The fact that it's indoors isn't the problem. It's that it's in a theme park and the display is of a mass produced toy. Every aspect of Disney properties is themed. What is a significant enough decoration to be a wayspot?
This lightsaber display is in the line for a meet and greet/ride. I'd lean more towards the ride be submitted as one unit and not everything within it be submitted in pieces.
From a museum perspective, the contents of any glass exhibit case can be changed at any time. I'd expect a major theme park to refresh their displays periodically. That is probably why you got "seasonal display" as a rejection reason. The exhibit case may be permanent, but the same can't necessarily be said about the lightsaber.
I got an indoor nomination approved first try (OPR, pre-Wayfarer), and I've seen plenty of others go live recently. If it's a good nomination, it should go through, especially with a photosphere.
Indoor submissions are in the January 2020 wayfarer update. Stating they are allowed. Periodic updates to a location are easy to remove and resubmit. Most interior renovations aren't done for years...
Nobody said indoor submissions aren't allowed but not everything indoors qualifies to become a wayspot. It's not art, a statue or mural is it? It's a mass produced toy with no historical value and doesn't seem to fit any other overarching criteria.
Acceptable: Mounted or free-standing murals, paintings, fountains, sculptures, etc. in a mall or the lobby of a business that also meet the criteria of being visually unique and locally significant.
Not acceptable: Mounted or free-standing murals, paintings, fountains, sculptures, etc. on or within 40 meters of private residences.
It was clearly updated. Locally significant... Disney World can have Darth Vader's Lightsaber!
Let me ask you something, just to make you understand. You are submitting this fake/real replica of an lightsaber that contain in an glass in an BUSY place with hardly an safe access to roam around in this indoor environment with too many people. Can you visit this POI everyday? I bet not. This lightsaber is just an mass produce prop/replica that does not meet the criteria. Yes, this is indoor BUT you are not thinking correctly about the area surrounding this product. Do you know that Disney World always change things around as it cannot be permanent display. It's nothing to do with Disney or Star Wars. It's about real world situation about how safe this POI can be and how permanent can it be.
Everything in the world changes eventually. Tower of terror has been there for 20+ years. I think it's a guarantee with Disney+ and how big starwars is to the world.
An statue of Darth Vader is acceptable criteria because it's FIXED in place and permanent. That light saber is not fixed like **** in to the stand in anyway because It can be remove at any time and they will put something else can be place such as Han Solo's gun for instance. That's how the reviewer were correct in the first place. It's just an seasonal display that not permanent fixed in place.
The light saber in the glass display is NOT fixed permanent display. They will eventually will change it like put in Han Solo's gun instead and the light saber will be place in the different Star Wars ride instead. An statue of Darth Vader are more acceptable than just an prop. Thats why the reviewer are corrected to be seasonal display because it's an prop and they will change it one day.
What you dont understand is that this is not an FIXED and pernament display. They can move this prop in different rides eventually and in place something different like Han Solo's blaster or something. An statue of Darth Vader is alot more accessable because it's fixed to the ground and very likely an pernament display.
With this prop being a small piece of a larger bit of theming, I think the area should have one defining submission, not something for each individual item on display.
Is the community center already an accepted wayspot? In my area, it is common to have an indoor gym with basketball court and an adjoining stage. These rooms are referred to as cultural halls. None of them appear as waypoints separate from the church building. I wouldn't expect them to be considered eligible if they weren't named in memorial for a local member of the community.
In short, wrong reject reason, but I wouldn't expect nominations like that to get much traction.

Indoor Wayspots

You are not understanding. The problem was never that it was indoors. Indoor wayspots have always been acceptable.
The problem is the object you are submitting doesn't meet any criteria.
You are not reading. Visually unique to an area, doesn't mean one of a kind. Locally significant is being in Disney world. It qualifies.
STARWARS LAND!!!
Does a lightsaber fall under the same category as guns? Or would it be okay since it's a more elegant weapon of a civilized age?
Good luck

It's on a starwars ride at disney world starwars land.

Lots of things are not reachable by one person everyday. Disney world is open 365. It already has portals but not many in the area of starwars land.

Freestanding sculpture is allowed.
Visually unique and Local and significant. Starwars land is an example. Its allowed. A local video game store with a mounted mural is allowed.
How come my comment noting that this is yet another Timerciock ban evading account was removed? How is that violating anything?

No doubt the wrong reason.

well, what's the difference between a basketball court outside of the community centre vs. one on the inside?
