“It is also possible to reinstate the Recruiter Medal”

in General
Thought this line from this thread - https://community.ingress.com/en/discussion/21946/kobe-anomaly-meetup-q-a-september-17-2023#latest was worth spinning off in to it’s own one.
How do you feel about Recruiter possibly coming back? Would you want it to work with a referral code like Monster Hunter Now? A QR code to scan or an email referral?
Some may see it causing issues with multi accounts, how do you think that should be addressed?
Of course it was placed on “pause” previously.
There’s been some discussion before on its return too.

When Recruiter was introduced, it was the first badge that I saw as pointless. Leave it retired.
We don't need to revive a recruiter badge so one agent can flaunt how many accounts or bots they have "recruited". This badge has been exploited in the past.
If they get Recruiter back, then Eve should do it as well.
Anyways, I never unlocked that medal and I doubt I would start doing it now.
Eve was like hard mode Recruiter because you had to talk to iPhone people.
Or just create multiple accounts, take picture of the same phone, on WIFI, with a different account at L3 on it, then post on G+ with whatever the hastag was at the time. That's what many who have the badge did back then.
Maybe so, but I went out of my comfort zone and found some actual weirdo iPhone people to recruit.
If they want Ingress to become the same "alt accounts are cool" status as Pogo, then go ahead reinstate the Recruiter medal.
Ill be honest, I’d be hard pressed to actually invite any of my friends to play Ingress in its current form…
Not to mention we've already invited most of our friends to play by now...
The old email invites didn't count for recruiter, which is where the majority of my friends signed up, played some, got bored or frustrated with Niantic and left.
backpack medal
Which ones? The email invites were for Recruiter. You got the credit once the invited account reached level 3
I'm talking the original invites. 2013/2014.
oh yeah, those ones
