  I doubt that the screen showing the Niantic logo when you tilt the phone down is significantly going to help.

  @jontebula - As has been mentioned many times over the last 5-10 years to you, buy a battery. Ingress is always going to be a power hog because it's burning your GPS constantly, just like PoGo, Pikmin, or a sports tracker actively tracking your route.

  Most modern day phones have a power saving mode device-wide. I'm guessing this is what @mortuus was meaning. Apple literally calls it "power saving mode" and Android is just "power saving"

  
  

  The only concern would be that power saving mode can sometimes suppress functions like activity/health tracking for steps, etc.

  
  

  @jontebula You could also try creating a Mode or Routine to suppress notifications, closd apps and services, etc that you don't need running while playing ingress. Also, try closing all apps from the App Switch tray as keeping them open there stores them in RAM. I know you can do both these things on your S23.

  
  

  Third, I would also recommend looking at your case. If you have a thick, full-wraparound or even Waterproof case that is going to significantly decrease air flow and increase heat.

  Byt test my old Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra with Exynos with same settings and Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra with Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 take lots more battery 17% when S21 Ultra with Exynos take under 10%

  And talk with Samsung tech people and they say apps are not optimize for Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy then GPS apps take 17%

  100% Ingress Prime are not optimize for Snapdragon 8 gen 2 for Galaxy. Hope @NianticBrian relese optimize update soon for Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy.

  They dont do nothing in code for optimize for Galaxy S23 Ultra with Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy it is way Ingress Prime now get extreme hot phone and take lots of battery even with extreme low light on screen.

  Sounds like bad phone thermal settings if that chip overheats it thats not niantics fault. this game dont need 1000$ phones really its the downside to buy the latest phone its fast but comes at a price with bad battery life
