Ronald MacDonald isn't dead...he's probably been uploaded or connected to a grid somewhere and his mind is struggling to cope with the vast amounts of data going through it.

I've not uninstalled at all as i want and need to find out what's causing the glitch..the recent updates apply correctly but that's it...it doesn't fix the issue at hand plus if I uninstall I lose access to the fault issue files...everything was working fine up to the start of the umbra event in December and then after obtaining my first medal it all went screwy.

Ok I have portal scanning working, but I have a question about how it uploads. It tells me when I am finished, it will upload in the background. However, in settings, you have a dialog also called "Portal Scanning" and it has two buttons, one labeled "Upload Portal Scans" and a start button and another button called "Clear All". I've hit that start button but other than the wait thing going, nothing happens and I'm on wifi too. I've been watching this wait triangle thing go for about 20 minutes and still, nothing happens. If I want to get out of that window, it tells me, "This will cancel remaining uploads. Are you sure?" So what's going on?
I feel like Ingress is becoming a sandbox for Niantic (if it hasn't been since the beginning - I've only played for a few years). There are unresolved issues with the current client, but Niantic is putting in new stuff that probably won't even be used in Ingress, but rather in some other Niantic game.
I agree with you here.. the force use of AR CORE on Android within Pokémon Go is annoying compared to it running fine without it.. the Ingress sandbox is ok if we get to test it before the other games do...but just make it enjoyable for us to play/test and stop crashing our clients...oh wait I can't play with the newer releases...I've been crashed since December...silly me...and here's me thinking @NianticOfficial cares about its player base.
Something on this update onwards broke my Ingress completely on Android 6 on Huawei Honor 6. It is stuck on NIANTIC splash screen.
Tried clearing data, cache, reinstalling and nothing. I had to sideload 2.40.1 to play but now the update to 2.43.x is mandatory and I cannot play. Please NIANTIC fix this!

Except this is another bug.
If you set volume to 0% and you have headphones on, you can still barely hear all the game sounds. It's like the volume is not off, but 1%.
I don't mind hearing the sounds. I do mind the overly attached girlfriend and Ronald McDonald constantly yelling he's not dead.

Are you aware of reports of Ingress not loading at all on some older devices since the 2.41.4 update.
Is there a fix planned or new release?

Iphone 6s ios 11, crashes on launch. I hope it gets fixed. Haven’t been able to play for days.

Can you turn off the Wifi on your phone @jomzojeda . Mine seems to load better if I turn off the wifi.
13. The game seems to be more laggy than usual. At least when recharging, the accompanying sounds lag or don't play at all.
I tried both on mobile and wifi. Nothing.
Put the ambient sound to 0% and the voices will come back. Worked for me.

Hmm. What about uninstalling and reinstalling. I assume you tryed that also.

I think it is bug and hope @NianticBrian @NianticCasey fix the bug to world wide relese of portal scanning.
The metric has shown up and says I've uploaded 3 AR videos. I took 6 total so something is working. lol

That is almost literally how Niantic describes Ingress... A sandbox to test features
Honestly, I love the idea behind it, but like anything AR, for me it's a "try it once, disable it afterwards" kinda thing
