Hi niantic,
i am Mr.Bang in game and i am recently came back to play in Milan (IT) since years without even downloaded the app.
i've noticed that the amount of fake gps player is bigger then even and i have a working suggestion.
for 3 weeks over 6 fake gps played in our cell and they always used viruses.
Long story short they get lv4-5, they redeem the ingress code with the virus inside and then fly over the portal and use it.
i red around the internet that this is the main fake gps/flyers attacking procedure.
my suggestion is to make that all the codes (or at least the one with viruses) are not redeemable until you reach lv.8.
i think this way the flyers will get discutaged to make every fake account at lv.8 every time they want to attack illegitimately.
i hope you will consider my humble suggestion.

Generally the virus codes are either limited availability (and Fully Redeemed quickly) or bought Load out cards. It's only this weekend and the previous Superposition weekend, when the Viruses were purchasable in the store that this sort of thing was possible.
So this isn't a regular issue, just one that Niantic made a bad call on and this is the result. No need to limit codes to level 8, and the more regular codes are very useful for low level agents early on, especially in rural areas.
I suggest you to check again :) i can redeem any passcode i want and my faction suggested me and others to use them to have full inv with 4-5 codes and there's almost 200

Find 8 agents and use lvl8 anchors problem sol...shifted.... bad actors would just aim for higher accounts...

but you can redeem them them even at level 5 or 4 without any restriction.
if niantic uses a limit of some sort for passcodes, flyers would be disguraged to play that easly.
There still are alive 2019-2020 passcodes (with viruses too,three for ada and three for jarvis),why? Ofc there is a list of "almost forever" ones,but i think current alive passcodes list should be trimmed alot. And about kamikaze attacks,i think there should be two things:
1) daily passcode limit,like in intel.
2) how about virus use restriction,for example three days (not sure,it should be well-chosen time) since account was made.
Back in 2018, we got all the AP removed from passcodes. Some people might remember a massive dump of reissued codes around the Camp Navarro weekend then. Spoofers were using the AP on the forever passcodes to get to level 3 or so, before destroying or flipping distant portals.
If there are forever codes with more than just Level Restricted gear, they definitely should be expired. Flipcards should never be allowed to have unlimited redeems.

Fakes are now farming accounts in order to farm ada with codes with each one and then go in bigger field to break everything....
