Is it time Niantic cracks down on abuse of the supporting statement and photos?

This is a good example the supporting statement should be taken seriously. Anyone thinking they can send in text that is inappropriate and breaks ToS should be punishable along with the photo having ToS breaking rules such as inappropriate body part pictures etc.

Are you complaining about a supporting statement by what looks to be a kid saying thank you for reviewing ? Or are you trying to say that statement is a good one?
Theres already an abuse button in OPR, if.you feel the support statement is being abused then use it and let Niantic deal with the submitter
Niantic hasn't clarified on the supporting statements and a 10 year old submitting portals should raise a flag if true. In the united states the age for even having an online presence is age 13 not to mention this is not a pogo submission.
Children can play Ingress, Pogo etc as long as they have a Niantic Kids account its fully compliant with US online presence laws.
Theres no reason a 10 year old can't make a good quality submission, so why would it raise flags ?
And why would they need to clarify on abuse in a support statement ? If theres something rude or abusive there then report it on the abuse button, i doubt they imagined anyone would look at it and think, well its being abusive but as its in the support statement i don't know if I should report it. But if you feel you need further clarification then i suggest you raise it at the next AMA
Niantic does not allow child accounts to submit pokestops in eligible countries under 13 as far as I am aware with the social restrictions.
Pogo no, but they havent altered the Ingress T&C yet to include that bit, they probably will at some point but currently they havent, and as this isnt a Pogo sub then as it stands its a valid sub
The rules stand at age 13. You have to be age 13 to create a facebook or google account. It used to be age 18.
Wrong.
Just googling "Google accounts under 13" found the steps to make one
You can create a Google Account for your child under 13 (or the applicable age in your country), and manage it using Family Link.
It would help if you researched things before you state them as fact. This isn't abuse and you don't know if this kid is with their parents who are supervising their activities.
Still posting a name and age in OPR is a no no. I don't think it is appropriate.
You are welcome to report it. None of it will go live if the portal is accepted so unless it's actually abusive/harassment I wouldn't personally waste my time.
But also please remember that things you think are inappropriate do not always equal illegal/against laws.
These submission statements are completely useless anyway. I never read them.
Then you are doing the submitters a disservice.
I have used the sub statement to describe a POI's location with regards to an existing portal so the location can be confirmed, used it to include weblinks to a local trail which has map locations of the trail markers so can confirm the POI is valid and in the correct place.
I'm not alone in doing this, I routinely see good further additional information for a sub included in the submission statement and that can be used to prove a candidate's worth.
Just to blanket say they are useless is inaccurate.
Wrong.
It doesn't matter if this kid is with his parents and being supervised. It would help if you researched things before stating them as fact. A simple google search and some clicks will find you this page which clearly states: "Unfortunately, no children may play Ingress."

That's my bad about the parental supervision part but I was mostly commenting on the claim that legally 13 yos can't have an online presence or Google/fb accounts
What's wrong with this supporting statement?
If the submitted doesn't have anything relevant to say, why shouldn't they be able to use it in a way they see fit. Thanking reviewers is a nice thing to do. If it bothers you, skim over it, or report it if you feel you must.
The kid is likely playing with his parents, and didn't include a last name, so if they're ok with him typing that, it's not our place to judge them.
Some people really need to lighten up! This is a game, and we shouldn't worry about things that don't have any significant negative impact. Let it go!
You shouldn't be skipping them. Submission statements allow for a lot of useful info (and URLs) that can't be put into descriptions. They can make or break a nomination in many cases.
I agree "submission statement" is super-useful, even in ways that may not been foreseen? I notice some players obviously get flustered - do they have trouble justifying their "halfway there" portal submission? Just gives us more to work with as reviewers.
That said, where is official Niantic guidelines for what the "support page" could contain? I see both URLs and pictures with people as being OK as it's temporary, but some reviwers may follow the MAIN picture rules and decline.
URLs aren't hurting anything in the supporting statement honestly they give more credence if the agent takes the time to check the address out for more information
