Time for new Stats-Badges?

How about a few new badges for stats that dont have a badge yet?
Like the new machina stats and a few other combat stats.
Also as many are stuck with their drone distance an alltime travelled distance stat/badge would be nice

yup a new badge would get people going but guess it wont happen
drone don't really need more medal.
but an enemy mu destroyed medal would be nice.
Not everything needs a badge for ingress stats.
IMO, those can be event badges rather then permanent stats medals. (Eg. Optima Kinetic challenge)
And exactly that's what i personally don't want. At least I prefer a badge in classic design for the alltime stats. And sometimes the event badges.
weird have stats if no badge, whats teh point then?
You want a badge for MU days? That's been there since the start. There can always be stats collecting without it being displayed as well. All of the values from previous events you participated in are tied to your account but they are not displayed.
Would be nice for some of us that have made basically every game play based badge onyx (or has wings on them). It's not like they haven't added soo many other silly badges like Second Sunday or whatnot.
Heck, make a new badge for a current game play action and start it at zero when the badge comes out. Give us something to work towards other than yet another recursion that pays out zero benefits.
XM Forge,
Unique Drone Visits,
Machina Destruction,
Battle Beacon
MU removed.
A tracking of the amount of MU fields of the other faction that you have removed.
Since 10 years have already passed, is it too late? I would like to have a medal to count the countries and regions I have visited.
I remember that this count existed in Harry Potter, but I think it would be appropriate for Ingress.
Of course, it might be better to break it down by continent rather than country/region, as Japan, USA, Australia, etc. might be at a disadvantage and Europe might be more advantageous.
I would break it down by scoring cell. Call it wanderer or traveller. It would make spoofers obvious. I even worked out the tiers: 3, 9, 25, 49, 81.
I want these, all of which have stats but one:
Drones returned would be fun but I think it would have similar issues to guardian hunting.
That medal didn't actually work in HPWU, and Niantic disabled it shortly after launch.
I would roll portals neutralized, links destroyed, and fields destroyed all into one badge.
@grendelwulf Why? We have separate badges for portals captured, links created, and fields created. What is the argument for short-changing the destruction side of the game?
Streamlining it
@grendelwulf I'm not following your logic... can you elaborate? How would you roll multiple stats into one badge in a way that works, and what is the advantage of streamlining badges?
One all purpose destruction badge so you can set the tiers higher.
Maybe since resos are easy to destroy but you're also traveling to these places as well to knock down links.
I honestly wouldn't be against Machina version badges of the originals. The cyan part changed to red. A "destabilizer" for links destroyed.
Would these be for retroactive stats or for new only?
If retroactive, many agents would be insta Onyx Wings and kinda defeats the purpose of new badges (to keep you out playing).
BUT, if it was made to be new stats only, do your previous stats get wiped from your profile? I'd be sad to see my previous stats wiped out. But if those stats were retroactive, then it wouldn't really make me want to play any more than I currently do as I would be easily Onyx for everything except drone hunting.
And for Drone Hunting, as far as I'm currently aware, there is no real way to "hunt them like guardian" because there is no way to see them other than the Drone layer. Most of the Drones I've sent home, were on grey portals that I captured.
The drone hunting really doesn't even matter because you can do the actions to your drone and it counts up the stat.
All that destruction is just different effects of pushing the same button. You're not actually doing different things.
You and I have had this argument before haven't we?
@XK150 When I capture a portal I'm deploying a resonator and capturing a portal but those are separate badges. When I create a field I'm both linking and fielding and capturing MU and those are different badges from one button push. Why is destruction different?
@EvilSuperHeros New badges wouldn't be incentives for old **** players with every stat at a kajillion but they would still be incentives for other players. Not every badge has to be an incentive for everyone.
Continues to puzzle me how much Brian has talked about how much he wants this game to succeed and just straight ghosts us for 3 months in 2023, lol.
No medals, no events, no effort.
Spoofers reported ;)
Would I want additional badges to clutter my screen? Absolutely, NO!
like they could do a worldwide red event during q1 but nope
Unique Drone Visits
Every other "unique" stat has a badge. Additionally, show our uniques in the drone layer.
Don't know how many times this has been requested
It's impossible to capture a portal without deploying a resonator, sure. As a compromise I'm happy to have "portals neutralized" as a badge. (I'm sure I've said this before - hopefully this doesn't contradict what I might have said last time...)
But since you can deploy dozens of resonators without capturing a portal it makes sense to have resonators deployed as a badge.
There are people out there who make dozens of links without ever making a field, so yeah it's fine to have both links and fields created as badges. Making fields takes planning, and making lots of fields takes lots of planning.
That's not the same as just mashing the XMP button and getting four badges for it. It's impossible to destroy a field without also destroying all links on the portal and also without destroying at least one resonator. The destructive stats are all much more linked-together than the building stats are. (And the number of fields and links destroyed depends on the opposing-faction agent who built them in the first place. Destroying is much less under your control than building is.)
