[REDACTED]'s closing effects on OPR

We're all various levels of pretty bummed that Scanner [REDACTED] is closing, but it'll have effects on OPR, that I'm hoping will be for the better.
With the 14 submissions per Scanner loophole, a lot of people were using all 28 every baker's fortnight. I'm hoping that the large backlog starts to get cleared a bit with the max number of submissions now halved.
Also, with edits being restricted to level 8, and location edits to 12, hopefully there's a lot less edit abuse from bad apples.

Hopefully, though i tried to use all 28...but quickly ran out of nominations and barely use 14 a month anymore. So the backlog effect might not be overly huge as far as number of submissions go at least.
Any agents that are Retiring with Redacted probably wherent doing OPR lately anymore so that shouldn't make much difference there either
Or these agents will go on OPR now that they have more time free from not playing and just 1* everything to stick it to Niantic and the Prime Players, no longer caring if they get banned.
I barely used the extra 14 subs most times. The only occasions when I dipped into those extra 14 was when I entered an area that had few, if any, portals and plenty of potential candidates. But most times, I would use Redacted to submit since it was faster and didn't bog me down to writing a description for an obvious approval, like a church, playground, or park.
Because of Pokemon Go nominations, the backlog will never be cleared.
This was never a loophole. Niantic mentioned it was on purpose to get people to try prime and get more portals submitted while they were transitioning. It was a planned feature not an unintended feature.
There will likely be a speeding up on responses in areas where pogo does not have submissions as we clear out redacted submissions and it drops the amount back down.
It wasn't a loophole, it was deliberate.
The number if people ragequitting is small but noisy. OPR will go on.
We will see if those will trend downward after today. But Redacted's retirement didn't have much of an affect on today's results.
Honestly I don't think so. We are likely to stay the same or gain more as they fix the glitch with facebook login and more people hit 12. I think the people that left with redacted probably quit voting and submitting eons ago.
As a matter of fact was is it NianticBrian that said the reason why we got the extra 14 submissions on reddit?
The reason was Redacted and Prime have different back ends. It was to complicated to have one submission counter for both apps so they were kept separate. it was also a sweetener to get people using Prime as early as possible.
With the number of PoGo players at Level 40 and the clamoring of PoGo players to get their submission options in places they don't currently have: Redacted's impact on OPR is small scale.
I, for one, am looking forward to the end of single-image nominations.
Oh not to mention now since that go hub post people are demanding niantic give pogo access to opr right this second acting entitled and then trying to blame agents for gatekeeping them out. To be honest do they even realize how many play the other games and ingress just don't want people knowing so they aren't being begged for stop submissions?
Yea been called an elitist multiple times on reddit because of posting against wide open access lol
The people who do OPR today, are not quitting. The people who are quitting, stopped doing OPR a long time ago.
All this talk of a boycott has got me doing OPR more lately.
I get the fear. PoGo players have proven time and time again that they don't care about the portal network.
But if we could get a better test for OPR, and clearer rules that aren't contradictory, and a test for submitters, hopefully, the volume of reviewers would help smooth out the bad actors. That's what Crowd Sourcing was supposed to be in the first place.
Once the US and the rest of Europe gets submission access, we're going to need more reviewers, and PoGo is the only logical source.
Things are looking good so far.
Was about to post that, but you just beat me to it.
Well the first full day without Redacted saw 659 more reviews than the day before.
Agreements will continue to. Tick over, even if less people were reviewing.
Any changes, such as a significant drop. In reviewers, will take time to manifest.
Personally, I think more people will pick opr up, simply because they don't wish to play with prime as much....
It always varies. It usually has the most toward the beginning of the week and less on the weekend. I don't anticipate much of a difference in the near term.
Sorry but is the daily number agreements or reviews?
I thought it was agreements - but now I'm unsure.
I think what he meant was alot of people have reviewed portals that are in limbo waiting on like 1 or 2 more reviews to reach an agreement. So you could stop doing OPR days ago but keep getting agreements.
Personally I don't see it making a difference, except maybe now ALL submissions will have 2 photos, that might make each review a touch quicker
Remember in the week before upgrades started it averaged around 60k per faction per day.
No one posted the numbers from the last checking, but they are still holding steady if not trending slightly up.
I've put in more reviews since Redacted went, than I had in the months preceding it. All this talk of boycotts has gotten me back into reviewing.
It's the daily number of reviews broken down by faction.
The key point is that if anything, it's going up.
I would agree, I didnt expect it to change much. even still a slightly increase is nice.
Is it reviews or is it agreements? I don't think that has ever been clarified.
