  • Same problem, I comment so that if someone has a solution share it. Reinstalling previous versions is a temporary solution only.

No,even Pixel 6 pro is w/o scanning. Also Lightship AR seems to work with Niantic ARVoyage. Scan is disabled client-side due to non-functioning client on lot of weak devices from 2.123.1+. As crash issue is now fixed,i expect scan to be enabled in 2.125*+ builds.

Unfortunately 2.123.1 and below are old and now restricted server side.

  • @All Open up Supportticket and point to this Thread here. Maybe that helps that they solve the problem or give at least a statement. I did this some Days ago.

  • That's strange. Why does this function disappear in the newest app versions? On my tablet (samsung S6lite) can see the button, but not on my phone (Samsung A53).

  • Particularly frustrating part is that I can scan using Pokemon Go on the same device.

  • Same for me

    Device: Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra

    Android: 13

    Newest Ingress version

Fun fact: Portal Overscan AR works fine

Today i got overclock enabled on couch portal. The question is: why do we have overclock button if we haven't scan button? Or why overclock works but scan doesn't?

  • Same issue, scanning button missing,

    Device: Samsung Galaxy A52s

    Android: 13

    Ingress: 2.123 & 2.124

  • I'm not a master but, Is Ingress meeting Niantic requirements for Lightship?

  • Galaxy S23 Ultra also with no portal scan options. Can anyone with this device confirm if you were ever able to scan a portal? I wonder if Niantic needs to add each device individually since this is a fairly new phone.

  • Same problem:Scan button is no konger visible. Upgrade 2.142.2-eabcffb3

    Iphone 7

    IOS 15.7.8

So longer just an Android issue

  • Same stil no button

    Oneplus nord 2 5g

    Android 13

Well I can scan with Android 12 so that seems to be a counterexample to the above. (Also, Ingress supports Android 8+ so they may not be targeting API level 30 although I gather you can do that and still be backwards compatible.)

Same issue. OnePlus 11, android 13.

Actually, I think the problem emerged much earlier, because the mesh scanning is missing long ago.

So what is the solution, agents in my local chat are asking why they cant scan suddenly on new samsung phones?

  • Which phones still work? Huawei P30 Pro does.

  • Same problem. My device is on list of supported devices with the ar technologies but portal scan button doesn't appear. My phone is a readmi note 8 pro

  • Samsung S10e

Can go into scanning but can't press start - non active.

Reinstalled ingress, Google AR soft multiple times

  • Same issue, except iPhone SE should be supported….

  • My scan button disappeared about 2,5 weeks ago. My phone is Samsung A53 5G version.

  • Scanning has disappeared on my Samsung Galaxy S8 after most recent update.

  • Same problem

    Samsung Galaxy A52s 5G

    Android 13

  • On my old phone its working (Samsung Galaxy s21) but on my Samsung Galaxy s23 it did stop working after the update

  • Same issue, no "scan" button

My device is not newest but 2 years ago I was able to scan portals using this device. (Also this device is still listed as supported).
