When will Niantic stop doing those global challenge only based on faction number
everyone knew the result the day it was announced as global challenge.
Will NIA adress this ratio problem one day ? that's just ridiculous to name it challenge when there are no challenge at all and just based on which faction has the more agents and too easy tasks.

Faction with 7% more players wins event based on number of players playing, wow who could have thought.
Just assume that they run these kinds whenever they want to force the plot in a certain direction..
This is almost as embarrassing as the pokemon go faction events where the split of the factions is like 50:30:20. Blue being the most like colour, with biased selection screen layout, in both games? Wow! Consistency there Niantic
What can they realistically do, for events like this?
They can’t force people to change factions and unfortunately new players are sparse.
I wonder if Niantic already just knows that, everytime they need the Resistance to win something for the plot, the way to do it is to make a global challenge with stupidest possible "could total across all agents" rules?
they can mitigate by agents numbers.
everyone knew the results before it starts, quiet sad
Can we trust this numbers??? Many players in my faction believe that Niantic is rigging some results in favor of the resistance winning. Can we see a specific selection in the form of lists with the names of the participating agents of both factions?
Good luck with that. Also no because privacy.
I mean if less enl players did this challenge, is it res players fault 🤨
This is so sad, Niantic do something. 🤡 🤡 🤡
Do you have any source of the this 7%, and if so what they count as active accounts.
remember when Niantic would release stats with encryption for verification?
Is this count considering the players who completed the 6 operations and did not win the medal? I completed the 6 operations and so far I haven't received the medal.
Global anomalies, Enl won almost all in last 5 years.
Europe= Res win
North America=Enl win
Asia=Enl win.
Given the tiny score delta, maybe Enl just need to enthuse more agents to do the task? There was a lot of Res advertising for it.
Global events are certainly fairer than sticking anomaly primary in say Japan(Enl) or Germany(Res).
How else would you do it? Any stat measure, the team with the highest player numbers competing are going to win.
Enlightened have been the underdogs globaly for as long as I can remember. Not really that shocking. Kinda fun being on the underdog team.
Why playing the underdog role? Go organize your faction first, then go complaining.
Who said I was complaining? I've been outnumbered since day 1. It's great for AP.
you might be outnumbered by the very resistance, but it still depends on the location.. i like the idea of a global (strategy) challange. Fielding, portal captures, and just events that depend on how many players you can get online to get a badge, like this one.
In the past we had shards, a Global MU challange, connected cells <-- this depends more on organizing if your faction is the underdog. Like Resistance in the NR02-hotel-02 cell, we organized ourselves and basicly captured the full 10 points.
I'm am waiting for a real global challange, i like them because they need thinking, organizing and promotion the get everybody involved. Shards? DarkXM link? another MU related challange? Ingress is like an union, it has many layers..
No but the one thing that should be in just number of agents that completed the tasks. 51-49 doesn't mean very much. 51,000-49,000 is more meaningful for the health of Ingress.
You can complain about the number of 'active' players you found on some website that breaks TOS by scraping comm or you can do something about the completion rate. Locally for example 3 of the top 5 ENL earned the MZFPK badge, and 5 of the RES agents.
For those who know where to look it's out there. Also every global agent based event has ended ~53.5:46.5 since the dawn of Ingress.
The fact it was this close this time lines up with when they fudge the numbers in Pokemon Go events where there was motive to push something
Considering that there are more Enlightened players than Resistance globally.
By all logic the Enlightened should have won, easy.
FYI, I'm on the Resistance.
But also, @NianticThia do we know how much the the final score was skewed because of the many players who had their Machina Agent Ops bug out?
No fault of Res themselves, it's squarely on Nia to not pick purely numbers based challenges
They don't want to show the actual active population haha
It really could be that there was 10,000 active players this past weekend.
It would be interesting to compare numbers over the years. But an easy global anomaly like this didn't even motivate the locals to play. Many just didn't care.
A 7% player difference should mean a 7% score difference.
Agree, most didn't care. (Speaking locally).
Most in my area didn't even know there was an event.
It wasn't well marketed
Correct, and much like the Fed, the chefs are workin' the numbers
