Giving people free 4000 item backpacks is preferable?
We're never going to have a decent game if people aren't willing to actually fund it. CORE is failing because Niantic keeps messing with it, and people use it as the "Aha! I can punish you for an unrelated thing by canceling CORE!". Making it more viable would be a far more preferable situation to continuing to add more valuable items for direct sale, like ADAs and Jarvis.

Or maybe, those people think of CORE as funding the game and withdraw their funding when the game is not evolving to their liking. From the original announcement:
As C.O.R.E. subscribers, Agents will be taking an active role in helping support Ingress.
Core, just keeps the lights on, it does not pay for much else other than minor updates. Which is Ingress hasn't kept up with expectations.
The fact we get some new features is a miracle, and we players should be paying the devs who have worked hard in spite of the low funding. Kinetic Capsules as an example.
It is too easy to take take take. Time to give more than core, to have them employ more people to keep ingress updated with new features.
Core is $4
I spend $9 more each month, because I recognise their hard work. I'd like to give more, and have bought a lot more than I am willing to say over this past year.
I don't know how CORE became the only way to fund Niantic for Ingress development in this argument (which I know you're smarter than this so I don't know why you even are presenting this argument).
The people posting they are unsubscribing is just noise. Can you verify all of them have CORE? It's almost the same angle as XMA or Vanguards posting about their retirement. I didn't care about it before and I won't after the fact. It's just something that people think adds clout when the reality is that the metrics will be the only thing people look at. That's where the devil in the details are.
I don't want to make backpacks better. If it weren't damaging to general players, I'd reduce the base inventory, but 2000 is a good balance. If you want more, because you're playing harder, you should be able to pay for it. People making backpacks are the same people who wouldn't pay for it, because they're happier to cheat.

howdid u come up to that number?
Yes
It help items you have and easy
no i mean how would that make game better
It helps getting more items and keys and more link and fields and xmp
Currently the inventory limit is 2,000
Getting 6 key lockers you still have 2,000 in you main inventory, plus 600 for keys
Core adds 500 to your main inventory.
As much as I'd like more space too, this is quite a lot already.
3,100 items
I'd prefer to keep the base system at 2000, and increase it to 4000, by paying for "Tier 4 CORE Subscription" (4x the CORE cost).
Increasing the base helps backpack accounts far more than players.
The last thing we need in this game is a tiered subscription that mimics VIP tiers in other games.

@Perringaiden : CORE is failing because Niantic keeps messing with it
Also @Perringaiden : Let's add more CORE options
I can't see that going wrong

Well, adding good features is good 😁

I think you missed the point of that comment.
