Feature Request: two types of inventory (Pokemon GO style)

We already have inventory split into two categories: keys, and items. But unfotunately both of them use the same storage quota.

In PoGO however, the split is not only as a category, but also as a different storage. You can buy up your two inventories (one for Pokémon, and other for items) into quite good/ managable and comfortable size, that you can adjust to your gameplay style.

Most important: this upgrades, after buy, are permanent. Not subscription.

Niantic allows expansion of storage in PoGO to 3500 items in item bag, and to 3500 Pokémon storage. That is 7000 storage!

In Ingress, there is only 2000 items of overall storage (keys, items, boosts, etc.). 2500 if you buy subscription.

That's a bit belittling in regard to Ingress players. Sorry, but it is.

Long story short, my idea:

Divide item storage into 2 separate categories: keys and items.

Make both storages upgradeable, yes, for actual money.

For start, set max capacity of each storage to 2000 each. Allow 50-100 items upgrades up to 3500 items capacity each (maybe 1000 items at each category at the start of the game, for new players if you wish).

Count the cash.

Watch Ingress players run around in rapture and delight, make more links, more building, more destruction, more everything.

And no, no one will resign from C.O.R.E. because it has another 500 items in one shot (though 500 items is still a bit poor quantity) and good item bonuses.

No, KeyLocker is not the same/ or not equivalent for three reasons:

Keys stored in KL are unusable.

Keys not stored in KL take overall available items space.

KL items takes up space on their own, max up to 6 items, but still.

I know we all want it.

Best to everyone!

Retired Badges

Wondering if and when the retired badges might come back?

The Seer Badge seems like it would be an easy one to reactivate, not sure why it even went away? The fear that pursuit of a badge would lead people to submit lame candidates? Letting Pokemon players start submitting (not to mention players of all levels back in the day) did more to open the floodgates of bad subs than the Seer badge ever did. Things have stabilized now, bring back the Seer Badge.

Recruiter. Okay so the only people who really ever got very far on this badge were usually bot lords. That said, judging from the drop in active players, this one coming back seems like it would be useful. We need more people in the game. I get that it's probably a pain to reimplement. But if we got a list of codes we could share with friends we recruit, maybe that would be a way to bring this one back?

Guardian. OK. Hear me out on this one. A lot of people lost interest in this game when hunting went away. Guardian was the one badge you could actively deny the other team. It added another dimension to Ingress. It also made a lot of people mad, it generated a lot of hurt feelings, it created a whole lot of tears on both sides. But if Guardian was a badge you had to opt into getting, you had to sign a disclosure that says among other things, you may be hunted, people may use data to find your portals, people will try to deny you this badge, it's not easy and if you agree to play the Guardian game, you acknowledge these things and give up your right to whine. You also agree to have some sort of mark on your profile that indicates you are playing the Guardian game and that way everybody knows who's playing and who's not.

I, for one, would love to start the guardian game over again and I know I'm not alone. If it's optional and people are well informed as to what they're getting into, why not?

Thoughts?

Update on Wayfarer Upgrade Delays

Hi folks,

Firstly, let me apologize on behalf of my team. Trust that your feedback regarding the status of Wayfarer upgrades hasn't been for nothing, I've been personally surfacing these reports and working to determine what is going on. That this information didn't make it to you is my fault and I'm sorry.

The TLDR is that there were two issues that we discovered that were, in fact, blocking a significant number of Upgrades from being processed. These have been addressed and the backlog of Upgrades is being processed as we speak.

One of the issues was related to nominations that were tagged for bad words. Approximately 6k were in this pool and all but 100 have been reviewed now.

Secondly, some points of interested were tagged for OPR abuse, preventing them from being processed. We are still going through this backlog and should be done by early next week.

In addition to this, we're working on an internal system whereby we can better monitor issues like this when they come up and make real-time changes to address the issues.

Many of you have been waiting a long time, and I really appreciate your patience. Again, my sincere apologies and I look forward to getting your Upgrades fully processed soon.
