  • Well Your lucky @ofer2 as i havent been checking the forum at all recently and it was getting to the point i'd given up all hope of hearing from anyone and was going to remove all niantic products from my device.

    I have been updating perodically but there wasnt really much to report so thats why i stopped adding logs to this thread.

    All the new events and real world changes i see while im out walking just infuriates me that i cant submit new portals or edit or even be apart of wayfarer,i blink sometimes and think im still in that world that i entered in 2019.

    That saying i would have liked a test/beta version of the ingress version that caused my fault with just the fixes that you had got working applied to it & not all the other new stuff as back then drones didnt exist for my version as it would probably make more sense from a developer/engineers point of view to see whats going on.

    I still think it was the low signal deployment on a portal in a blackspot that crashed out the map and theres more of these dotted around now then every before.

    Im currently on version:- 2101.3

    If there was just a way to see the portals on the black screen that would be a huge step forward or even the HUD/MENU overlay.

    I'll log the above version and update when i can.

    While i understand things are busy with numerous projects you have going the people here in the ingress community that are still here are your companies backbone and shouldnt be alienated or they'll walk away (pardon the pun).

    @ofer2 I've just updated to 2.102.2 as it appeared in my list of updates tonight however its no different at this point although i know its not your latest potential fix update i was looking through the logs from this version and theres new entrys that have appeared including a guid key error at the beginning of the log which is new.

    A few versions back i noticed the FMOD Sound issue in the log had disappeared completely however in recent versions the error is back being reported so im adding this log for you incase its even more helpful.

    Ok, I've added in another 3 things which should help recover in error cases like you've posted above...lets hope they help. Also, those wont be in the next client, but the one after.

    @ofer2 i thought that log was worth posting seeing the new entries appearing which wasnt there before.

    I appreciate any and all tweaks that your trying its odd that pogo,pikmin,and even hpwu (while active) all ran okay on this device pikmin has its issues but nothing like ingress has been suffering.

    Btw im monitoring this minor issue but every couple of attempts of opening ingress since the 1xx version elevation im getting an "Could not load Ingress Account data"s Message at start up then i close the app and reopen it and it find the data fine and loads the game see image below

    I did also see the app briefly reduce in size but now with the latest version its gone up 25mb in the app info screen.

    Anyways im up now as far as Ingress 2.104.1 and while i cant see anything has changed at all i still have the BSOD on app load but i did briefly see a flash of a niantic lightship logo screen on 1 load which i never see normally however i may have got lost between version numbers & your potential fixes,however i do have the log files recorded if you need them just let me know.

    Yeah, the error happens. It should go away if you click the button. Once 2.105 comes out please let me know about that one. There are also some fixes I added in 2.106 and also one in 2.107 (hopefully it makes that branch). Haha. Please let me know then! Thanks for bearing with us!

    Why couldn't you just put all the fixes in 2.105.x and not grow a new Huge Oak Tree with loads of new branches it'll be 2024/2025 by this point lol 🤣😂😜😉

    I've just seen a note about 2.105.1 on a TG popup so maybe midweek coming or end of the week 5th december onwards it should eventually hit my app store for Android 10.

    Out of curiosity which Device chipset do you get best results with QC-SD OR MT ??

    Oh & take a look in the general catergory as you maybe losing another Vanguard if the company isnt careful 😢

    @ofer2 While it seems i have had an early surprise & the 2.105.3 app appeared in my updates this morning (4th December 2022) sadly i have to report a full crash shortly after startup and thats it...it goes from black screen to niantic logo to black screen then the niantic startup screen with app version numbers in full light then the screen dims like its trying to do something or pull up the accounts login screen but it fails and just dims the screen grey and it just stops there,

    Thats it...The app gives up (for now) i tried on both Wifi & 4G,clearing the cache & restarting the phone but nada its just frozen.

    Looking in the "Report a Bug" section before i wrote this theres a few different new black screen exit errors & notification blips on campfire thats going wrong too but no mention of what im experiencing so i'll post a seperate post for this.

    As i cant go past this screen all i get on logging at this point is attached below i have to force exit the app to close however.

  • @ofer2 i Just updated to the 2.106.1 release and the same crash from 2.105.1 is still present as above in this release and unfixed so because im not being able to move any further forward at this point any of your potential fixes that maybe present are going untested ☹️😢😔

    The only difference was the "can not load ingress account data error" on open of app and it signed me out of my google account but signing back in just recreated the 2.105.1 error...no new log info at this point either.

  • @ofer2 i havent been able to update to any recent versions past the version above or open the game past the title screen freeze the Ingress App seems to want Nearly 2.5gb just to download the small update file which hasnt previously been an issue,this also seems to be happening on Pikmin Bloom & Pokemon Go Also.

    It seems to me that theres now a compression/extraction issue with the APK app store files.

    I'll keep this thread updated if i manage to update the app somehow 🤔

  • @mortuus i know after all this time and the effort @ofer2 was putting in and working with me (putting up with me more like lol) to creating potential fixes that did show partial results i was hoping that he wasnt going to be affected

    I do check in periodically these days but i'm sad if he has gone that no one else will take up this issue.

    C'mon @NianticBrian show us you care and are worth these increased C.O.R.E costs im reading about.

    I still want to get back out there.
