During the global drop of the the tessera "Perpetua Unmasked", when the hint of the links to the pdf files were given, there was a typo in the compose of one of the short url (the difference between l and L). Even though the hint was replaced as soon as this error was realized, it still inevitably created a distraction that slowed one of the teams down by the seconds.
When a "hint" is given, it is trusted to lead one onto the correct path. Yet, when the hint gives the wrong information ( in this case, the wrong between upper and lower case ) by accident, it takes the agents on the wrong path, and recalculation of previous steps unintentionally. There are times when red-herrings or clues take you on a detour. Detours ultimately bring you to the end point, and one's detour may be another's short-cut. This error, however, is not the case, added the delays in communicating the correction,
As the creator of the puzzle, does the Tethered Hand feel responsible, and would like to give the Resistance also the same 1 point for the redemption?
fair game , you're right.I believe ALL ENLs thought it's fair when Niantic said The Tessellation can gain badges and ENL was more than 20 points behind RES at that time .huh?
never mind ,sir.Even if 3 res vs 3 enl,res still can get the predicting placement, and I still don't underatand how someone can predict slowly than me, I have to predict 4 Tessera , answer 4 questions in round 9 & 10.🙄🙄
If the ENL wouldn't have complained about the exact same issue in the pass and have given 5 points for complaining, we wouldn't be doing this. ENL already established that complaining about typos gives you points, we are just followed that establishment accordingly so as to keep the same conditions fair for both factions.
If one faction can get 5 points for a typo, we can certainly get this one for the same reason.
Notice how the PAC's words were added to the Res complain because they fit this case so well.
Here's your TL;DR- the Tethered Hand has decided to give the Resistance1 Discovery point for Tessera Perpetua Unmasked. The Enlightened will be given 1 Placement point for Tessera Dunraven Participation.
If you have a little spare time, read-on. If not, get prepared for Round 11. I hear it could be tedious.
The path to completing the Tessellation certainly doesn't mean from now on we'll all reconcile and shake hands. At the same time, I imagine Nemesis is enjoying the little bit of dispute we're having right now. This game is a competition because of different beliefs as well as sometimes it is just exciting to defeat your enemies. It's fair for you to fight for and choose the viewpoint that will take your team to victory. We should just remember, ultimately the adjustments were made by the Tethered Hand. They claim to establish fairness, but we are also free to assume they're just looking for chaos. In plain terms, blame the Tethered Hand! (which I believe you already are) Also to clarify, the Enlightened Agents have not requested the amendment for Tessera Didact scoring. It was a decision made by the Tethered Hand during their post-mortem review.
The Tethered Hand has conveyed, they regret the errors made, and agreed with making amendments. Yet, at the same time they do not feel these issues fit the criteria. The question they always ask themselves, the NIA, and me, is this:
" Does the error exhaust the possibility of arriving at the solution before corrections were made? "
For Tessera Perpetua Unmasked, other functioning passcodes were listed in the announcement text. For Tessera Dunraven Participation, the Enlightened still have 2 candidates to make Predictions. ( Though the NIA is sincerely sorry about excluding Agent @hekili419. They mean no disrespect to your contribution, and thanks to @HendrikTovenaar for generously pointing that out asap.) In both cases there existed possibilities of a different past/present prior to the correction.
According to the Tethered Hand, in the end, the extra points were given, because errors for the most part, are just not fun.
Thanks to all the Agents for your attentive contributions.
Edit:
By blame the Tethered Hand, I meant blame the decision makers and not your enemy faction or comrades. All's fair in love and war, we appreciate you fighting and reporting what you do not deem fair. It's what moves us forward, if not becoming better, at least more understanding.
"Does the error exhaust the possibility of arriving at the solution before corrections were made?"
If this is the criterion for giving extra points, then why were the Enl gifted 5 points for the puzzle we solve without any corrections made? I'm just finding all these criteria and their applications very difficult to understand and follow...
I can see the Tethered hand trying to bring chaos into play by these actions... But even with that in mind some criteria are being given but they don't seem to match reality as much... 🤔🤔
“Also to clarify, the Enlightened Agents have not requested the amendment for Tessera Didact scoring. It was a decision made by the Tethered Hand during their post-mortem review.”
I have a small follow up request. Would it be possible for the Tethered Hand to shine some light on the Round 10 - Who Killed Ezekiel Calvin? targeted Tessera? I'm quite curious to know if the ability to find the solution before the puzzle's public release was expected, or if it's to be considered a mistake.
The difficulty of the puzzle suggests the latter, making it a candidate for the same ruling to apply as outlined in your post.
In defense of the choice of theterhand ( and @Truthseeker):
Think, in a challenge between two people, if the quiz had been a crossword puzzle where by mistake a definition is wrong (let's assume vertical).
It is possible that a person can solve the crossword puzzle correctly and in a short time simply by not reading that definition but by solving all the intersections.
The other person, on the other hand, could read that wrong definition and give an answer that he thinks is correct (or correct for that definition) which then blocks the whole game by not finding a match at any crossroads.
Even if the crossword is the same for both the result would be different but it doesn't mean that both have done the same puzzle or had the same chances, simply the first had the luck to start from horizontal definitions while the second from vertical.
Clearly this example challenge should therefore be cancelled because it is not possible to base a challenge on a quiz containing errors. Only a quiz without errors can be considered "equal".
@Truthseeker "kidobarret" in the Optima Departure's Fellow Discovers is misspelled. Correctly it is "kidobarrett" with one more "t" at the end. And I haven't got the Discover Badge yet. I would appreciate it if you could tell Tethered Hand about this.
I believe that I have found a Tesserra, but do not recall where i hacked it from. It was sometime early this week or late last week and am just now learning about the Tessellation. What should i do next?
Comments
Humanist Architype must have been claimed by ENL
1:55 - the "Humanist Archetype" results information is incorrect - should be ENL evoleno as First Discoverer and a Nemesis Prediction of I11.
No change to total score displayed at the end, it just appears the above information was not correctly displayed in the video.

Typo is public to any one. Fair game, fair results. If you really like this point, just take it.
Thanks to PAC's typo, Enl 'gained' 5 points at R7 lol.
We need a fair result like what you said ^_^
Are you really complaining for one of five link wrong for both factions? 😂
Let's talk about real errors and damages.. what are statements of TH about the verification of 4 res vs 2 enl in Dunraven Participation?
Our fellow agent @hekili419 couldn't predict at the time, And res had @321esnev added as 4th.

It was 4vs2.
@Truthseeker
Yep,bro
fair game , you're right.I believe ALL ENLs thought it's fair when Niantic said The Tessellation can gain badges and ENL was more than 20 points behind RES at that time .huh?
then ENL got 5 points like a free luch. lol
WELL DONE ENLs 😄😄

Me: I just want the gold badge 😄😁

Thank you, this really made my day.
I couldn't quote and post last week because I was not included discoverer.
As a result, I couldn’t contribute to the Enlightened (and maybe I will not earn “The Paragon”).
😁🙈

I still think that half predictions are not equivalent to a simple typo for both faction, but ok. Thanks for clarification.
I would blame Didact...
Hola, este medio ya no es útil por el momento.
hope you have a nice day, don’t forget turn on the switch🤭
It's quite interesting there're always some people believe what trends among them, trends everywhere else.
As an all time PC gamer, Ingress is fun enough for me in non PC devices. No more needed, ty.
I think I'm more shocked of PAC using TLDR than anything else in this post

Since the Tethered Hand talked about post-mortem, I would like to ask if they had done post mortem review on Round 4 live drop "Myriad" in Nashville?
