He was clear with what he wrote. He had over a month to clarify the answers..... why argue his decision when it's been asked and answered. Can't say he wasnt clear and wasnt aware of my opinions previously. People including me tag him in the chain above before his answers were issued. He could of easily chimed in any time and further clarified. He hasn't because he made his decision in the AMA. If he clarifies than you are correct. But as it stands it is valid to submit based on the AMA's. If you disagree with him, you should have your question ready for October.
I don't disagree with him, he is clear. I disagree with you because you have demonstrated an clear lack of understanding and basic reading abilities. Krug not responding to you does not mean you are correct.
Excuse me? You are flat out wrong. The never said that. This is agents making their own rules. They like unique and interesting portals but no there is not a requirement on visuals or uniqueness. I don't get why people even say this is a playground visually unique not in most cases same with a basketball court.
Add in military bases as they are 1* period now as Krug has stated the 1* overrides any valid categories on any new portal submissions on a military base.
I am providing valid portal ideas that are for parks for areas around the world that are defined by criteria and now the AMA.
Per August 2019, fountains must have foot access to be approved. Parks have foot access for fountains.... Art isn't a requirement for everything, it is an acceptable portal criteria only and makes them different from other acceptable portals. If pavilions and playgrounds don't need to be pretty to meet the criteria of being accepted, Then other submissions can as well. Generic things are being approved daily and Niantic is allowing it per the AMA response with Playgrounds being acceptable now at a common generic areas like McDonalds and chicfila.... They aren't pretty... They are not unique... But they are acceptable as they are defined to be acceptable. Same goes with Drinking water fountains. They are defined as fountains. They are defined as in parks where things are allowed to be common and a safe place for people to play. They have foot access as they have sidewalks to and from them. They are a community gathering spot for the community when at the park for recreation or sports activities as it promotes hydration. They are a valid portal by definition. People want to see where things are clearly written. That is clearly written in my opinion that they are allowed. As i originally said..... Uniqueness is not a mandatory criteria required for portals. Niantic specifically says Parks are common amongst the world. They are a community gathering spot. A hyper local spot for the community to visit and have functions with them, and specifically allow them to be built for events to promote hydration for the players. Parks promote hydration because they have drinking water fountains. They are a hidden gem of some areas, because people don't even know must of them exist, and when its hot out most people are a little thirsty that they use them. They are fixed permanent structures that are not temporary and can be used all year round. They can be seen from satellite view, which per AMA August 2019, is acceptable for portal submissions, and do not need a Photosphere for them to be approved as they are visible from the satellites. They are a valid portal and meet plenty of criteria. People say let me see specifics... I give you specifics and you still argue that niantic is not clear about what is acceptable.. Idiotic. I am guess Hooked on phonics did not work for you. Because a fountain that has foot access is a valid portal per AMA August 2019. How you can disagree with a fountain that has foot access when it is clearly written by August 2019 AMA, is idiotic. They are allowed. End of discussion. If Niantic disagree's they will chime in to clarify. But as it stands, i am per AMA August 2019. I will be submitting them because they are valid by definition. Definition of a fountain is what???? Definition of a "Fountain" https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/fountain Okay definition of a "Drinking Water Fountain" a device in a public place that produces a stream of water for people to drink from.... It is acceptable. Water sprouts from it. It is a fixed structure in a public place.... At parks it is not a private residence. It is not a natural feature, it is a man-made feature at a natural feature. Parks are natural features but allowed per guide. It is not a body part. It is not a live animal. It is not a person. It is not a seasonal display. There is clear written criteria allowing them now with foot access for fountains being acceptable. Per guide they are acceptable as of AMA August 2019.
If you disagree with me, you should have your questions ready for October, because as written it is valid. Just like the person who asked the question with the Apartments who was rejected on his opinion, you will be on these, as it is clearly written and allowed.
These are things in Parks. Parks specifically calls out Parks have "Common all around the world and encourage players to walk, exercise and enjoy public places."
Help specifically says... "High-quality portal candidates are those that help agents discover and enjoy their community" While using a park, people love the ability to have water when thirst while exploring the park....
Adventurous tourist attractions - "etc..." Water fountains promote hydration while exercising in a park and are a tourist attraction when used in the park...
Hidden gem or hyper local spot.... A popular local spot that you would take a friend visiting your community to the first time. When at the park here man, this is the drinking water fountain, get your exercise but stay hydrated.... A popular spot where locals gather but may be lesser known outside the community. Most people don't even know drinking water fountains exist in parks for recreation and sports use. More off-the-beaten path tourist attractions. If you weren't a local you wouldn't necessarily know to go here... Again most community members don't even know the locations of the drinking water fountains because they aren't used like they were decades again.
History..... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Drinking_fountains_in_the_United_States Some have been around for over 130 years.... Over 50 years for animals to use as well. That is historic items for the parks that most people don't even know the history for.... As it was involved in the Civil Rights Act of 1964....
All valid criteria, making them acceptable... As well as it being defined in AMA's that Fountains must have foot access. Which they do, with that only needing to be meet to be acceptable portal as Fountains are allowed per guide. Drinking water fountains meet AMA August 2019 guide for foot access and previous guide rule of Fountains being acceptable.
Water fountains aren't a tourist attraction. Most people know there are water fountains but don't care because they're germ infested and often covered in bird droppings.
The things you listed are covered in the guide under non-art criteria. Fountains fall under art. Drinking fountains are not art.
If the someone submits a display of segregated drinking fountains at a museum I would 4-5* depending on access. Otherwise your public drinking fountain has nothing to do with the Civil Rights movement and you can stop pulling things out of thin air to support your wrong ideas.
If the guide is ever updated to support you I would rate accordingly. As it stands, your drinking fountains do not meet criteria. Submit them all you want but they're almost certainly going to be denied.
Yes. I did. Criteria is required for some things. Uniqueness is only one. Just because things arent unique doesnt mean they are not portal worthy. I have met every criteria required to be accepted.
This was also mentioned in the AMA, hopefully your local OPR community is aware of it.
agentBiker28 - What do you think about a punishment system for bad submits?
A: It exists. People have and will continue to lose their ability to submit and review Portals and some have even been banned for submitting bad Portals.
High quality poi's have history, have uses for the community. Are in safe environments to be used. Promotes community gathering. And are cultural. They meet all categories for a good submission. Uniqueness is your hung up. Because you think everything needs to be pretty. Niantic has said everything doesnt have to be pretty to be approved with playgrounds. You lost man.
You said YOU have met all criteria to be accepted, but PERSON is not valid POI. Thus I gave you 1/5 stars and selected "Portal Crtiteria" and "Person" for a reason.
Comments
Those are eligible under different criteria specified in the guide. Fountains are eligible under art.

Give me a few minutes to walk into work. I got a response to this.

I guarantee any response you make will be wrong.

@Kliffington, don't engage with this troll anymore. They are deliberately misrepresenting what @RedSoloCup said in the AMAs.
Yes there is an expectation of being decorative in the water tower guide:
ACCEPT if accessible without entering a restricted area, is uniquely decorated, or are otherwise a notable monument.
Home sick today, couldn't help myself

Let's see this response now. Think I proved ya wrong sir....
You didnt
Water fountains aren't a tourist attraction. Most people know there are water fountains but don't care because they're germ infested and often covered in bird droppings.

You best response was "you didnt" couldn't even argue the history? Historic and culture was established for water fountains. That makes it valid.
1/5 Portal Critertia -> Person
This was also mentioned in the AMA, hopefully your local OPR community is aware of it.
agentBiker28 - What do you think about a punishment system for bad submits?
A: It exists. People have and will continue to lose their ability to submit and review Portals and some have even been banned for submitting bad Portals.
1/5 is meeting criteria to be a portal. Explain how the other 4 are not.
Wasnt for me. It was for your decorative water fountains that dont meet the AMA august responses. Keep submitting bad poi's.
Maybe you do not get it, because you dont get OPR.
Are your submissions getting approved? **** Merritt Park Drinking Fountain portal

I get OPR just fine. I'm waiting to see your 4/5 that doesn't meet. 1 of 5 still means it is a valid portal to be reviewed.
Are your submissions getting approved? **** Merritt Park Drinking Fountain portal
If you have half a dozen POI in one small park, it doesnt even promote exercise, it promotes sitting in one place with multiple POI's in range.
Much better if you have to actually move around.
It was an joke =)
You said YOU have met all criteria to be accepted, but PERSON is not valid POI. Thus I gave you 1/5 stars and selected "Portal Crtiteria" and "Person" for a reason.
