What is the max reward for creating 1 field
Hello all.
I am trying to understand what kind of rewards do I get for creating one field.
Forget about XM & Items.
What else do I get other then AP for creating one field?

1 field is 1250AP (+3x 313 for each link required for the field)
Besides that, it counts towards your medals, your factions global and regional scores and towards your rank in the regional scores.
I dont care about medals.
What is the reward the higher I get in the regional scores?
Your name higher on the list...
Not caring about medals is going to hurt you in the long run
So the reward for creating fields, gets my name higher on the list.
Explain with the medals how it can hurt in the long run.
Your reward is a nice warm feeling of accomplishment. And in case you are wondering, a 1 mu field pays the same as any larger field.
Levels 9 and up require medals
If I dont have all of the medals, will I still receive AP?
Yes, AP will still be accumulated
Lets say I collect so much AP so IF I had all the medals, I would be level 12. Will it work that way or will it start from level 9?
You would be L12.
& I only need the medal once, not 5 times or?
You will need to reach certain tiers on several medals.
For certain levels, you will need several gold/platinum/onyx medals.
Got it. Thank you so much for the information.
More information about the medals can be found at: https://fevgames.net/ingress/ingress-guide/concepts/medal/
And info about the level requirements and how badges impact it: https://fevgames.net/ingress/ingress-guide/concepts/level/
((Note, medal requirements are Silver, Gold, Platinum, and Onyx in differing amounts per level. Bronze-level, most event badges, character badges, Anomaly badges will NOT generally count towards level requirements))
You also rack up stats for MU captured, which contributes to your Illuminator badge. I know you said you don't care about badges but over time your thinking on that will probably evolve. The maximum MU that can be captured for a single field is unknown at this point, but is north of a billion... that's REALLY hard to do, though, and requires a large team of people.
MU = Mind Unit
I know little about Mind Unit.
Correct me if I am wrong about Illuminator / Mind Unit.
Exactly that badge is something I care about. This Illuminator badge is linked with Mind Unit points which is linked to global point system which is getting updated every 5 hours. So I contribute to my team with points by creating fields & I want to be loyal to my team, absolutely. (Competition)
Badge that says capture 40000 portals, doesnt give me nor my team anything. (Single player style)
Mind Unit sounds very interesting, but it has to wait a little bit more.
My next step is to learn to attack.
However
My issue with this game is the calculation/the abusive the game offers & the very bad reward system for creating fields.
It doesnt make sense, nor can I understand that logic OR it was meant to be that way.
People here has been very kindly and answered a lot of my questions + more. Someday I might accept as it is. :)
@IPHacker The reward system for creating fields is basically the amount of MU you capture. You're right that MU = Mind Units, and it's vaguely a proxy for the size of the population that you cover. (It's WILDLY inaccurate at that for a variety of complex reasons, and I'm the number one embodiment of the ludicrousness of that inaccuracy, but if you think of it as a proxy for population covered that's a good enough understanding.)
You didn't ask for my advice on this, exactly, but I'm going to offer it anyway: Step back from thinking about rewards and the way you think things should be and just learn the game as it is right now. There are many, many ways that Ingress can be improved but I've been playing this game for nearly a decade now and it's the only one of Niantic's games that would make me very sad if it went away. With Harry Potter and Pikmin I eventually got bored at the pointlessness of them and quit playing, and while I still play PoGo it has the same repetitive checklist mechanism as the ones that I got bored with. Ingress is more of a blank canvas than the others, and the only one that's actually competitive in any real way. It's the only one that has the ability to be truly creative in how you play it and the only one with strong collaboration within a faction and significant conflict between factions. Ingress is the only game that's gotten me to learn about all of the lighthouses on the California coast (and visit many of them), the only one that's motivated me to fly to Hawaii, and the only one that has filled my life with wonderful friends.
I've spent countless hours staring at maps designing and planning large fields, the largest of which was 15 layers of more than nine million MU per layer... and I threw some of the layers from a ghost town in the middle of a desert, using a satellite phone because there was no cell service. I helped with intel for a field that covered a giant chunk of the United States. I've pulled all-nighters solo-fielding my local area, or smashing up giant swaths of enemy portals. I've also thrown a field that covered a major US city, solo. (Image below.) Ingress is an absolutely fascinating game but it's different from PoGo and other Niantic games in some significant ways. Let go of your expectations and just explore what it is and you may well find what makes it unique and wonderful for you.
I understand your situation & the love of this game. I really like this game my self, absolutely.
I am complaining about the reward system because it allows own team members to abuse the system & I found another one.
I dont need any extra applications to abuse it.
So this is either meant to be this way or calculated wrongly or someone conviced someone inside Ingress Prime team to change it.
I will make a new discussion sooner or later, I double checked the calculation yesterday and today. It just doesnt make sense. It isnt about enemy offers the +100 AP.
@IPHacker I'm confused. How does the "reward system because it allows own team members to abuse the system"?
100 ap is kinda nothing, excepting U're trying to make cool AP(xp) numbers.
Depending on strategic situation outside best ways to gain AP(xp) are USUALLY linking lot little fields(1563 each) or smashing (it's always easier to ruin than to build).
