Pokemon Go posts in Ingress Official - Campfire

There have been quite a few Pokemon Go players posting for raids and exchanging friend codes in the Ingress Official community in Campfire. Although this might be a way to introduce Ingress to these players, it is causing a lot of friction between users. Are there any plans to separate the open game communities in Campfire?

This seems to highlight an unwanted spam feature in Campfire.

The communities are separated. However, the Ingress group seems to be the “default” and everyone joins it automatically.

So Pokémon GO players don’t look and post things there and then get told they should. If you report them as spam in the chat, they get removed.

We report them as spam, but they still remain

  • The official groups list on campfire has ingress first, then NBA, pokemon, and so on. Maybe the solution is to move the pokemon group to the top, let trainers click the right group without overthinking.

Even better, show the beta Trading Post group first, and pokemon second.

  • Five months later - this is still a BIG problem in Campfire. I would estimate that the #ingress-chat and #introduce-yourself channels see 5 to 6 ocurrances of Pokemon Go spam per day. The Ingress users spend more time trying to tell them that they are in the wrong group than actually talking about Ingress. NIANTIC: Is there anything that you can do to prevent this???

I'd guess no. We did our part. We tested it for them, so they could use it for their other games. Now we are left in the dark as usual.

Ingress is the test environment for the rest of Niantic games.

If you watch the Campfire groups. It doesn't what order they're in, they're ALL being spammed

The best thing to do is for Niantic staff to issue a warning that they will suspend the game accounts of players who spam.

Because PoGo players are too smart to understand that they are inconveniencing others.

It's easy to understand when you look at the shameless and cult-like hashtags that we see every day replying to every tweet on Niantic's Twitter account.

They are very different from all other game players.

lol, never said they are not sorted by distance. The suggestion was to change whatever sorting was and show Pokemon group first. Besides, you're answering 5 months old comment, who cares now, campfire is useless for ingress.
