        <title>Duplication of a nomination submitted by an Ingress Prime Player.</title>

        <description><![CDATA[<p>Let's say an Ingress player submitted an eligible nomination, which doesn't exist on the Intel map. But the nomination is already an existing wayspot in Wayfarer, leading to duplication of the nomination when reviewed.</p><p>My question is: does such a duplicated nomination (which doesn't exist on Intel Map) make it to Intel Map or not? If not, why such discrimination? Because wayfarer is the common place for all Niantic games.</p><p>The nomination is not within the 20m of an existing portal.</p><p>Everyone has probably heard about the "Wayspots addition to India" recently, which is exclusive to Pokemon GO. The newest wayspots also contain temples, churches, mosques, etc. I have submitted temples and mosques as nominations through Ingress that were not present on the Intel Map but exist on Wayfarer. What happens when such a nomination is duplicated?</p><p>I think such a duplicated nomination should be added to Ingress.</p><p>How would it make an Ingress player feel when their nomination is duplicated, which doesn't exist on Ingress?</p><p>This is a huge disadvantage for Ingress players who are trying to add more portals in areas where there are zero or fewer portals.</p><p>It should be simple, such that if an Ingress player submits an eligible wayspot that doesn't exist on Intel Map, it should be added to Ingress, subjected to the existing 20-metre rule.</p><p>The Ingress team should look into making certain types of wayspot categories (like temples, churches, mosques, etc.) when they are marked as dupliocates also added to Ingress if they are not present in Ingress.</p>]]>

<p>Now we're approaching difficult choices. Niantic has to change the rules to give the Res a chance to win because in a perpetual game, you need a tick-tock-tick-tock series of wins for each side, otherwise population/morale nosedives and one side is more disinterested. This was meant to be a Res win with the primary in their territory and also a global event challenge which normally goes to the Res. With the global event cancelled, ENL worked hard to eke out another victory. </p><p><br /></p><p>On the other hand, how long will the ENL keep fighting for no permanent rewards? No bio badges the Res have to look at, no XM on the ground Res have to look at and have FOMO. This is what drives competition, not merely a win/loss column. The best reward you can offer is something the other team is forced to see, but has to miss out for losing. </p><p><br /></p><p>Also, if that's too much work, how about the winning faction of each anomaly that gets badges gets a red flair border around any win they achieved?         <description><![CDATA[<p>I'm going to make this short and sweet because it is already been presented to admin by a fee agents I've spoke with. Plus there is a very detailed post as to what the issue is. It is identical for all of us experiencing it. Suddenly, without reason, when we interact with a certain percentage of portals we recieve the CAL access error. A system that's need to end spoofing but obviously is malfunctioning. Agents effected by this can hack, and glyph hack the portals but can not attack in any manner, remote charge, or chage while at the portal. For myself this has nearly killed my drive to play. Why am I going to take the time to travel to a portal for an OP or any other reason, just to find out there's  othing there that I can do. Please NIA, either fix the issue, or please send me a detailed explanation of why my account has this happening to it as well as what my CAL score is, what it needs to be, and what factors go into its algorithm.         <description><![CDATA[<p>I am proposing to add a new medal which will award players for submitting cheater reports and Niantic not doing anything useful and the cheaters continuing to cheat afterward. The medal can be called "Fighter for fair play". This will act as a reimbursement for time the player wasted on gathering the relevant information and submitting the report. This will also point out Niantic's failure in banning the cheaters and nudge them in the direction of doing better in the future.</p><p>The logic can work as follows:</p><ol><li>Player reports a cheater using the report abuse / cheating process.</li><li>Niantic closes the report claiming that they have carefully reviewed the report and have taken action where appropriate.</li><li>X days after the report was closed the cheater continues to cheat. X can be time allotted to queue up the cheater to be banned and eventually process the ban.</li><li>The player gets +1 to the medal counter if the cheater continues to cheat.</li><li>[Optional] Once the player reaches the Onyx tier of the medal, automatically ban all cheater accounts the played had submitted.</li></ol><p>To Niantic: After you've read this, put yourself in a player's shoes who keeps trying to eliminate cheating in their area, and read this again. Makes sense?</p>]]>

        <description><![CDATA[<p>So I've had this issue quite a few times.. When I've attackedg portal, that is enemy owned.. With perfect signal, and being able to destroy every resonator but one. That resonator is only hanging on by a thread... and then nothing. It doesn't die, doesn't switch to a neutral portal. It will continue to go through and continue to use bursters, but no damage occurs.  I have restarted the App, cache cleared, restarted the phone, and everything is up to date. (Also have tried from a different device.) I have also deleted the app and redownloaded.         <description><![CDATA[<p>Niantic needs to offer an option for all accounts to change the email address associated with an account.</p><p>Currently, there’s no access for Intel or Mission Creative Tool for me because those are still linked with the original email address (something@domain.com).</p><p>If you need to change the email address, currently you have to use Facebook / Google logging but you loose access to Intel &amp; Mission Creative Tool because those two are still stuck with the original email address  :(</p><p>Another issue here is that not everyone uses Facebook this days and forcing players to create an account just for the purpose of changing an email address on Ingress is...well, not ok.</p><p>Here’s the solution for everything: make a Niantic ID profile for each player and unify all services so that when a player wants to change the email address that will happen on all services associated with that profile.</p><p>Players must have a choice for logging in, something like Niantic/Ingress ID, Google ID, Facebook ID and Apple ID...I’ll prefer the first one: Niantic/Ingress ID</p>]]>

        <description><![CDATA[<p>This past Sunday the KC stop working after 2 KC completion.</p><p>I have submitted a request via the in-app support. I was told that a NIA team member was going to do a reset. However, the in-app support remains unresponsive for <strong>48 hours</strong>!!! </p><p>Shouldn't this  be easy 'simple' fix. Furthermore, we're underway with the Optima Challenges, a quick reset would be very helpfull. Not much time left!!</p><p>In the mean time, I have walked 36 km without KC completions and zero Optima Challenges completion.         <description><![CDATA[<p>As "App feedback" is archived, i am writing again to general posts requesting something for Niantic.</p><p>First, i love their game.. is a good game who need improvement, most probably because POGO exists. In the forum we have so much critics but we dont have to forget what we are enjoying playing Ingress and we must be grateful. We are playing for free, they are getting something from us we acept for.. something like a pleasant business :)</p><p>My request (and only one sentence) that will not be well received in the forum :P</p><p>Keep the portals located in towns or cities and delete the others.</p><p>I am sure you can know if a portal is inside a town/city, just simulate a field envolving that portal and if the MUs are less than X it wont be a popular portal.</p><p>Portals outside population mostly are:</p><p>- white</p><p>- useless for gaming but sentimental, thats why we can keep a key or maintain blue/green.</p><p>- a evil anchor. pleasant for the owner but a nightmare for agents who not live closer.</p><p>Why i am requesting that, i know its so radical.</p><p>I think it is a way to avoid a high damage done by spoofers over not easily accesed portals. As i told before, always cheaters will go before the law comes, so its very difficult to completely avoid them (i hope not so).</p><p>Other problem is to play under a BAF, permanent BAF usually have anchors outside population.</p><p>Matrioska fielding changes the game and there are not so much peoply supporting it, and i understand.</p><p>Of course there are others portals inside population with restringed access that must be removed, i am thinking about a quick and simple solution to avoid the problems most important i think we are living.</p><p>Agents, what do you think?</p><p>dont be so much cruel with disagree, jajajaja.. i will love every comment this post will receive.</p>]]>

        <description><![CDATA[<p>Hello <a data-username="NianticBrian" data-userid="20895" rel="nofollow" href="https://community.ingress.com/en/profile/NianticBrian">@NianticBrian</a> , today again the issue to not be able to link to a long distance portal.</p><p>This has happened to me several times, my colleague agents were able to link, according to intel the way was free, no blocking links.</p><p>I only had the key of the portal I wanted to link to in my inventory.</p><p>Cleared cache: same result, no link possible (+700km)</p><p>Restarted phone (samsung S10): same result, no link</p><p>Reinstalled Prime: same result, no link, I was able to link portals, but only not long distance portals.</p><p>Any news on this issue is highly appreciated. Getting up early, waiting around for an hour or so, and then not being able to link is a very underwhelming experience to say the least.</p>]]>

<p>After the disappearance, Nia OPS Sierra directly told me that the account was corrupted, but the data of the account was still there. Nia OPS Sierra asked me to open a new account and they will restore my data. However, after a year of continuous communication, it has not been fully recovered. <p>During this year, I also kept in touch with the Ingress Team. Either there was no much reply or silence. Sierra told me to wait patiently. I waited for a year and kept asking for long enough, right? In August 2020, Pooja contacted me and told me Don’t worry. And now it’s 2021.</p><p>Ingress is a great game. You can encounter many things in the gameplay. In the past six years, I have participated a lot of anomalies, operations, and events, including laughter and tears. But the data accumulated for six years still not fully restored and give me a silent replied.         <description><![CDATA[<p>For the longest time, Niantic have rejected missions the same way scholarship or job applications are rejected or denied. They take too long and why you have rejected is vague. The most you receive is a vague templated response. This shouldn't be the case since reasons for rejecting missions are pretty straightforward, there is a problem either or all of the following: [1] title/description (containing URL, names, etc, low quality) ; [2] image (containing person image, copyrighted, etc.), [3] path and objectives (too short, passphrase has a problem, etc.). </p><p>I suggest the rejection be focused on this problem on any of the 3 instead rather than the agent guessing why the mission has been rejected. This can be done like: The mission is rejected because of problems in [1] or the mission is rejected because of [1] and [2], possibly followed by a simple checklist of problems spotted in the mission. </p><p>But of course this is hard if there is just an algorithm passing random judgments on the submitted missions. This is very important given that you are probably receiving a lot of missions now because of Second Sundays. </p><p>Additionally, maybe take a long look at the missions criteria and refresh the requirements just like what you did on portal nominations.</p>]]>

        <description><![CDATA[<p>It would be nice to have the ability to attack a remote portal, even if say, maybe it means knocking off one resonator at the cost of maybe killing the drone for a set amount of time. Like an ultra strike capable drone. Or maybe a field disruption technology that could cause a field to possibly go unstable or drop.</p><p>The reason for this being is that there are  a lot of portals in my area that are being used as field anchors that are on business properties where going there would get you kicked out and/or be considered trespassing unless you work there. I have inquired on a few of them already. </p><p>Alternatively it would be nice to have a way to report these portals or list them as inaccessible. Since we cannot type out a reason when submitting a report I am at a bit of a loss.</p><p>Any thoughts ?</p>]]>

        <description><![CDATA[<p>The current bug report section is a mess with so many duplicated, outdated threads or issues that don't have an updated tag. It works in its own way, so I'm not asking for it to be replaced.</p><p>My suggestion is to <strong>add a public bug tracker</strong> <a href="https://community.ingress.com/en/home/leaving?allowTrusted=1&amp;target=https%3A%2F%2Ftrello.com%2Fb%2FmJEAmorl%2Ffall-guys-public-issue-tracker" rel="nofollow noopener ugc">similar to this one</a>, so players can see at one glance (at least on pc) the current issues acknowledged by the Ingress team (or the most spread or important ones), what is being worked on, what is recently fixed, what the new fixes will be and so on.</p><p>What I also like is that they also include workarounds to help players until they fix the issue, something that here is done by comments from other agents in long bug threads. <p>Note that in Read First they also state that sections are subject to be moved around, so it would also be a good way to just inform us visually what fixes could we expect to be done Soon (TM), what was being worked on but now has been dropped for a later time if a new bug has appeared and is more important than the current reported ones, etc.</p><p>Of course, it will also need to be updated frequently or we'll be in the same situation where people has to tag Niantic employees so that they update the current threads' status in the bug report section.</p><p><br /></p><p>Something similar could also be used to show us what new features are being worked on and how they are moving up and down (or left to right) in the queue of things to come, if at some point someone decides we should have access to a roadmap but doesn't want to give exact dates or promise us that we will have X thing before having D thing. It wouldn’t neutralize the portal, one of the links that constitute the field would randomly be selected and removed thereby destroying the field. This would make the game more enjoyable to more people by reducing the number of permaBAFs.</p><p><strong>Motivation</strong></p><p>Niatic wants to have a product that is self sufficient and making money. The best way to make this happen is to make the game as enjoyable as possible for the greatest number of people. One of the biggest complaints about the game on forums that I see is that a few, very dedicated people leave large cities/areas under permanent large fields. Fielding is a huge aspect of the game, as there are only a few people that will dedicate massive amounts of time to this game only a small subset of the population play ingress. It needs to be made more available to everyone. The game needs to be changed to make it possible to retain more people.</p><p>If players had the ability to take down a field they are under by glyph hacking portals under an opposing team field, then permaBAFs would happen less often. This would make the game more enjoyable by more people.</p><p><strong>Pseudo code</strong> (possible way to implement this into ingress, lots of assumptions, but should give the general method)</p><p>There are already checks in the code to see how many hacking points you get. 1 point would equal 1 in 1500 chance (not sure what the actual chance should be) to take down the opposing team field that the portal is under.</p><ul><li>Someone glyph hacks a portal controlled by their own faction</li><li>Calculate the number of hacking points one gets from successful hacks</li><li>Check to see if under an opposing team field (need to have this be applied to the smallest field you are under if you are under multiple fields, not sure if this is easy or hard)</li><li>If the field is less than 24 hours old , you can’t take it out (again not sure how long this should be)</li><li>If under opposing team field and it is older than 24 hours apply the 1 in 1500 percent chance to take the field down for each glyph hacking point</li><li>If you succeed then randomly select one of the three links and take it down, thereby destroying the field </li><li>If you don’t succeed then tough, glyph hack again.</li></ul><p><br /></p><p>Here are the possible counter arguments for this change</p><ul><li>The “few very dedicated people” that are making the permaBAFs are the people that are spending all the money in the game anyways, and we don’t want to make them grumpy because they disproportionately are the most money makers (I don’t have the data to confirm this, but it is worth looking into)</li><li>The “few very dedicated people” will find ways around this, by just making permaBAFs every day. This will invalidate any reason for making this change.</li><li>This will slow down the hacking process as it adds more code checks, it already can take a while for linkable portals to show up when linking, this would just take longer for glyph hacking and it is not worth it.</li><li>It takes the "fun" out of it for those that are highly motivated to making large fields, why spend all that time, money, and effort when your big field will go down in a few days? (not sure if this is a flaw or a feature?)</li></ul><p>Any other ideas people have either for or against, please put in the comments. I have not been playing very long, and I am sure there are more aspects of this change that could help.</p>]]>

<p><br /></p><p>The big field was made by our active agent and the rest is a try to block us with green links and blue fields mixed. Have in mind that we restored some of the fields now and we cleared some blockers. The situation when this happened was a lot different., no green fields, a lot of blue blockers everywhere.</p><p>Despite our report to NIA and then the FastTrack report submitted on the same day, <strong>the spoofer is still alive</strong>, but even if its banned, they do lvl up pretty fast with the APEX item. The obvious spoofing and the coordination with spoofer and then the fake enl account trick is way beyond fair gameplay. Is there a way for the real agents who obviously used the cheating for their benefit to be punished? I guess the standard reporting system wont be enough here? There are a lot of evidence and sorry for my delay or if i missed something, everything is still there, in the real intel logs or you can just contact me to provide more.</p>]]>

        <description><![CDATA[<p>We're investigating an Intel Map issue affecting a small number of regions, where Portals, Links, and Fields are not loading. For example, <a href="https://community.ingress.com/en/home/leaving?allowTrusted=1&amp;target=https%3A%2F%2Fintel.ingress.com%2Fintel%3Fll%3D50.979232%2C11.029301%26z%3D11" rel="nofollow noopener ugc">Erfurt, DE</a>. At this time, this doesn't appear to be a widespread issue affecting Intel Map globally, and this also doesn't impact the Scanner app in these locations (Portals, Links, Fields are loading in-game).
