Auto recharging cheating
in General
Well if auto recharging is ok, seems like multiple complaints over the years, where can I get an app for that? Might as well fight fire with fire

Just because they don't/can't detect some sort of cheating, that doesn't mean it's ok to do so.
Uh, you can fast recharge up to 15k XM. When it's focused to one reso, use an ultra strike on top of the reso
Auto recharghing?
After more than three quarters of a million resonators destroyed, many of them on well-loved portals, I consider myself reasonably adept at portal combat. I have a lot of tricks up my sleeve. I've also recharged on a lot of attackers and I know how to do that fairly well too, either by myself or working with other people.
I am 99% certain that I have fought against recharge bots in more than one city. I've encountered unshielded portals that were nearly impossible to knock a resonator off of, even at 3 a.m., even when I snuck up on them, even after moving around to random neighborhoods, and even after going completely dark for 30-45 minutes. The pattern that I have seen most often is that when I start attacking in an area I don't get recharged on for a while, and then suddenly I'm facing self-healing portals. If I was in an area that a certain set of regular players had resos on then I would get recharged on aggressively even if I hadn't been in that particular area at all that day. Sure, maybe one guy woke up in the middle of the night and then paged all of his buddies to help recharge, but the massive instantaneous response to my attacks doesn't feel human to me.
I confirm that there is one portal that stands in a ripe open area (in a wheat field), even in the middle of the night, more than 500 resonators or 200 ultrastrikes are sent and it is not possible to destroy a single resonator. The portal is instantly recharged to maximum.
I've always heard about recharge bots but I've never encountered them. Viruses solve that problem pretty quick. The only portals that are impossible to destroy are ones that you can't physically get to. Some players have figured out how to destroy those too. For me I don't believe recharge bots exist. If they did I would have experienced them already.
No it doesn't. Even if I have two people who charge me basically anytime I go after a second of their portals.
@VenomousToad Flipping an enemy portal is useful when you want to clear links but it's not a good tool when you're trying to take down dozens or hundreds of enemy P8s.

Not necessarily... recharge bots would be considered cheating and might only be used by a few unethical people. I've smashed up big steaming piles of portals in lots of areas without facing what seemed like superhuman recharging, and I've only encountered superhuman recharging in a couple of areas. That pattern is consistent with the occasional bad apple.
It is NOT OK, report the accounts that may be auto recharging to Niantic via official channels.
@Vdragon How do you know what accounts are auto-recharging? They may not be any of the names that are on the portals.
The worst part of this post is people will now know it's a thing and will start doing this in more places. So by pointing this out it will become more popular. That's if it actually exists.
flip portal with a virus. initiate battle beacon. Bots don't get alerted to battle beacon. take portal.
We need such a system, which will help prove the presence of the player, it is very important. Because we have a lot of cheaters using bots. And bots for charging, and bots for collecting resources, and bots for capturing portals.
WE don't need it. We are not the Ingress police.
@KonnTower Flipping portals and battle beaconing them works when you have a single portal to deal with but it doesn't scale to smashing up a large area.
We need Niantic to do a better job of detecting this behavior. The problem is, agents seem to have these weird bizarre behaviors that can't be explained and some of that mirrors bot behavior. But also, everyone has some random story about their roommate from 8 years ago who still plays randomly once a year and that's why the account might look like a backpack, but for real, it's my roommate and they definitely still play, but they don't like going in public to link and mostly like recharging and hacking. Please...
There are a few suspected users in South Korea.
There is extra motivation to charge hard now that u get some ap numbers which can motivate some use some extra cubes.
A simple way to see that it's being recharged by the bot is to secretly remove all shields with the Ultra Strike without log and then attempt to attack the Resonator. Most will be immediately destroyed by 1~3 Ultra strike attacks, but recharged is immediately.
There're so many suspicious portals like this in Korea.
Attackers can't know who's recharging.
Auto recharging? 🤔
I'm really not updated about this 🤔
