        <description><![CDATA[<p>So, towards the end of the double AP event I requested assistance on getting an apex replaced because of a glitch pulling a second one out of my inventory and giving me the time for one. Fast forward to the issue "being resolved."</p><p>August 15th, I get a DM from a friend and asks if I deleted my account. I said no and went to log in. I see a message about my item being returned, then the app force closed. Put in the credentials in the sign I'm process, then a screen popped up about agreeing to the terms and conditions. I read them and agreed, clicked on, then an error screen. I uninstalled and reinstalled and the same pop ups happened. I reached out to a few other agents and they asked if my account was terminated, I said I didn't request it. So I put in as many things as I could to try and figure out what happened. Was I banned without notice? And for what? I don't spoof, don't bot, etc. Did Ingress terminate my account? If so, why? I was and had a core subscription active and nearing the next month's payment. </p><p>So, after all that and no immediate answer I waited. All things I had done: resos, mods, links all had been removed from the game, and wasn't able to be pinged. Me also knowing I was the only fighting to keep links up so Machina couldn't cross certain areas, knew everything was in serious and quick trouble. </p><p>The responses start coming in like, do you remember your name? Your sign in info? Etc. Yes. Can you reproduce this bug? Yes, every time. After those waves of responses over the first day or so, everything gets escalated to research/care teams, etc. So they can figure out what happened. Several more days go by with no answers, no successful log in, nothing. The day of my subscription renewal is here, no account to use. So I cancel. A couple more days of silence, I said whatever you've done is probably irreversible to fix at this point. </p><p>(8/26) I get an email saying my account is back up, and am excited to see if everything has been returned to what it was. </p><p>What I get (see attached images of gear and level). All resos and links not restored, my lockers emptied and gone, my capsules all missing including the items inside them, all my gear, my AP is in the negatives, my level is incorrect. Oh, but I now have 2000 bursters.... <p>Update: a few days later my account gets "fixed" one empty key locker is added, a few caps and k caps are present, but also empty, I still have 2000 bursters, my level and AP have been fixed. </p><p>Still no answer as to what they did, still no full recovery of my account, still no restoration of resos, mods, and links before this happened. I feel like this isn't "fair" or "fun" experience violating their own model. I refuse to do anything in game until this is resolved, and also feel I should be compensated for this monumental **** up. Am I wrong?</p>]]>

        <description><![CDATA[<p>I had an issue with an apex well over a month ago, and the "fix" was to give me the apex back, but my account was compromised. The account was taken down for several days without explanation. When it was return as "fixed" my account AP was in the negatives, my level was incorrect all the keys were gone, all the lockers and caps were gone, all the premium items and other gear was gone. When I reported that my account was screwed up, they fixed the AP and level but never fixed the rest of the account. </p><p>I've had 5 tickets about this issue out and about since this whole debacle started and still haven't had progress since my account was "fixed". All reps have been silent and no higher ups have contacted me. I'm frankly beyond angry at this point, and so is the community. If you aren't going to fix my account I'd like my money back or the means to fix the account on my own. </p><p>To see how my account has been compromised and not fixed: I reinstall the game and log in, see the 2000 bursters and missing gear/keys. Then check all communication avenues to see if anyone from Ingress or Niantic has responded. </p><p>What I expected to happen: add apex and then remove 2000 or so AP from the account or "use" some free items to "gain" the offset AP. </p><p>What I got: 2000 bursters in place of thousands, if not tens of thousands of dollars of keys and gear removed from my account. </p><p>Samsung A23 Android 5G most recent ingress update, as I recently redownload it after weeks of not playing.</p>]]>

Even if the app has all the volume settings disabled/down, the app highjacks the audio and interrupts all existing audio broadcasts.</p><p><a href="https://community.ingress.com/en/home/leaving?allowTrusted=1&amp;target=https%3A%2F%2Fdeveloper.apple.com%2Fdesign%2Fhuman-interface-guidelines%2Fcarplay" rel="nofollow noopener ugc">https://developer.apple.com/design/human-interface-guidelines/carplay</a></p><p><strong>"Let people choose when to start playback.</strong> In general, avoid beginning playback automatically unless your app’s purpose is to play a single source of audio, or your app is resuming previously interrupted audio.         <description><![CDATA[<p>Curious to know how folks have been handling playing mobile with machina where intel won't load all the portal links. </p><p>I believe that the intel loads links of varying length (All, 300m+, 800m+, 2.5km+, 5km+, etc). </p><p>Is there any chance that Machina could be placed on the loading table at different varying lengths? Or, maybe a "show all on map" button? For now, my solution it taking along a computer with me for planning more efficiently.</p>]]>

        <description><![CDATA[<p>I read in a previous post that there are softwares that do the job of reloading, although it was not taken into account... recently I ran into some agents of the faction against whatever time it is... I can't throw any portal at them. .. at least I spent 100 xmp to try to destroy it and nothing... even so the portal does not have mods... I passed a report but there is no support.         <description><![CDATA[<p>It appears that linking under fields is here to stay but I have seen some differences of opinion on just how far under a field an agent can link. </p><p>I propose the max link distance be 1km under fields but make it so the max link length can be modified by link amps with the same multipliers applied to portals not under fields. </p><p>The reason I think this is a good compromise is that it makes longer links achievable without a special event but also make it resource intensive to use the feature constantly. </p><p>This also restores a lot of value for rare link amps that had been lost since softbanks became available.</p>]]>

        <description><![CDATA[<p>So it’s less than 24 hours into the Chronos global challenge. I’m currently on about 1670 - so about a third of the way to 5000.</p><p>To start with, it’s great to see Global Challenges back. They are one of my most favourite parts of the game - taking this sandbox game and tweaking the rules to turn gameplay upside down.</p><p>It’s unfortunate that there are only two tiers, the past few years have set a precedence for three. A tier that everyone can attain, one for most people and a challenging tier for those who work for it. In future, it would be nice to see a return to 3 tears.</p><p>The artwork isn’t particularly special. It looks like something you will see in an FS media, just a generic blend of green and blue. A stack isn’t really going to make me think of this event, unlike the characters from the Nemesis series: (Aurora, Didact, Optima etc.) </p><p>I like how there are multiple ways to earn points, than the event based on one specific metric. This helps people play the event in a way that suits them and their resources.</p><p>This event also gives a very long time window, rather than the conventional 10 days. This will help more people find the time to play.</p><p>Now for the main part, Overclocking.</p><p>if I was to summarise, I would say that the network is not ready.</p><p>We’ve recently had a wave of android devices no longer being compatible with scanning, so there is a large chunk of the community feeling disgruntled. I’m fortunate enough to have a high-end iPhone so these changes don’t directly affect me, I have to acknowledge that this event is significantly harder for others.</p><p>Many portals need more scans. Put simply. I live in a medium city that has had a lot of scans, people scanning for Battle Beacons, many people scanning portals for their scout controller, (uniques scout controlled) and at the start of this event, only a very small minority were actually eligible for overclocking.</p><p>I’ve had to spend my time trying to scan different portals to make more eligible for overclocking, but as familiar with the rules know, scanning, does not earn points for the event metric. Immediate feedback I would give to the team is to include a successful portal scan upload to count for a Chronos Point, it is contributing to the event, the network and is a necessity for a number of people.</p><p>The actual process of making a portal eligible for overclocking is extremely convoluted. Members of the community must scan the candidate, successfully upload the scans, then access the Wayfarer App (still in beta), create a lightship dev account to be able to see how many scans are needed and then request VPS activation.</p><p>I’ve found, and this is in my experience of about 15,000 scans, that probably between 50 and 80% of my slow, good scans are actually accepted by the database. so this would require between 15 and 20 scans to be uploaded, to meet the minimum requirement of 10 accepted scans to request VPS activation.</p><p>Even then, I have found in the field that just because a portal lets you overclock, it is not necessarily a good experience. Some simply do not want to calibrate or it can take multiple attempts.</p><p>The only reliable way I have found is to try and overclock portals I know have got upwards of 100 scans, that myself and my teammates have done.</p><p>There are wayspots that I know have been tasks in Pokémon GO, requesting scans for premium items that have 50+ scans uploaded on the wayfarer app, but then cannot be VPS activated because of the poor quality scanning.</p><p>Pokémon GO players are not scanning to build the network, they are doing it, begrudgingly for free premium items. As Ingress does not have incentives like that, only badges. Most Ingress players are scanning because they want to scan, and the quality seems to be better.</p><p>I’ve also noticed that VPS enabled portals on the lightship app I’m not showing as overclock eligible in Ingress, still wanting to receive more scans. I went to a park where the Wayfarer app said the majority of wayspots would be VPS enabled, to find only a pitiful, minority or actually overclock eligible. So instead of earning points for the event, hacking the portals with overclock. I found myself scanning.</p><p>As for the actual hacking process.</p><p>When it comes to citing the glyphs, not all glyphs are built equal. Some are exactly how they appear in 2D, but just rotated - these include: ‘civilisation’ and ‘shapers’.</p><p>Others are not clear representations of their 2-D counterparts, these include - Potential, Pure, Capture and Chaos, for example.</p><p>It is also not clear what orientation and agent should be facing to see the glyph clearly. Many people in my groups have sent videos of them frantically circling around, trying to get some resemblance of a glyph. Even for experienced glyphers, this is not interesting, fun or engaging. </p><p>Some kind of indicator of what angle you should be facing the box for the cliff to correctly resemble needs to be added to overclocking. </p><p>The box does not seem to be stationary, in my experience, and from videos, other people have shared people are trying to circle the box to see the pattern from a different orientation, and the box is rotating with them. This does not help some glyphs that have a mirror image like ‘Create’ and ‘Destroy’ or ‘Simple’, ‘Gain’ and ‘Lose’.</p><p>I have also seen a bug where the glyph appears as very thin lines and is not clearly visible.</p><p>One thing Niantic has taken on board is the timing. It is much better and actually gives agents enough time to recite the pattern. I think this is finally at a happy medium. So one thing I will say thank you for is that</p><p><br /></p><p>This is my feedback from day one, I’m happy to have a global challenge back, but these are a combination of my thoughts and what others have shared in my communities. <p>Now we're approaching difficult choices. Niantic has to change the rules to give the Res a chance to win because in a perpetual game, you need a tick-tock-tick-tock series of wins for each side, otherwise population/morale nosedives and one side is more disinterested. This was meant to be a Res win with the primary in their territory and also a global event challenge which normally goes to the Res. With the global event cancelled, ENL worked hard to eke out another victory. </p><p><br /></p><p>On the other hand, how long will the ENL keep fighting for no permanent rewards? No bio badges the Res have to look at, no XM on the ground Res have to look at and have FOMO. This is what drives competition, not merely a win/loss column. The best reward you can offer is something the other team is forced to see, but has to miss out for losing. </p><p><br /></p><p>Also, if that's too much work, how about the winning faction of each anomaly that gets badges gets a red flair border around any win they achieved? The strange things is.that during the superposition event, the fake and the field was immediately banned and recovered. Now that the event end, no more support from Nia, and the procedure get very longer and now a fake is not banned from 24 hour. Can I ask explanation? Why this can happen?         <description><![CDATA[<p>Overclocks pretty cool for quickly getting level 4 Reso despite its current flaws for higher level portals.</p><p><br /></p><p>But at the moment for quick neighbourhood fielding it completely sabotages your chance at getting keys, since only the first hack gives keys.</p><p>I'd appreciate it if overclock was able to accept more/less glyphs to refuse keys if farming for low level gear, or more keys to get keys for quickly rebuilding stuff that gets hit from drive by attacks daily.</p>]]>

<p><strong>Thus we nead a way to be able to fight Machina, at our level, with wepons that are competitive.</strong> </p><p><br /></p><p>My idea would be to be able to fight Machina portals with the drone, though it can walk only 600 meter for now.</p><p><br /></p><p>So without adding buttons or actions in the UI, one way could be that a perfect glyph hack sequence on a Machina Portal would make it decay of 5%, and eventually annihilate it.</p><p><br /></p><p>It would help also low level players in city who are facing quickly to a penury of busters against Machina portals (I encounter this with my recursion). </p><p><br /></p><p>About drone jump, that would be nice to fix the nearby portals algorithm that still shows keys we have in inventory instead of close portals, and then be able to jump to nearby portals farther than 800 meters, but that's another question.</p><p><br /></p><p>Thanks you in advance to take this new gameplay request into consideration.</p>]]>

        <description><![CDATA[<p>There are plenty of accusations of people from both teams about so-called recharge bots that make capturing a portal or whole areas nearly impossible to capture, even when spam-attacking using Level 8 bursters.</p><p>This is a topic which is common to see brought up in some of the largest cross faction chat groups, such as 'IUENG Discussions' with people from both factions accusing the opposite faction of using recharge bots.</p><p>There's an easy way of stopping all these rumors, or prove that it is a problem - <strong>make recharge actions visible.</strong></p><p>The recharge action should be visible based on the location of the portal, not the playing doing the actual recharge, but should contain timestamp and agentName of the user doing the recharge. It should also be visible only within the set view-distance of the Activities tab.</p>]]>

        <description><![CDATA[<p>Please can we get some in-app ways of managing keys?</p><p>Primarily, being able to map the keys on a map, or sort by zip code, s2 cell, or town or something.</p><p>It would aid recycling to be able to mass select keys near a certain town.</p><p>I've known more players to quit ingress because of key management and hoarding to eventually paralyze the actions of recruits, then any other source, also putting the game down and finding everything half health a few days later, doesn't help.</p><p>Ideally when doing maintenance recharging, you want to be able to conserve your xm for portals you care about. Being able to star or favourite keys(would actually favourite the portal, so when the key is reacquired it would be starred still), would allow you to keep them charged.</p><p>Being able to tag them would bring more flexibility, but would be a fair amount of extra Dev work, so it's a nice to have, not a "we needed this 5 years ago"</p><p>Being able to take a snapshot of your keys status, and sorting by the snapshotted status would be handy too. If it was made clear to the user, that the filter is based on the snapshot, and not live data, then you could easily sort by faction or health, even if you need to put limits on it to 100 keys at a time to prevent server issues, or even if the feature is intentionally nerfed / disabled during anomaly events. An 80% solution is all we need to have a massive Quality of Life improvement, and I don't accept the opinion that it needs to be a perfect feature or that server load is too great. It's possible to overcome with some clever design work / limitations. You could even pitch it as a "recharge queue" where only close and relevant keys are shown at the time the queue chunk is processed, like how infinite scrolling works 'imperfectly' for comments on YouTube or tweets. E.g. show me favourites first, sorted by distance, that match my faction, that aren't at full health. </p><p>Being able to mark a key as "let decay" would be critical too, so less thought is required when bulk recharging daily.</p><p>Some more radical changes that would aid key management *indirectly* :</p><p>With the radical changes to machina, maybe the relationship new players have with maintenance recharging should be examined, and a better ruleset for when link drops could be enacted.</p><p>Imagine if resos never died fully, like machina, but the links dropped when Reso health becomes critical, *or* when less then 3 resonators remain.</p><p>It would enable both blue and green to better prevent machina in areas, by just unique dropping Reso, whilst giving new players something to ****: low level faction resonators that the keys have been long recycled.</p><p>Megafielders could let the links decay, without losing a linkable anchor, giving more flexibility, if they time things right, which if spotted by the enemy team, blockers could go up on the scheduled decay time in response.</p>]]>

        <title>My idea to fix Machina gameplay</title>

        <description><![CDATA[<p>I belive that Machina was added to encourage players to visit some new places. However the outcome is a bit different, many agents started to rage quit due to red links appearing everywhere, ignoring existing links, and staying undead on 5% ruining gameplay especially in more rural areas.</p><p>My point is that agents are forced to deal with machina in order to continue their usual gameplay. Today instead of only complaining I would like to discuss possible changes in machina mechanics.</p><p>Let's start with changing machina from "black mist ruination corruption virus" into something similar to pokemon raids. What if machina spawn rate would be significantly reduced, but the red portals harder to ****. Red portals could have some passive shield making them a bit stronger.</p><p>Then change loot from trash mods and resonators into something more valuable, I am talking about pink mods.  I would more likely travel to pop some reds knowing that I am not forced to go there to free myself from red cage, but encouraged by a valuable drop.</p><p>Next point I would change the way it spreads in addition to slowing growth, it should corrupt the closest neutral portal instead of random portal 4km away. This way we will have actual machina nests instead of random red links piercing cities ruining gameplay. Nowadays the most annoying thing machina is doing are red undead "flowers", one p8 portal and ~12 links to red portals in 4km radius. Red portals should be more grouped, not every agent has car and infinite supply of time and fuel to drive araound entire town in order to clear them.</p><p>Then what if we add new very rare portal mod called inhibitor, stoping machina spread in 1% of linking radius of portal where inhibitor is deployed. Only way to acuire said mod is to pick it up from popped machina portal.</p><p>And at last, what if machina started following rules of linking and stopped making links crossing already existing blue and green links.</p><p>Let's sum up. My idea is to change machina from forced feature that agents have to deal with in order to play to optional treasure hunt which will not affect nor ruin gameplay of agents not so interested in PvE.</p><p><br /></p><p>Ps. Maybe a little medal or two for dealing with machina, just saying.</p>]]>

If that portal is located in a county that is closed to the public by state law, shouldn’t it be removed?  If it is against the law to access any part of that county, by boat, by tour, by fly-overs, by any means whatsoever, shouldn’t it be removed?
