Really hoping that the portals return though. It's already bad enough that a different Niantic system removed them when they were suppose to be somewhere they couldn't be touched.
I'd like to know where they put the portals then because I've been looking everywhere on intel map where I know the graveyard is and have not found my teams 2017 or 2018 portal... they have not been returned to the spot where the other portals that didn't get removed are
@NianticBrian@NianticThia@NianticAaron We're still waiting for updates on this. Are the portals actually live again? Will keys be getting restored to affected agents? Can I finally open my scanner and do banners on my vacation as I'd been planning?
I was fortunate enough to be a member of Luminescent Heart in year one, and Liminal Continuum in year two at Camp Navarro. I of course kept souvenir keys, and also distributed many to global teammates and friends of any faction who were happy to be included somehow.
That wider inclusion was important to our team each year, so while I'm sad for those of us lucky enough to go, I'm heartbroken for our remote participants whose only direct pieces were the keys. We'll always have our missions, but the keys were their true, direct link :(.
I say all this with the hope that something will be done to correct this genuinely tragic error. Not only to have the portals restored, but those pieces of them - the keys - as well.
This was escalated and looked into immediately upon my being contacted; the Portals were reinstated the same day and it wasn't until yesterday that I was informed they still weren't back online. We're looking into it and are working to get them back online ASAP. Once they are, we will address missing keys.
I genuinely think there should be a temporary stop on the Wayfarer program until Niantic employees involved can be adequately trained on criteria and on special cases like the Camp Navarro portals. There are actually cases where Niantic employees have approved ineligible portals such as a Subway restaurant and instances where eligibility criteria are changed without efficiently communicating it to reviewers.

All of my keys have now left the locker they were safely tucked into. :(
We were told a lot of things and haven't seen any of it pan out in the last five years.
so all keys are gone now?
Okay, yup. Definitely not opening my scanner until the portals are back.
Stellar job, Niantic. Just stellar.

and no one touched them. only one idiot, spoofer, and multi did what he does best....
Are peoples keys back
Don't blame Ethan. That was me. I thought I was "helping". The restoration wasn't perfect, but was close.
None of my keys returned so i cant even check to see if the portals have returned

If you know the correct title of the portal, it is possible to use the mission authoring tool to find the location.
Similarly, the XM-Profiler created by Itoen, which moved to Antarctica, will show up when you search.
Anyone get keys back?
New Andrew lore!
I didn't mean blame on anymore specific, I can imagine the system is robust.
A Niantic member who accepts blame and communicates with the community? No wonder they didn’t keep you around. 😆
Lol, so many junk portals now. The staples near me was added couple weeks ago. I laughed
I know right... "Mystic XM arise from ye McDonalds Play Equipment"

Y'all must not know how Niantic operates. Soon.
Any updates? It's been a week now since we were told this was going to be fixed
I too would like to see a detailed report on the progress on this matter.
This will help to alleviate the concerns of the Ingress agents who were directly affected.
My guess is the waypoints were restored in Lightship, but due to the distance rules in Ingress have not come live again
Surely one of them would off gone live....

If only we could use this as avatars here!!
I'm still very mad 😭😭 and apparently nothings has been done in all this time. I'm just starting to lose faith on their restoration.
Still no keys restored?
Poll:
Do you agree with this statement?
"niantic cares about me as an ingress agent"
Hi everyone -
This was escalated and looked into immediately upon my being contacted; the Portals were reinstated the same day and it wasn't until yesterday that I was informed they still weren't back online. There needs to be a love button. Thank you so much Thia for checking in on this again, I appreciate you've responded to this seriously.
