Field Test Cities for 2019-09-14
We've selected sites for the upcoming September 14th Field Tests. Start location, timing, and sign ups will come in the next few weeks; but the Field Test's activity specifications will not be identified until shortly before the event. We can confirm that this will involve individual rather than Faction activity, and that there will be a new unique event medal available for those agents who attend and complete the test. Find a Field Test site near you, at https://ingress.com/events

Thank you all for volunteering your cities. There were a great number of excellent applications: for all the other cities that applied but were not selected for this Field Test, thank you! We will keep your application on file for the next Field Test.
Yayyy finally an Iowa anomaly!
Thank you for choosing Izmir, Turkey! :)
Unfortunately Ipswich is 2 hours away so I might have to give this a miss, unless there’s a badger up for grabs... 😏
Ipswich is a town not a city :) oops.
Can we get info on who's handling the event locally as well? Would need a contact point for the event.
Congrats to the selected cities!
Y chile totalmente en el olvido 😭😭😭😭
Well done Ipswich
somewhere a little more central would have been nice.
But at least there’s one in the UK I suppose
Im saddened that a big continent like Zealandia does not have a single location that was elected🙄
Not even a single location in New Zealand?
Not a very smart choice in my opinion. They seem to only care about those with the big bucks to spend on travel these days the last two challenges are proof of that. 15 choices per region is sad and only limits the total number of agents that can participate. What I find the worst of it is the USA got 7 of 15 slots of which doesn't surprise me one bit as Niantic is a US company of course they will cater to their own.
I think they are deliberately avoiding central locations to keep them relatively small for the first one.
I think they are deliberately keeping them small scale for the first one.
Excelente noticia, es bueno ver a Perú en el mapa de los eventos oficiales de Niantic. Felicitaciones a los organizadores.
In my opinion, the celected cities could have been a little more central locations. If Niantic really wanted to avoid huge groups of people in the test events, they simply could not include a badge for them.
West Island of New Zealand got two sites 😆
Niantic: announces worldwide event
Agents: WAAAAHHH! You're punishing rural players!
Niantic: announces small scale experimental event
Agents: WAAAAAHHH! It should have been more central!
When will the POC's of events get contacted?
Having no badge would definitely reduce number of attendees and select those more motivated by the test itself.
Really surprised by the low number of cities selected, especially since the start location, play box, etc., were all provided and could have been scripted in.
I'm not surprised at the low number of locations for an experimental event.
Wow My City Got Choosen For The Field Trip, I'm from Makassar, hopefully the details about the Event can publish soon as possible.... And What the condition for the choosen City ?
Interesting to see that Malaysia got a site, but oh man it's gonna be a bit of a trek to get to that place...😅
A site near me, eh? Just 6 hours away... So much for taking part in one.
Waaaah they get a badge! Lol 😂
Experimental badger from the sound of it. I hope those small towns have a good amount of hotel rooms free and are ready for the onslaught of agents for this "mini-anomaly". Err "test".
Not forgetting its a long weekend and them small roads to get to Kuala Selangor will surely be packed. But hey better one than none.
