Machina is back, and hopefully, fixed
I found only 1 red portal today in the areas where they were before near me. Last time I found one, it went neutral the next day. And this one is like they were in the past, barely charged.
Would be more fun if they made a global event with red

Well I'm happy to report that my one red portal has lived into its second day this time. I'm really looking forward to seeing what rule set Machina follows this time. Previously it was overwhelming in some places and near absent in others. And while I'm perfectly aware that it's an unpopular position to take, I hope that some form of crossing links is enabled. Not necessarily a link over an existing link, but the ability to in some way bypass the obstruction. We don't need a red portal farming side game, we need something that interferes and makes us take action.
Well that didn't last long, my sole red portal went neutral on day three. Machina is back, but in leprechaun mode, catch them if you can. Or perhaps it's for Easter and this year we have a red egg hunt.
Forces action. That's what is needed. Crossing links FORCES people to play.
When Machina cross links, it disincentives people going out to taken them down to build their own fields.
Personally, I quite enjoyed having Machina around, I don't mind it cross linking over itself, however it still needed to not cross other factions links. If it follows this, it will make it much more enjoyable
If people want to build fields, they are forced to go out and destroy Machina. That's an incentive. Destroy Machina lets you get to build fields. How do you think Machina can provide a challenge to the other teams without crossing their links? I am interested in your opinion.
It's hugely unpopular to say so but I liked the link crossing ability. It meant that Machina could not be boxed in. And it could not be ignored. My only real complaint is that it seemed to be overwhelming in some places and near nonexistent in others. I felt left out because I had to travel so far to even encounter a red portal.
if u need invest hours to clear red derp links then it will get agents burned out and stop play and many did when machina was at 5mil worldwide
Hmm, but I am assuming that operations can take a long time to plan, months even. So if somebody has the patience and dedication to plan such complicated and lengthy operations, why would blowing up some very weak portals bother them? It is extremely easy so blow up Machina portals. And Like I said. clearly people have to be patient and determined to plan big ops, so they have the patience and dedication to plan a big op but they dont have the patience and dedication to blow up some very weak portals? That doesn't make sense to me.

Yeah, that didn't seem to stop us back when all those red links were just enemy links.
Machina is an enemy that can't be driven off by toxic player behavior and harassment, so those same players are jumping on the forums to **** Niantic.
Let them complain. It's usually the same people complaining any new features.
It's called in some places Machina was taken seriously. Others there was no one to clear the weeds.
My box had pockets of both. You knew where Machina was by how many agents were around ( few to none) and some where the lengths agents went to make absolutely sure no Machina portals happened.
