More: advertising to non-players. I know that the team is working on reworking agent training, so they may be waiting until they are happy with the onboarding experience.
Less: inconsistency. The team has gotten better over time, but there really doesn't seem to be anyone saying "yeah, that makes sense in the story and world we're trying to build."
I as a newer player welcomed the under field linking, because it allows you to play bigger areal domination style while still be able to continue playing medals/stats/leveling with your smaller area local portals if wanted.
Good luck with improving the onboarding experience for newbies out there. Unfortunately, Niantic needs to work on its customer service and customer recovery skills...

They would say things that are said to deliverately hurt others, unless it's political incorrect. It's seen as something like...alpha male?
Some forums which is served for users on global scale will make some adjustment but what you feel is generally true for the states.

I'd like to see Niantic take action against notorious multi-account players - instead of their usual do-nothing-strategy.
