Add "Unsafe" as a reason for rejection

  • Public Parks

Public parks are great, high-quality places for Wayspots: they are common all around the world and encourage players to walk, exercise, and enjoy public spaces. However, park benches, picnic tables, or other common features might not meet criteria unless there is something significant about them.

Public Parks and National Parks are generally different. Public Parks normally would not have any hunting. Now, I am not saying exclude National Parks, as these parks usually have designated hunting areas AWAY from the normal pedestrian areas. So that would be fine, but adding Waypoints in the designated hunting areas would be dangerous and probably a liability.

  • People can't review as it is without using the wrong rejections. Saying part of a park is not acceptable isn't going to work. Because reviewers out of state don't know what locals know. First thing that will happen is people will google the state park and see that the park has hunting access and the whole park will be rejected as a result. It is the same thing you guys do on everything else. Literally.

  • The liability is on Niantic to make a decision. I don't think they will today or any time soon. But the decision has consequences that every one of you didn't expect. They can issue a clarification in wayfarer if they choose. But as it stands we are to follow what is written in wayfarer.

This was about HUNTING GROUNDS. Hunting grounds should not be accepted as its an adult oriented service. It wasnt about murals or art at a Hunting Ground or anything just Hunting Grounds. You are sitting here directly opposing what "is written" in Wayfarer help.

To be frank common sense should kick in here and dictate that you don't want a group of people surrounding or near people using firearms even if for recreation. Accidents happen on hunting trips all the time as it currently stands, adding more random pedestrians to the mix isn't going to help those numbers.

  • "A mural or candidate". .... Should be reviewed on its own merit.

Places like schools and private property say that we are to deny all nominations on those properties. Does this precedent extend to the denials that we are supposed to do on "Adult orientated Businesses" (**** clubs, liquor stores)? Example, a mural is painted on the wall of a marijuana shop. Are we to deny the mural because it's on a place that should not be accepted or are we to not worry about what type of business that it's on? The businesses themselves may not meet criteria since they would fall under generic businesses. A mural or candidate not related to the business should be reviewed on its own merit.

  • Hunting grounds sell licenses to hunt, it is still a business.

  • State parks sell licenses to hunt on State Parks.

  • AgentB0ssAgentB0ss ✭✭✭✭✭

The waypoint in question was a hunting ground, NOT a mural NOT another candidate unrelated to the business. The Business was the hunting ground so an adult service, an unsafe adult service. How can you argue that? Its not eligible, point blank and the period. NOT ELIGIBLE.

Sounds like a prime opportune time to do what you suggested and follow wayfarer guidelines to reject sh o o ting ranges.

And reject any and all playgrounds on said **** business since it would follow under the McDonald's Playground clarification from the AMA that stated they should be rejected now if part of a specific business.

Except for some reason shoo ting ranges tend not to have playgrounds, can't imagine why.

  • The waypoints in question were signs. Nothing else. Just signs. Something that is even read by Hunters....

  • I will gladly reject state parks if Niantic deems signs and art and other candidates at hunting grounds are not eligible. Because hunting grounds are at state parks. But it is against my wishes. As I was clear and fighting against it.

  • Your trail markers on hunting grounds. They should be removed too.

  • GearGliderGearGlider ✭✭✭✭✭

Whose traimarkers? You need to link to the hunting grounds trailmarkers if you want to make a removal appeal. And put the removal request in the appropriate section of the forum.

  • AgentB0ssAgentB0ss ✭✭✭✭✭

Yes SIGNS about and on the hunting ground. That would be unsafe.

As far as your trail markers remark, yes on hunting groups the trail markers shouldn't be POI. MOST parks are not classified as hunting grounds.

@NianticCasey Mind weighing in on the debate regarding hunting grounds.

  • AgentB0ssAgentB0ss ✭✭✭✭✭

First you need to request the removal in game then if its rejected submit an appeal using the appropriate forum.

Agentb0os you are saying any hunting grounds shouldn't have wayspots. So All State Parks that have wayspots would be in trouble of compliance. So art, trail markers, etc... At State parks would be required to be removed.

Being we are talking about the USA and all state parks, that would be a Niantic thing to just Removal all easier than everyone submitting and removing individudal ones.

They have removed some portals like water fountains and fire stations in the past, and FAQ says they can handle density issues. This is a issue for them to address with the removals.

  • State Parks are hunting grounds that have certified licenses given to hunters to hunt on the grounds at the State Park.

  • AgentB0ssAgentB0ss ✭✭✭✭✭

First off... Not all state parks allow hunting. Second they have designated hunting areas away from the main pedestrian areas. Stop twisting this and saying ALL State Parks should be removed.

You are going from 0 to 100 from 1 extreme to the other.

  • AgentB0ssAgentB0ss ✭✭✭✭✭

What does this even have to do with this TOPIC? Random Fact of the day?

  • How is that not on topic. If you are saying safety is a concern. That you don't want players at risk. If the United States has a National program that monitors hunting on State parks. A state park is a hunting ground than and should be removed the same as you are saying about the original OP sign on hunting grounds. You can't have both. You can't say nothing is allowed on Hunting Grounds because of safety. But oh this State Park that is also a hunting ground is allowed wayspots because it is also a hunting ground for hunters that is the same potential risk to the players safety. You might want to actually do some research on this topic before you continue more.

  • State parks and public parks in all states have different hunting licenses and different locations eligible during different hunting seasons. An example. 121 parks and 20 state forest in Pennsylvania would be at jeoprady. That is just one state. We are talking about 50 states plus USA Terriorities.

I was saying "State Parks are hunting grounds that have certified licenses given to hunters to hunt on the grounds at the State Park." wasnt on topic as its just a random tidbit of information nothing to do with the convo.

As I mentioned in my previous post, not all state parks are hunting grounds and the ones that do have hunting grounds its away from the pedestrian areas such as tourist attractions.

Example: You wouldnt see someone hunting at Old Faithful because its not in the designated hunting area as its a tourist area.

Example: You wouldnt see someone hunting at Thunder Hole because its not in the designated hunting area as its a tourist area.

  • Because how far do you take safety. A gun shot the bullet can travel how far away in distance. It would be your circle radius around the hunting grounds that would be needed to be isolated.

Nothing to do with it, its like the past all over again

Amazing how their posts reminds me of other posts from a now banned person who kept derailing topics with conversations, kept repeatedly lying and spreading misinformation, until the point they were banned.

And also the other account, that turned up, again spread misinformation, repeatedly spammed the forum and either intentionally or through stupidity kept spreading misinformation until they were banned

I wonder why those two forum posters come to mind .....

  • It would depend on the rifle. It would depend on the distance a bullet could travel. It would depend on if the park routes different seasons with different areas. A lot of things occur with hunting at parks. State and public parks have hunting going on to manage wild life herds. You are the one bringing up that it should be worried about player safety. So clarify your opinion.

  • Its a lie that State parks are also hunting grounds? Public parks have hunting grounds?

  • AgentB0ssAgentB0ss ✭✭✭✭✭

Thank you for that link! Wonderful details:

All 20 of Pennsylvania’s state forests, totaling 2.2 million acres, and 97 of the 121 state parks are open to hunting during established hunting seasons.

    -----State Forest(Not Park)

----- 97 of 121 parks are open to hunting (See below For more details)

Many areas in our 121 state parks are open to hunting, offering a variety of game species and habitats. Hunting woodchucks, also known as groundhogs, is prohibited.

Hunters should use extreme caution with firearms at all times. Other visitors use the park during hunting seasons.

Firearms and archery equipment used for hunting may be uncased and ready for use only in authorized hunting areas during hunting seasons.

In areas not open to hunting or during non-hunting seasons, firearms and archery equipment shall be kept in the owner's car, trailer, or leased campsite.

The only exception is that law enforcement officers and individuals with a valid Pennsylvania License to Carry Firearms may carry said firearm concealed on their person while they are within the park.

    _______________________________________________________

Also would like to add these are not like neighborhood parks or town parks people use for soccer or anything else. These large state parks generally don't have as many Waypoints as its usually very untouched land unless its a national park with tourist activities.

  • If niantic is to deem hunting grounds as not safe. They would have to zone off the parks that have them. To ensure that the proper distance is met to be safe for the players. It wouldn't be a player based removal situation. Because it could be abused to easily which doesn't do anything for safety.
