        <description><![CDATA[<p>The first time I use the Glyph Hack button it doesn't work. Select portal (while in range or in Dronenet) &gt; tap and hold Hack button &gt; extra menu appears &gt; slide finger to Glyph button &gt; release finger &gt; nothing happens and the extra menu disappears. The 2nd time this exact sequence is done starting with tap and hold the Hack button it works correctly - the glyph hack screen appears normally. Can't tell if this is related, but also started seeing a delay (~1-2 sec) with player names appearing next to resonators when selecting a portal, and it feels that maybe if the names start appearing while you're in the middle of trying to press the Glyph Hack button it resets, and the 2nd time the names have already appeared so it works correctly. Issue happens about 50% of the time. Already got used to it and move my finger back to Hack button after releasing on Glyph Hack in anticipation of the issue. Issue started about 3-4 weeks ago. Android 11.</p>]]>

        <description><![CDATA[<p>Since around 12/30/2022 I started experiencing the following issue. When glyph hacking, while drawing glyphs sometimes the game doesn't register that I am drawing the glyph. I begin drawing the glyph - the game highlights the initial dot where I first touched my phone screen and started the glyph drawing but doesn't reflect me drawing the glyph pattern. Only the initial dot remains highlighted and nothing else. The game behaves as though I touched the initial dot and never moved my finger afterward. When I notice this, I lift my finger up and just re-draw the same glyph the same way and the game correctly registers it. The issue seems to happen only when I start drawing glyphs from the bottom (6 o'clock) or the lower-right (4 o'clock) dot, and there's about a 50/50% chance that the issue will happen when I start at either of these two dots. Starting drawing from any other dots doesn't produce the issue. </p><p>I've been playing the game since 2016 and haven't really changed how I draw glyphs and not doing anything different when the issue occurs VS not occurs. The touch screen of my phone works 100% everywhere else including all other game screens and all other games/apps and the OS.         <description><![CDATA[<p>The basic idea is this. I understand Quantum Capsules are causing latency issues. So instead of daily replication what about if once a day you have an option to do a glyph hack style input on the capsule? You get 5 glyphs, and the better you do the better your replication chances, if you don't put a glyph sequence on a particular day you get no replication. That would remove all the inactive accounts form the server load, and reward active players while helping with latency.</p>]]>

        <description><![CDATA[<p>Hello.</p><p>I'm new here, so I don't really know how things work around here. 😅 I wanted to make a Feature Request. </p><p>In the area I'm living there are not many Portals, perhaps a new mechanic can be implemented in the Game? Such as Collection of "Data Fragments"? The player would have to collect a bunch of these fragments to fill a progress bar or something like that. </p><p>To "catch" a Data Fragment player would need to guess a sequence/passphrase or resolve a small problem/GlyphHack (with a time limit). </p><p>After filling the Data Fragment Collection progress bar the player could be rewarded a small amount of CMU (similarly as in PokéGo for holding a Gym).</p><p>Collecting Data Fragments could also have a Streak effect. </p><p>There could also be Different types of Data. </p><p>Some of the Data Fragments could be Encrypted and the Player would need to use a Decryptor and decryption would take place as the player walks around (similar to the Egg  Incubation mechanic in PokéGo). </p><p>Each Data Fragment would have different random value (bytes?). that would go to the specific Data Progress.</p>]]>

        <description><![CDATA[<p>This is not a frequent issue, and not a predictable issue, but seems to occur in ~1-2%(?) of glyph hacks on the current client.</p><p>When entering the glyph minigame, you see the sequence and complete it normally and correctly (sequence is correct, all dots on screen buzz/light up).</p><p>The client pauses briefly, shows no extra AP reward on-screen, and rewards you as if you had tap hacked; you also do not get any glyph points towards Translator.</p><p>If the hack was registered as a glyph hack but not completely correct, you'd still get bonus items and some AP - this gives you nothing extra.</p><p>I've had this happen a few times; and on each occasion, I am absolutely and totally confident that I'd put the correct sequence in, at least according to the client.</p><p>I had upgraded from iOS 14.8 to iOS 15 the previous day, so I wondered if that might be a factor, but a friend has reported the same experience on iOS 14.8, so it might be a more general issue than iOS 15 teething troubles.</p><p>My phone: iPhone 12 Pro Max running iOS 15 and client 2.80.1.5eeb5008</p><p>My friend's phone: iPhone 12 Mini running iOS 14.8.</p><p>(Unfortunately, due to it being intermittent and unpredictable, it's not possible to provide a screenshot.)</p>]]>

        <description><![CDATA[<p>I found two topics (<a href="https://community.ingress.com/en/discussion/comment/24839" rel="nofollow noopener ugc">1</a>, <a href="https://community.ingress.com/en/discussion/comment/149130" rel="nofollow noopener ugc">2</a>) regarding this in general discussion and archived app feedback without any response from developers, so I figured I'll re-raise this here:</p><p>Android from certain version allows using swipe gestures instead of virtual home/menu/back buttons at the bottom of the screen. However, it's very easy to accidentally trigger the 'back' gesture (swipe from left or right edge of the screen) during glyphing. <p>  </p><p>3. Open Glyph menu  </p><p>      -&gt; Glyph grid opens</p><p>4. Do Glyph command or sequence</p><p>      -&gt; "Portal not in range" toast message shown</p><p>5. Was able to repeat step 3-4. over 6-7 times within 15 seconds.</p><p>    The location was stationary and stayed exactly at 40.0 meters during that time, no location drifting.</p><p><br /></p><p>-&gt; Glyph hack menu should not be activated when it shows "Portal not in range" at the same time.</p><p><br /></p><p>The same behaviour is probably happening when opening Pop-up hack menu straight from map view.</p><p><br /></p><p>Also Link menu is activated when range is exactly 40.0 meters. </p><p>Did not try if linking also fails with "Portal not in range" toast message.</p><p><br /></p><p>This happened over month ago and also with latest 2.69.1 version.</p><p><br /></p><pre spellcheck="false" tabindex="0">Samsung S8

        <description><![CDATA[<p>2 Suggestions for Glyph hacking for discussion please - </p><p>1. when we glyph hack have the names of the glyphs show underneath as they are drawn and displayed. I'm trying to learn the glyphs, instead of 'leftaxetop' 'shortfatpencil' large triangle down' 'broken bowtie' show the names like purity, humanity, fields, or portals. Firstly easier to remember, secondly we actually learn the 'language'. Many of the glyphs for a type of sentence or idea.</p><p>2. when we glyph, have each symbol NOT stay on the screen once completed, so we can start the next glyph. (like it used to be??) time gets wasted while we realise that the glyph has been 'recognised and finished' I do like that each glyph is named at this stage too.  Thanks for consideration.</p>]]>

        <description><![CDATA[<p>With latest version 2.68.2 it feels drawing glyph sequences are even more stickier than before. And sometimes it does not even register when you move your finger on top of dot.</p><p>Do not remember that Redacted had this kind of stickiness.</p><p>Have also noticed couple of times that one or two glyph sequences are shown and dismissed very fast.</p><p><br /></p><p>Here are screenshots from video, there was 1-2 seconds stuck already when drawing a Complex command.         <description><![CDATA[<p>TL;DR have a 1 in 1500 chance when glyph hacking to bring down an opposing team field you are under. It wouldn’t neutralize the portal, one of the links that constitute the field would randomly be selected and removed thereby destroying the field. This would make the game more enjoyable to more people by reducing the number of permaBAFs.</p><p><strong>Motivation</strong></p><p>Niatic wants to have a product that is self sufficient and making money. The best way to make this happen is to make the game as enjoyable as possible for the greatest number of people. One of the biggest complaints about the game on forums that I see is that a few, very dedicated people leave large cities/areas under permanent large fields. Fielding is a huge aspect of the game, as there are only a few people that will dedicate massive amounts of time to this game only a small subset of the population play ingress. It needs to be made more available to everyone. The game needs to be changed to make it possible to retain more people.</p><p>If players had the ability to take down a field they are under by glyph hacking portals under an opposing team field, then permaBAFs would happen less often. This would make the game more enjoyable by more people.</p><p><strong>Pseudo code</strong> (possible way to implement this into ingress, lots of assumptions, but should give the general method)</p><p>There are already checks in the code to see how many hacking points you get. 1 point would equal 1 in 1500 chance (not sure what the actual chance should be) to take down the opposing team field that the portal is under.</p><ul><li>Someone glyph hacks a portal controlled by their own faction</li><li>Calculate the number of hacking points one gets from successful hacks</li><li>Check to see if under an opposing team field (need to have this be applied to the smallest field you are under if you are under multiple fields, not sure if this is easy or hard)</li><li>If the field is less than 24 hours old , you can’t take it out (again not sure how long this should be)</li><li>If under opposing team field and it is older than 24 hours apply the 1 in 1500 percent chance to take the field down for each glyph hacking point</li><li>If you succeed then randomly select one of the three links and take it down, thereby destroying the field </li><li>If you don’t succeed then tough, glyph hack again.</li></ul><p><br /></p><p>Here are the possible counter arguments for this change</p><ul><li>The “few very dedicated people” that are making the permaBAFs are the people that are spending all the money in the game anyways, and we don’t want to make them grumpy because they disproportionately are the most money makers (I don’t have the data to confirm this, but it is worth looking into)</li><li>The “few very dedicated people” will find ways around this, by just making permaBAFs every day. This will invalidate any reason for making this change.</li><li>This will slow down the hacking process as it adds more code checks, it already can take a while for linkable portals to show up when linking, this would just take longer for glyph hacking and it is not worth it.</li><li>It takes the "fun" out of it for those that are highly motivated to making large fields, why spend all that time, money, and effort when your big field will go down in a few days? (not sure if this is a flaw or a feature?)</li></ul><p>Any other ideas people have either for or against, please put in the comments. I have not been playing very long, and I am sure there are more aspects of this change that could help.</p>]]>

        <description><![CDATA[<p>Screen width is what is making it a royal. Pain in the arse when trying to do glyphs like All,Clear all, Open all, imperfect, and a few others.  Its really annoying and its directly affecting the consistency in the speed getting it all correct.  On my phone i usually do when out n about i got a close to 100% accuracy rate but on ipad it is worse. Like 70 give or take.   Frustrating?</p><p>a simple fix i would suggest is having the game playable in normal phone screen size with a toggler for max out to top/bottom but still some emptiness on the side.   Catan World Explorers have that feature.</p><p>seriously, i just want to do drone hacking at home from my couch while watching media without the hassle due to the wide screen disrupting the drawing of glyphs.</p>]]>
