Jesus, is the ground xm visibility issue over for the boomers yet? Because my god, for me it already looked ridiculously overdone in previous iterations. And now, ground xm visibility doesn't seem to respond to dynamic lighting settings anymore. Is this intended behavior?
Well, what do we have.Firstly, now an "error connection with store" message appears on start. Then, inventory lags a bit because of store(i'd like to have an option to disable it). Also few bugs,eg sometimes Portal can be not in center of screen while recharging.Or my gf had a strange duplicated screen UI(photo attached, sorry for bad quality).Seems count in scores still sometimes laggy. And freezes/FC during active recharging(i think it's a memory leak somewhere). And a "aware surroundings" notification,it's only English.
Oh,and alerts, they still may "not be",still no "ingame sound"(problem for AOSP 7 and below) and still can load upto 30sec in comm/notifications after push message arrived(sometimes it's even faster to find key than wait when notification chat will refresh)(yes, that ruins defensive actions).
>UI: Added help text to indicate why a portal link cannot be created, ex. “Outbound portal link limit reached” and “Linking not possible while under field.”
Still no mention of the vanishing "manage" button for containers and items with prolonged or frequent use of them? It requires a restart every time, which makes it hard to have an organised inventory and get keys from the unique containers as needed.
Adding the store category to the carousel is so stupid, I'm leaving my first comment on these forms to say so. I understand the need to improve Ingress's bottom line, but making a game change that will only serve to annoy is a terrible way to attempt this. Remove it from the carousel. I probably will spend less money on frackers, etc. now as a matter of fact, since there's pressure to spend money directly from the item carousel now. I love this game, but changes like this reeeeally make me question what y'all are doing :/
For what it's worth, I enjoy Ingress so much, I would jump at a reasonably priced opt-in subscription without any additional benefit to gameplay. I understand the gravity of the sustainability situation, as I think most do given what we know of game-specific player bases, and for that reason in itself would be happy to voluntarily contribute to the ecosystem. I understand that a more structured system with mild in-game benefits would likely be a more sustainable model, but voluntarily cheap/tiered subscriptions are still potentially a lot more than nothin'
I mean hey; there's no direct gameplay buff to recursion, but recursing has caught on pretty well! ^_^
As an idea, it might not be my favorite, but I can accept it. The Store category comes at the end of the carousel, after my already paid-for items. It’s out of the way, and I can see a certain logic in grouping the already paid-for and yet to be paid-for items together.
Now, let’s talk about what’s actually in the Store category. I see a Rare Attack Bundle, a Common Builder Bundle, and a Fracker 25-pack. One of these is not like the others. The Attack and Builder bundles are under 5 USD, which feels like a reasonable price point for a “small” transaction. The Fracker pack is 30-ish USD, which feels blatantly money grabby in comparison, especially because there’s no indication that the “real” Store has less expensive options. (Perhaps this is because I’ve only ever bought Frackers in packs of 5.)
On a more technical note, please, for the love of all that is holy, pay attention to the details! The following is cringe worthy:
This Builder Bundle allegedly includes R1s through R6s. You wouldn’t know it from this window though. There’s no scrolling through the items, and the description is in the background and darkened to the point of illegibility.
As a software developer, I get it. 80% of the time and effort goes into the last 20% of the feature, rounding off all the rough edges. However, all that effort is the difference between, “yeah, ok, whatever, this mostly gets the job done”, and “wow, this is nice.”
I gave the speedlock fix a test last night. Flipped back and forth between apps while traveling long distances. I was able to play Ingress immediate after pulling it out of the background every time I tried. Also got speedlocked at fair and appropriate times.
Out of my complaints, only this one has been fixed:
8. In Activities/Chat/Alerts, I have X in a circle at the bottom covering messages.
Still slow, still takes forever to load anything. Even with Prime running, by the time it finally shows me the message with my portal being attacked, that portal could be taken out already.
Sorting by name still doesn't work, and that's really annoying, to have to restart Prime every time I get out of key list back to the map, even by accident.
For vibration - I was hoping they would allow to set intensity. Instead, they made none/default/all options. But that's fine, I can live with that.
Adding store to inventory sucks. Store is what I can buy, Inventory is what I have. Don't mix the two.
I agree that tapping anywhere on the map to go to previous screen is more of annoyance than feature,
I also agree that ADA saying "Link possible" mean just that - that you can throw a link, not that you should stop and check to see if you really can throw a link. Maybe we should give Niantic a dictionary so that they learn what "public" and "possible" mean 😄
But yes, forgot to add that, the message is annoying. Can't we have it on the screen while Prime loads up, like it was with Redacted? Considering how long it takes Prime to load, everyone will have a chance to ponder over the message 😄
@NianticBrian If you want to make Ingress survive long term, give us back Redacted, the client that actually worked and was visible to EVERYONE and not just a select few.
This is a self made problem. My city of 500k is now a GHOST TOWN because nobody wants to SUFFER through the steaming pile that is Prime.
Seriously. Nobody but Niantic is killing this game right now.
@Chicken3gg we use crowd-sourced translations and I can change "Kraftverstärker" to "Force Amp" in the German-language version. Is there a better German translation, or is "Force Amp" preferred?
What are the other missing or inaccurate translations you're seeing? Thank you for the heads up.
+1 to the pop up warning every time you open the app being annoying and unnecessary. If you can't just embed the warning in the loading info, adding a 'don't show again' checkbox to let us hide it once we've seen it once would help.
If you've put it in because of legal advice, please consider geofencing it to just countries plagued by out of control lawyers and obsessed with warning stickers. Those of us who can be trusted with car mirrors that don't have an 'objects may appear...' warning sticker can be trusted to walk around the streets safely!
There's an issue in polish version of Prime, the first one (overlapping required medals position on shortcut "wym" ) is from the very beginning of Prime, and the second one, weird {0} showed up after today's update, so please fix it.
@Toxoplasmolly the three featured bundles in the inventory carousel are currently the three top-purchased items on the Store. I can change the Fracker 25-pack to a smaller, less expensive bundle. We're also aware that the load out card preview is limited to displaying 4 items, and will make adjustments to what items are featured here.
@EvilSuperHeros I realize it takes longer to manually acknowledge and dismiss the safety message, but we need to include them. The language and tap to acknowledge behavior is something you may have seen on other Niantic games.
One more thing, idk if this is a bug or what, sometimes app stuck on "location acquired" with planet still spinning, then i can see that error from store and...all,planet keeps spinning like looking for location. One restart on my Moto Z2 solved that, but it was pretty annoying on my old Redmi 4x.
Another vote for the safety note dialogs being incredibly annoying when I suddenly get to see and manually close them *every* time the client gets launched rather than having stayed running on the background.
I have nothing against the general idea of reminding players about basic safety etc, but surely there can be some kind of less permanently annoying way of doing that, which still makes lawyers and whatnot sufficiently happy too?
Comments
Still freezing 🤦🏻♂️
The nano packs are (currently) L1-6 only.

Stop it already.

Anyway,thanks for an update!
Bugfix: Quickly create links, even when skipping link animations.
Sorry but you failed again.
I usually make 40 outbound links from one portal near park. The park and nearby area include 43 portals and i usually choose portals to link with.
But today after update I made all 43 links. And only 37 of them are live. 5 keys are lost!!!
They are not in my inventory. They are just lost.
All links were made via skipping animation.
>UI: Added help text to indicate why a portal link cannot be created, ex. “Outbound portal link limit reached” and “Linking not possible while under field.”
it's a small thing, but thanks for this :)
Well it finally works again :D

Very choppy indeed, the FPS drops from 30/60 to around 4 when store carousel is active
Still getting random crashes,
Like this and various other deadlocks.

Thanks for this fix.
Pop-up safety messages? Anyway to disable this annoyance?
Having a pop-up that you have to tap each time you start the app up?
In Redacted it showed up on the boot up screen and was unobtrusive. Now it's just annoying.
Great update, cheers!

UX: Updated default vibration settings and added Vibration slider to Settings menu
Woohoo! I can glyph hack as the heavens intended, without everything else going *bzzz bzz bzzzz*.
How in the world I was able to survive playing 7 years of Ingress without:
"UI: Added updated safety messages to app loading, ex. “Remember to be alert at all times. Stay aware of your surroundings.”"
You must be one lucky son of a gun 😄

This. Everything you just said!
Hay un bug que cuando cambias códigos el escáner se queda trabado y no te notifica lo que el código te ha dado.
