Thanks for your honest feedback. We’re tuning things with the intro of the Rare Kinetic Capsule, and I want to do more fine tuning or experiments across the game over time. Trying to test changes with small sets of players is difficult to evaluate its global impact, and in general, testing monetized features is even harder. Rotating through different Loadout Kits more regularly might be more useful to a broader set of the player base than 1 static Loadout Kit, but we’ll see how it goes and continue tuning. If there’s a specific list of gear you’d like to see instead, that’s also useful feedback. Thanks.

Honestly, I'd drop the pack entirely if I was able to pay for more inventory space. +2000 slots for $20 a month would be fine with or without the loadout packs.
The big issue seems to be the "perceived price change" in a Boost being replaced by a Hackable item, but KC's should never have been hackable in the first place.
I have to imagine the vanilla forums have an option for a poll. It wouldn’t be scientific, but I think it would be close enough for “testing” purposes…
Curious how many folks even hear about these sorts of changes before they go live. I cancelled core after the cooldown change and continued lag issues, pretty sure this would have helped make that cancellation even easier, even though I don’t use apex boosts hardly at all. Like others have mentioned, the perceived value was just diminished by offering things I could hack, potentially in a single hack on a 7 day hack streak.
Absolutely this, if you want to take my money, give me more value and that likely means different things to different people. Ask the poke peeps why they have 3 to 6 different boxes to buy based on different play styles. Leave core alone, then add various core + variants with these experiments too see what clicks.....add value to add revenue!
My ideal kit would be around a $15 / mo price point including 2 to 3 BB (vr), 8 apex... yes I use them and it's fun to watch the numbers fly up, 4 frackers, and 1500 inventory slots and 5K CMU.
Maybe a builder version with KC and rare mod food for em, and dual R7 R8 deployment
Maybe even an attack version for less $$ with apex, Xmp, and US
Recon version that added more scans, drone movement, and portal subs.
But ALL as value adds, CORE Remains, core. Really the name implies you would build out from it right? And gutting it would be bad...
This change sucks. Why on Earth would you make this change? All of these items are trivial to get in the quantities given. The only benefit to CORE after this change is 500 extra inventory 🙄
Strong thumbs down on this one. Please listen to your community
1. The load out kit should have at least 1 premium item (by 1 I dint mean 1 of an item I mean 1 item with x amount) as it is paid for
2. Everything in there bar the inventory can now be hacked, so thats just a waste
3. Since the core came out people have been asking for customisable load out kits by selecting things at set values (for example, apex was useless to me, but I would have wanted 2 frakkers instead of thr 4 apex and that would have been the same price), yet this was ignored
4. This is coming off the back of the ludicrous decision to put the hack timer cooldown back, which was completely ignored for months. Honest feedback has been given on that and ignored, so people are not going to be happy that this is where you've started to reply
I'd imagine you won't find a consensus on which items should be part of the loadout. Different players have different play styles and prefer different items. Like apex for example, some people love them and to others they are useless.
I would also caution against a revolving door of changing items/loadouts. Every time you do that, many players will lose a useful item being rotated out with an item that is less useful and the outrage will follow.
Let players customize or offer several options of the same or more value. I personally would have been happy to trade 4 apex (10,000 CMU value) for 2 very rare battle beacons (10,000 CMU value).
I'd also endorse higher tier subscriptions. Inventory expansions will be your money maker. +1,000 inventory for $10, +2,000 for $20, etc. with customized loadouts or options to choose from.
Rotate a premium item. I love my VRBB. Apex can rotate because otherwise they get saved until 2x AP windows. The inventory space is needed in my box. Hackable stuff is meh, but still should be rotated. Knowing I'm getting a Jarvis/Ada is valuable. The question is how to get inventory to move that much faster.
I’m really glad to see the community expressing and voicing out Niantic product subscriptions “Core” is failing us all. 17 in total months I have been subs core due to “Apex” and reached the level 16 and recursed after 5 yrs. L12 atm, and sad apex is forever gone. In the small town I lived in and every other small town in the world, APEX is a MUST.!!! So dear Niantic…bring Apex back asap!!! Just saying…
How about polls or something before doing this. I mean overall all choices that are being made (cooldown, core change, rounded map edges) are all met with huge protest. Think about the impact; people are dropping off because of this!
We're already playing with diminished player counts, which just makes Ingress boring and stale. All this is going to have serious impacts that are too difficult to revert; once people drop the game and break hackstreaks, they won't be eager to come back.
@NianticBrian You should know by now that you'll never find a way to make everyone happy. (-:
You can certainly do better than what you have now, though. I think your best option is probably to create 3-5 predefined packs and allow subscribers to choose the pack they want. Each month when the subscription renews the user could be presented with a list of packs to choose from for that month. Maybe the options could be something like:
XM Boost Bundle (Apex boosts)
Destroyer Bundle (ITO-, VRHS, VRMH, fracker)
Builder Bundle (ITO+, Aegis Shield, VRS, fracker)
Beacon Bundle (Battle Beacons of some combo)
I'm sh00ting from the hip here in terms of specific combos, but those should serve as reasonable examples. Giving players the option to choose rewards that are tailored to their specific needs will give you the highest customer satisfaction, and also probably increase C.O.R.E. conversion.
Im not CORE (and never will be) but i think u should put in items in that are not hackable . people are paying money and it devaluates the value of a CORE subscription. (why not add a fracker for exemple)

It was linked to in the App. So if people didn't read the news post, that's not necessarily on Niantic.
Mess with my FTP PoGo? Okay... Just play less...
Mess with my subscription to a game I actually support? Okay, **** this. #teamunsubscribe

Just canceled my subscription
I canceled months ago because I wasn't playing enough to justify a subscription. This is definitely NOT incentive to return.

Were people really subscribing for Apex's? Not the 500 slots?
Sin apex... No veo porque pagar core... Bye...
I like this idea of having several loadout options that players can select from
I won't quit C.O.R.E., but for an agent who plays ingress every day, these official changes are rubbish.
Not me. I passed "Need AP at all" long ago.
Were frackers considered?
ITO EN mods going to be available for purchase?

I do like the idea of changing up the loadouts, tie them into whatever the upcoming challenge badge is or give a boost for whatever the next event is.
eg.
2x2 events = Apex's
Hack boost events = Frackers/ITO
New Kcap recipes = Kcaps and relevant items to feed them
Link badge = SBULS
Out of all the items in loadout kits, i often use Apex & VRBBs, the rest are just bonus. Wish theres Frackers and flip cards in the rotation pile...
I am keeping Core tho, mainly for inventory space anyway

rare kinetics should be sold in store that way u can buy as many as u need and not drown in them from hacks only
I really love my monthly apex. Use them all the time.
I can get the other kit easily. I enjoy the 500extra spaces, but thinking about the value now

Bye core.
BTW still waiting for recurse bonus...
Very Rare Battle Beacons every month.

Sure but you are taking away a thing I can not hack, only acquire for money and give me stuff that I can hack
