mod not drone mod and the 1h cooldown is on the drone.
The portal powers the drone. No reason why a Heat Sink couldn't quicken the recharge time.
The reason is above as I said: the HS short the portal cooldown (for hacks), not the drone cooldown (for movement).
But it doesn't even need logic. Drones can do only one hack per portal per movement, and they move every hour. That's it.

It would also be cool if Drones could travel across links if the portal had a Link Amp
Yes maybe we will get drone shards that sends with links
Made that suggestion already, when the drone came out
Alternative idea: Modding your drone.

You are not supposed to use Drone as a farm tool and always have full inventory of items. Stop trying to make the game easy.
