This will be the last reversals of temporary game changes added since early 2020. The following change will continue to remain in place:
- AP bonus for Capturing a Portal is 675 AP (added in 2022).
On First Saturday Event Style
FevGames is working on the future format of Ingress First Saturday that allows for a hybrid approach of virtual and in-person meetups.
On Ingress Mission Days
We have closed 2022 Mission Day applications and are working to review and confirm the list of 2022 Q4 Mission Days. We will open the application form for 2023 Mission Days soon.
We appreciate all the feedback and suggestions you’ve shared and continue to share in the Ingress Community Forum.
As always, please remember to be aware of your surroundings. We encourage players to follow local health and safety guidelines when playing Ingress (such as wearing masks and maintaining at least six feet/two meters of distance from other people). No global BB, event at all? 😳
I assume we will get a Halloween event, it’s just not added yet as October looks very empty.
Really wishing the Second Sunday format would change
Im just like WHAAAAAT at reading the schedule.
(But in a good way)
It could be trick, not treat.
New Agent Tutorial updates.
Remove L1-L3 XMPs from new Portal and Drone Hacks.
Change Portal decay rate under friendly Fields.
Replace Apex with Rare Kinetic Capsules in C.O.R.E. subscription Loadouts.
These changes will be more important than we think (*cough cough* decay *cough cough*). Also, finally no more C.O.R.E. Apex!
12 November: Epiphany Dawn Anomaly - Primary Site: Los Angeles, CA, USA (#EpiphanyDawn)
Details to be revealed in a separate announcement
I hope every detail (including the eventual agent deployed BB) will be revealed in the separate announcement, for Superposition many details were revealed in Q3 news. I mean... Will EMEA and LATAM get their chance to get the anomaly badge?
No challenges at all in Q4?
@Hosette it seems like niantic has heard your song! Maybe they finall my will remove apex from the core! Replacing with r-kinetic is just stupid, but at least you could recycle them 😅
I don't mind that the anomalies are back to being on ground only again, but I do mind that there isn't a site per anomaly series in each region. As of now, Europeans are pretty screwed regarding Epiphany Dawn
Please do one more global Battle Beacon for the medal and next time organize at least one event per continent. For me, travelling to LA or Japan is not doable at the moment.
Hmmm. "Primary Site" makes me wonder if there will be global opportunity to get the Anomaly medal again. Did they used to use the phrase "Primary Site" before the Beaconomalies?
I'd rather continue to receive Apexes rather than Kinetic capsules - Kinetic capsules are hackable items and Apex boosters are one of the most valuable items I receive from the C.O.R.E subscription (this is my personal opinion).
Apart from this, changes and events are welcome :)
And bring back badges for recharge rooms. The collective effort to farm keys and ship them across the continent deserves a medal more than BB ;)
That or make Apex hackable :)
Giving agents a choice of what premium item they want would be nice.
I'm thinking there's a good chance we see the debut of rare kinetic capsules in the store during the Year 10 event with 1km kinetics.
#this
If there wont'be the usual agent deployed Battle Beacons, then there should be Satellites in the other Regions.
Once again Latin America get's no ingress anomalies.
I really hope global BB are announced so that people here don't have to spend a small fortune to fly to LA for the anomaly.
#AlwaysASatellite #NeverAPrimary
They are really only valuable for folks who recurse. Once you hit 16 they just sit there, unless you recurse again.
I'm fully supportive to stop this BB bullscrap we had with anomalies - let's do real anomalies. But...
Second point you can solve two ways:
And now about C.O.R.E.
It's absolutelly disgusting that you change subscription rules during subscription time. You can add something but not remove. It's even illegal here in Europe. I'm not even super active right now and i already hacked 11 rare kinetic capsules, pretty sure you can easily hack 4 on daily basis if you are active agent - which means it's worthless comparing to APEX. Ask Spokko company how playerbase for their mobile game looks like after they start messing up with paid services and how much they had to RMA on apple store for changing them.
Don't went this path. Just don't.
that's what everyone thought about Germany until several weeks out.....
Speaking of, the Superposition pack is now in store, with K card,
Hopefully apex is optional.....
There will likely be BBs for the Anomaly, makes sense. Even though they haven't said so.
So no frackers coming in for CORE? @NianticThia seems like a missed opportunity.
The decay rate of same faction portals under a field sounds interesting, hopefully this is a reduction in decay rate.
Would like to know if the inverse is considered, opposition portals decay faster under their opponents control fields?
Need some method to have the opposition encouraged to get out and take their opponents fields down
Ironically, this is a topic that comes up in our communities as well.
Some remember that we had regional hexathlons. @NianticBrian @NianticThia are these expected to make a return?
Apex is one of the main benefits of the subscription. Removing it will make me think of how I can **** my inventory to the original 2000 items and cancel the subscription. The rest of the subscription items is just ****.
really??? I this the american way? The words "s t r i p" and "c r a p" are censored?
Changing the decay makes it really hard to make a efficient AP generator when you have to rely on portal decay. Not a fan
Oh i remember. I met my gf on hexathlon Miami ;) with being no. 1 in mods deployed competition (that's how you can hit on girls - "i'm no. 1 in this competition!" 🤣).
Just day after i covered whole Miami with beautiful green multilayer. I remember sponsoring some SWAG for hexa test in Bydgoszcz, Poland. Fun times.
But hexathlon was "always" (well - two times, because just after covid happened) possible to finish worldwide - located in every continent at once.
I don't understand your passion for taking people for idiots.
I refuse to pay for a subscription if it's just to get a bunch of stuff that's useless. The capsules are hackable. Some people don't even know what to do with them anymore, they have so many kinetic capsules. Let those who want to do ap with the apexes. That at least can be interesting for a vent or a recurse.
As for xmp and resonators, do you really take us for fools? I throw away 100 a day and that's going to be my reward for supporting niantic financially? You're going to fill my inventory with things to throw away because I couldn't do hack without it?
How is this going to help the new kinetic players? How does it make the game more dynamic? Apexes have at least this advantage for those who like it.
The return on time between 2 hacks is frankly a bad idea. Some people only know that...
Each announcement makes me feel more and more that you want to make the game easier to play alone and more complicated to play in a team. Each time, it's always more for niantic and less for the players.
We will never all agree but some changes are ridiculous. At pogo, you didn't take the extra distance from their range.
Make collector beacons for the subscription if that's all there is, instead of stuff that is already hackable not even very rare....
Look at wayfarer and abuse because you don't follow your own rules.
Make an intel worthy of the name, that also works without a computer, for a game that wants to be "nomadic", that's where it stands...
Fight against multi accounts and wintrade which spoils the game of those who are fair-play.
Niantic seem to have a knack for making the game worse.
First the cooldown, despite the backlash is going ahead. Some users are fervent on supporting this change, looking at their profiles they have a decent amount of AP, but seem to be long-term players, so their achievements seem to be very casual - which the change would suit. For people that are active and play more, the change has a negative effect; slows down gameplay, wastes time, etc. Constantly needing heat sinks is not viable as they have a limit (both in number of deployable mods and how many you can carry).
Secondly, the removal of the Apex in CORE is a terrible decision. Apex is very useful if you play actively, as it's a good way to get extra AP without even thinking about it. Is this change to appease one single person that has been clamoring for its removal or adjustment forever? Its removal strips away value from CORE and replaces it with easily hackable items (ie. common items). The only thing left of worth in CORE is the 500 bonus space and the (poor) inventory management through Intel.
CMU replacement might be a good alternative, that way people can spend it on what they want, but the CMU given needs to be much higher, otherwise there is no value for money with CORE.
We are paying customers, but the cashflow will certainly drop if the value of CORE and Ingress keeps going down.
I already have max kinetic running and spares to boot. Removing apex devalues Core.
I pay for C.O.R.E. because I want to support the game that I've been addicted to for almost a decade now. The extra inventory space is the biggest bonus for me, and I would still keep paying for C.O.R.E. if that was the only benefit.
Different people find different things in the loadout kit useful. For me Apex boosts are just cruft that builds up in my inventory, while other people love them. Kinetic capsules are freaking awesome, OTOH, because I can convert power cubes into more power that consumes less inventory space-- I can have 10 PC8s that are worth 80K XM, or five Hypercubes that are worth 264K XM. (Or ten PC4s that are worth 40K, or anything in between, but I rarely hack portals below P7.)
The right answer, of course, would be to give people a choice of loadouts because different people have different play styles and one size does not fit all.
CORE Loadouts. You'll never please everyone unless it's configurable by player.
Cooldown time. It only impacts dirty hacks. So why is it a big deal? Are there players out there actually hurting for gear? Most of us recycle xmp and rezos by the hundreds weekly. This is a return to how it was for years until pandemic hit.
Decay rate change. Up or down? If decay rate is increasing for friendly fields this basically discourages teams from trying to win cycles in their zone.
Permafields exist because the only score kept in the game is MU. Big MU and controlling your zone is how you "win". Punish us for doing that and you take a big step towards running off your remaining active players.
Want permafields down? Incent their destruction better. Make winning the cycle matter with tangible in game benefits for winning faction for next cycle. And/or let the fields have positive effects on friendly portals underneath and negative impacts on enemy portals.
Permafields are ignored for weeks at a time in many areas because winning a cycle doesn't do anything.
