Would you want to see a Daily Free Pack/Box added to the Ingress store?

in General
The main other games (Pikmin Bloom & Pokémon GO) now offer a daily free item/items in their store. The main goal being to make you look at the store every day and consider making a paid purchase.
Is this something you’d want on Ingress?

Nah, you can get gear from the daily hack.
Pokémon GO players can also get items from their daily spin, but still get the box.
Not disagreeing, just noting that there’s both in that game.
Pikmin maybe a little more difficult as you need to bloom something to get the nectar.
"You received:
1x L3 resonator
1x L1 XMP"
The contents of daily gift is always useless anyway... There isn't going to be anything worthwhile in them.
So don't bother
Why would they give away things instead of selling things? Right now gear can be bought. They shouldn't give this away. They should sell it all. It's like a gas station giving away gas instead of selling it. It makes no sense. Keep it in the store.
Ingress is not PoGo.
You will not receive CMUs for holding portals or control fields.
Naturally, there are no free items.
But that's why it is relatively free of the moral and compliance breakdowns that PoGo has.
Sorry, but PLEASE GO HOME.
It seems pointless to me because the items would generally have almost no value. I don't even look at the daily PoGo pack.
I don't really endorse the idea of spending programming resources on this. A lot of more important issues could be addressed. As far as the potential offerings, I agree that with so much being for sale it would likely be that anything for free would be trivial.
It's a good thing that other AR games offer lots of free stuff to keep things interesting. Some players don't really mind the ads at all :)
You seem to be outta touch. This still ain't Pogo.
We get Epoch. You want gear! Go hack some.
If you really want some gear, go feed @ace & @NianticBrian 's pockets and buy some gear.
Just no.
Your intention is good, but I believe it would be more beneficial to import the mission feature from Pokémon GO.
maybe end of week fitrep rewards is better idea? but that seems they ditched it lol too hard figure out i guess
That’s meant to be coming (kind of) in the form of Routes.
So you mean, they should actually complete this feature? Or maybe stop it from popping up 2-5 times on Monday's?
I get that it’s not, but still wanted to see the community opinion of whether they wanted this. I expected a no, but still wanted to ask it.
kcaps are pretty much that
I want to be able to cool the portal just by looking at an advertisement. Oh! Ay! Don't throw your slippers at me!)))
Excuse me! I am still recovering from a sickness and can't walk outside and hack without endangering the public. This game is getting boring, wherein I have to wait 60 minutes to hack and do something. No wonder the other AR game I am playing is very challenging and engaging because I get free stuff and do something without waiting 60 minutes.
Being bored with the game while confined at home isn't terribly surprising. The game is after all one intended to be played outside with movement from portal to portal.
So you can't go out and play a GPS location game? Then don't. Need gear? We have drones. That covers the basics including sojourner. Need something other than that? Codes from cards, codes released in the wild, or you can buy gear from the store.
Other than recharging and drone hacking, what do you expect to be doing from home, that would require the need for gear?
It's usually complaining
still no award end of week based on how much u walked as it is now its just an annoying popup nothing else.
ok but your reward is an item after 8 km
Fitrep has it's own issues
The usual response from Niantic concerning this very antiquated game has turned into a memorabilia store. Ingress had a good run, but like a fading comet, it does not have the fun factor compared to other AR games consistently updated by its developers, wherein they encourage PvP, exploration, and real teamwork to accomplish missions.
These bundles are just to give people a reason to visit the store. There is a trace difference to gameplay in getting free common items, it’s a win win really.
Chances are the Ingress equivalent would be
4x L3 resonators
2x Force Amps
Etc.
To add here, Monster Hunter Now has also done the Daily Free Item that the other Niantic games (save for Ingress) do in order to make you check the store each day.
Omg I do half my ingress at home ... there's key sorting/culling, participating chat groups and forums about ingress Intel watching, field planning, recharging. If you can't get out you can gaze at the map and plan!
Ingress is never boring to me. It's like a pack of cards ... simple ingredients.. endless ways to play
And so many other games also have a freebie each day. And?
Let's try this again.
You seem to be outta touch. This still ain't Pogo.
We get Epoch. You want gear! Go hack some. You can easily pickup VR gear from ANY level portal. Get off the dang couch already!
If you really want some gear, go feed @ace & @NianticBrian 's pockets and buy some gear.
I did think you may make this same comment. Fine to have a differing view. Just wanted to share what other Niantic games (which includes ones that aren’t Pokémon GO) are doing to try and make money.
As for being off the couch, I’ve done a walk today and been running all the games on that walk. Always a nice bit of the day.
Hope you enjoy your day too. 😊
