Links and fields drop with minor portal edits

Multiple portals have just had name edits put through, and possibly very slight location edits but if so they are negligible distances. All links from these portals have been removed apparently as a consequence of the edits.
I consider it a bug if very minor edits result in the removal of multiple fields.

Is the normal and correct behaviour, even the minor edit, links and fields are destroyed to avoid consecuences.
Leave the portals where are now and have fun playing ingress. 👍
Not all the moves are improved positioning, and given how many of my fields have dropped due to edits in the last couple of days, it looks like pretty uncool deliberate use of the edit function to target portals holding up fields.
