NO INGRESS PRIME

Things Prime needs to adjust, from my perspective:

    • Key recharging slows when you have hundreds of keys
    • Battery consumption is high
    • Graphics too dark and ethereal
    • Don't blur things in the distance. Keep the sharp like Redacted
    • Allow for different zooming options.
    • Reduce animations for slower devices
    • Quick menus (tap and hold)

It could go on and on, but a lot of this stuff is in the G-doc.

  • Redacted has to die, Prime is the future.

Now agents, Will you be left behind or will you embrace it?

@Losifer026 me too i dislike the skin : the map, the links, the fields.... and prime is blurry

  • Honestly, at this point, redacted is basically like building a bridge on an eroded wooden terrace. No matter how good you make the surface of the bridge, the wood will eventually give way and ruin everything.

Prime is all new from the ground up, is like building a new bridge from scratch (continuing with the analogy here).

No matter how much you want redacted to stay, no matter how much work Niantic could put into it, eventually, a system update will just brick the app. It's coming, it's inevitable. I just hope we reach parity, and get a reasonably efficient, fast and reliable scanner out of prime, before that happens.

  • Prime needs to be easier on my battery, less laggy and crashy, and the interface less clunky. It just not there yet. The scanner is still a pain to navigate

  • @NianticScot not planning to go back soon. The path is a hell and im not in the mood to break my car (who dies everytime i go there) <-thank u you didnt **** redacted.

But if i find a way to go there without my car, ull be the first tl know how prime works.

    Thanks.

i like redacted. it is fast.

prime is really slow to load, slow to use, and did i mention it is slow?

if they could speed it up some and then make it so i could tell the difference between white portals and the scratches on my screen i would be more for prime. but it takes forever to load. for.ev.er.

  • I personally have grown to like Prime, myself. I've always liked the one-finger turning, the UI just feels more intuitive to me, and I love the recent ability to rapidly fire off links. Granted, it could still use a little work, but it's definitely improved from its first incarnation. This is just my honest opinion, of course. YMMV.

  • @Digitalis thanks for your feedback. What device are you on, if you don't mind sharing? I'd be curious to benchmark it against what we're testing in-house. We do want to improve the speed and understand it's very slow for you right now. This will take time to address, but it's a priority.

  • Agree.

@NianticScot VZW, full bars 4g, Galaxy s8+. can't even submit portals while out in the field. Have to drive back home to wifi to finally submit. All the while I have no problems in other apps sending pictures and stuff.

  • @Deaf1 low signal place?

  • Deaf1Deaf1 ✭✭

    Nope

    That's odd, @Deaf1

I'm on a Galaxy s8+, full bars 4g (Sometimes 5g because we have that here in some places) but I have AT&T. Also, I've yet to try submitting portals, but everything else works just fine.

  • I only use REDACTED for uploading my stats screenshots.

Back to Level 14 after recursing and probably 95% of that was done on Prime.

The occasional freezes in Prime are the most annoying, but I couldn't do without the capsules names anymore. Linking is so so sooooooooooooooooo fast (especially if you manage your keys properly).

REDACTED is going away, I think it's better to switch to Prime now and help improving it than to keep complaining.

    Prime is a f$%#up

The sooner redacted goes away the better, as nothing will be holding back development on prime. I see a lot of comments here from people who simply don't know how things work in prime, such as complaints about no long presses to bring up actions (it's all swipe gestures now. No need to even hold your finger on the screen). It's just a different way of doing things, and once you get used to it, it is quicker.

You just have to actually try, and stop being so stubborn. Roll on September...

  • Prime is so slow compared to redacted !

  • MrVulgaireMrVulgaire ✭✭✭

Prime kills my battery very quickly...

  • As much as I dislike Prime, Niantic please drop support for [REDACTED] so these entitled choosing beggars learn how to code and make a superior game to yours.

All updates current for android system, verizon, motorola

prime will never be as fast as redacted - lets be real, the graphical interface itself is more processing power then redacted requires locally if nothing else.

i like prime. its not quite there but is close. i tell people all the time "they pokemoned my ingress and i like it"

if you can find a way to make white portals able to be differentiated from the scratches in my plastic screen it would go a long way towards me liking prime more - my two biggest complaints are how hard it is to see white portals, and how hard it is to find mods scrolling through the item menu.

small complaint over how charge all is too easy to accidentally select specific resonators when charging all and eating a power cube, small complaint over same issue deploying resonators generally where can accidentally tap to a specific spot.

else prime is pretty awesome. i get redacted is a bandaid, and i get eventually it will go away. progress happens.

redacted is a 2d game interface, prime is a 3d interface - both very different visual approaches to displaying the same thing.
