I agree. I get that someone designed it and was sad to see it go, but make it completely optional, so I can turn it off everywhere.
When the flame is completely gone, make us see other resonators and portals if they’re nearby when in the recharge screen, fading all else to black seems overkill.
Any Idea's when the next release/patch is due out,as this version is the first one that has failed on me to the point that I can't load the game properly past the initial logon/start screens....I have posted separately about this here

Customer Support don't seem interested but just reply with the usual templates of *we have passed your details over to the team" or "we are not getting wide spread issues so it's not a issue with the scanner technology" yet not one of the previous updates has done this at all.
The loading process gets as far as the logon screen and then where it is supposed to switch to the login globe looking for my location and ADA states downloading latest intel and then the map screen loads all these are gone including the voice files it then takes me to a blank screen with no HUD/OSD but with three square nearby portal bubbles layered on top of each other and theres the usual background music and after this nothing happens.. I've took a video file of this occurrence and images for proof but as of December 21st I have yet to go out and maintain my network and have lost out on my soujourner status as well so this will be the 3rd time now I've got to start it from scratch but first time for the major failure with the app all other bugs/glitches I've put up with but this is a major fail for me.

P.s The Other Niantic Games POGO & HPWU Work & load fine on my device but playability wise Ingress Has been my go to first Daily App.
I am still running 2.37.3 on one of my devices and wasn't forced to upgrade yet. At some point I started backing up all my apps (not just Ingress) before updating them, so if I don't like the newer version or if something is not working properly, I can always install my backed-up older version. I use a paid version of Solid Explorer for that; I'm on Android. I definitely recommend backing up Ingress before updating it with so many things going wrong.
@PhantomR1982 what you're describing sounds like an account-specific issue, possibly unrelated to the client or this specific version. It'd be helpful to know what device and Android version you're on, and just a heads up that our team will be back after New Year's.

@Itsutsume Yeah I used to do that a lot using APK Extractor (also on Android) but I was getting far too many to handle backed up so stopped for a while,I just wished I had backed up my Ingress Prime Version as well...I guess you don't expect an app to be released with so many bugs *runs & hides in the shadows*
@NianticBrian I'm currently running a Nokia 7.1 (8 core CPU) with 3gb of ram & started off on Stock Android One 8 then 8.1/ and currently Android One 9.0 with patches up to the 1st December 2019,I've avoided updating to the Android 10 Update for now that's sitting in my update box yet it will eventually be forced on me in January 2020,Ingress Prime does **** the battery on this device though max 2hrs 30 mins to 3 hours of play time (out of a 3050mah battery which I used to get on an 1800mah battery previously) before I need to get back to a charging point or a battery pack so this puts me off attending 6hr+ events at present also.
Also it was fine up until the Umbra Bronze First Medal was awarded then that's when it started to go crazy...the YouTube video link shows what I now have when I startup the app.
All in all it's only a year old on December 31st 2019 and has done some serious trekking with me up until this update that's rendered me offline,maybe push the 2.37 update back down to devices via the play store so I can possibly get back into it lol.

I see Im not the only one requesting the red dot on the very north resonator slot. @6rouge had mention it also. The reason I would like to see the red dot is because when you click on the portal to recharge or to deploy a res the compass is gone. Its the mod boxes that cover up the compass or the text at the top the screen that covers up to compass. Take a look at that and see if you can fix it @NianticOfficial . If you fix the compass there is no need to have the red dot...
Well, there was a game mechanic in prime that showed with visual aid how var the resonator is placed from the center. I would like that back. But I really want us to be able to select the resonator slot we want to deploy and have it displayed as such in the client. In redacted, you could place the reso at NNW, and it would stay in place even if you moved. Right now, you see the resonator where it is from your point of view, which is jus let weird.

The problem I have @Jo0Lz is when you click on a portal to either deploy or recharge the compass gets covered up by the 4 mod boxes. When clicking on the portal its turns either left or right and with the mod boxed covering up the compass you cant tell what direction you are facing...
For reference, Redacted always showed the resonator placement by your own point of view, or rather the base camera rotation. However, the difference was that we could easily mentally rotate ourselves, because there was a red dot that always pointed north. @NianticBrian if you only do one thing in the next release, bring back the red dot.

The circle radius depends on the avatar.
This does not feel like a bug to me, but rather a design mistake. I hope it will be fixed in the future 2.39.x .

Only the original avatar has a large circle for me. ENL and res avatar have smaller circle. Toast is nonsense, I didn’t buy it to test.

If they’ve been silent this long they might be taking an extended break or working on a major update.
