It actually seems like the drop rate is high. Today I got two while hacking 4 L7 farm portals to burn out. Then picked up two more doing some more hacking in a portal dense area for 40 min or so.
One trick that's handy once you get a bunch of these cooking and can't remember which is doing what is; when you go to inventory and tap on a kinetic capsule it displays what the capsule is preparing. The thing is you can leave the window open and scroll through all your caps to see what they are making and how soon it will be done. Much easier than checking each cap separately.
One thing I really hope they address. Please please please let unused caps stack. Even if it's just the ones with 3 uses left, it's crazy inconvenient having a dozen or more spaces taken on the carousel.
Just a wording clarification here. Backpacks are inert accounts that don't deploy, just hold gear and dupe items in QCs.
If they're building portals its full on multi-accounting. Don't give them "weaker descriptions" and let them have a bit of "It's not so bad" from others. If you're playing on two accounts, its far far worse than the people who use their kids to hold items.
That's why QCaps are the problem though. The inert backpacks are still duping items at a rapid rate.
40 km will come quickly if you are running multiple kcaps at the same time. Will the 40 km cap for the kcaps cause agents to walk less?
It's a bit confusing in their wording, but apparently, you can run 5 "sets" of capsules each day. So the total per day at 8km per capsule is 35 capsules (7 x 5).
However, I don't know how they calculate a difference between that and running 1 capsule 35 times in a day.
Also, I would like to see RBB and VRBB a hackable item in the same fashion as these new capsules. It's been dumb to hide them behind a paywall at this point.

This challenge was while agents could only complete one kinetic capsule at a time, albeit at reduced distances of 2km or 4km depending on the program. Any future event based on kinetic capsule count would need to have much higher tiers now that we can craft up to 7 at a time.

So you never thought of the revenue potential when testing them out before us? Ouch.

This is the first non-Sponsored hackable item since May 2014 though, with the Capsule.
Wasn't ITO mods a sponsored item from ITO-EN tea?
It was. But it's the latest hackable item, not 2016.
The first were Ultra strikes, from the sponsorship with Motorola though. If memory serves me.

So i can create lvl 8 burster with that?
I drove about 35 miles in total that day.
Wondering if these are too overpowered.

Only 1 hack very mutch but only get 1 Kinetic Capsule. Hope it resolve in latest update we get soon.
I use the Kinetic Capsule 2 times but Ingress Prime view i have 3 left. Hope @NianticBrian resolve the bug soon

Interesting, kinetic capsules only come as singles, even when you get two. I have also seen this with regular caps. I assume same is true for quantum.

Drop rates suggest these are now way beyond rare or even very rare. Looking more similar to virus drop rates.

Only got 1 Rare Kinetic Capsule from one hack. I don't really care if I get it or not since it was designed for lower-level players.
I assume its because capsules are items with unique IDS (that are visible to us).

The Kinetic capsules need a separate category in the inventory from regular and quantum capsules. Lumping all together as capsules is not helpful.
If I wish to find things in my regular capsules, I now have to scroll past many kinetic capsules before I get to my regular capsules of stored items.
This was before adventure sync and reintroduced for earth week.
If anything, something like this could be done again with AS factored in
