Unexpected forum logouts

The forum occasionally decides that I am not logged in for no particular reason. It may be because it's X days since I last logged in, but since X is not documented and seems to be several days, it looks random.
So we get silly situations like: I load a discussion from the Recent Discussions page, and read the new comments. Because I'm logged in, I am allowed to post, so I type a reply and then press the Post button and it replies "sorry you don't have permission to do that" because it randomly logged me out while I was typing.
I think the forum would be better if it didn't do that. Ideally it should refresh the login time every time I interact with it.

If it's the standard Google Login, it's either 24h or 48h (which will reset Everytime you use it)
For Intel it's 24h, so I assume it's similar here
That would not at all explain what I am seeing. I certainly don't get asked to log in every 24h - it isn't even every week.
The login token expires after 24/48h if it isn't renewed.
Each page visit renews it.
So if you visit the community at least once a day, you shouldn't be logged out ever.
Think of it like the sojourner badge.

But I am sometimes, and that's what this thread is about.
