What’s your opinion about the red fraction?

It's time for a fraction to emerge, tell me what the correct name would be for the red fraction.

Many agents used to ask for a third (Red) faction years ago but NIA never did anything, doubt they would do it now.

This has been brought up numerous times over the years. Never made sense when it first was brought up and even less sense now. Not enough players to even consider it.

As others have said it’s been mentioned a few times. Back in the day we had these AMA things every so often.

The time for a 3rd player faction, came and went in 2013

A NPC faction might be possible.

But honestly, even that is unlikely.

Too many new features, and bugs to fix now that the dev team need to work on

Call her Vallor, which would make poor Ingress look even more like Pokémon.

Have you ever wondered if it's the same "geniuses" who are screaming? They shout loudly, so it seems like there are a lot of them.

Make the NIA operated accounts Red Faction

  • It really isn't time for a player involved additional opponent. The majority of people eager to abandon their team for another, are not the people you want to team up with. Three team games generally devolve into two teams and a whipping boy. The third team is usually destroyed by an alliance of the two greater teams before they then duke it out.

A third team is not the solution that you don't like the people you play with. It's also not a great driver for activity, especially in Ingress. It's greatest effect would be a short term opportunity for trolling former teammates.

    However...

To generate the "shake things up", there's a better option, Redfection.

An AI opponent who will never get bored, will never cheat, will never play to troll you.

The one time a Rick roll would be appropriate. 😂

Not a fan of fractions tbh, more of a decimal kinda guy.

Hope we never get red team. Onlu blue and green for Ingress Prime.

  • I would recurse and change faction if a red faction was launched. For faction name I would vote for either oppression or empowerment.

    The lone introvert faction :))

+ They will be able to collect missions, participate in FS, dial AP, etc.

+ They can link mindlessly and stupidly,

+ They can link through places blocked by other teams' links :)

    - Their MJ doesn't go in the team count and doesn't show up anywhere

    - Their portals go down in an hour.

    - Their links can be crossed, just like they can :)

    - In the scanner you can turn off the visibility of red links :)))

And for the rest of the NORMAL agents to return everything to ingress as it was - no idiotic links under the fields, etc. :)

    Here's another thought!

All up to 8th lvl will be red with an indication of the color they will turn into after reaching the 8th lvl. And their stupid links as well will not interfere with the rest of the agents :)

Another great anti-cheat system by the way for spoofers, which are created to block OPS of normal agents :)

Why would you be playing Ingress then?

It sound like you just want Pikmin Bloom or something like that.

It's a roundabout way of him saying he's can't play in Russia

  • VaskinCallVaskinCall ✭✭✭✭

What does this have to do with the Russian Federation? :))

If you look at the threads about spoofing, you'll see that the problem has been here for a long time. I'm even somewhat glad that the game was cut off in our country. Because of dozens of small level spoofing accounts we couldn't play OPS and play normally anymore.

If Niantic had really decided to introduce a red faction, the idea of up to 8th level agents playing in a separate plane that doesn't interfere and doesn't touch the rest of the game, imho would have solved this problem a lot. And beginners would be motivated sooner to start playing together with the rest of the agents :)

  • GreenVamGreenVam ✭✭✭✭✭

Relax. Game development is becoming more expensive, so the programmer has to pay extra for each new feature. And the Niantics have always had a hard time with it. So there will be no third faction, there will be no exogenous creatures either, there will be no new types of items that would change the gameplay either. Everything will be as it is, to the delight of lovers of green and blue triangles.

By the way, if your hand reaches for the dislike button, write to me what exactly you disagree with.

  • What does this have to do with the Russian Federation? :))

I made no statement on that.

The whole point of Ingress is that it's a team vs team game. Most players who have no opposition... quit. They get bored because there's nothing to do.

Splitting the playerbase into even smaller divisions would destroy the game even more. That's why the only real solution is adding an AI opposition that doesn't get bored.

  • VaskinCallVaskinCall ✭✭✭✭

These are the agents who want to play in the team, and will try to quickly get lvl8

    See:

    1. the agent puts the scanner.

    2. Selects a faction.

    3. Becomes red.

    4. Gets his 8th level and fully joins the chosen faction

If the agent is not a team player and does not want to join the team, then let him continue and play alone among the same singles in a separate plane without joining the faction)

But in general, I agree with Greenwald here, and even more agree with those who say that the third faction is not needed at all, not AI, not red, no :))

Letting players level up "privately" would just help bots make L8 accounts faster. There are no upsides to this for the game as a whole.

  • BreenzyBreenzy ✭✭✭✭

An AI "faction" would be fun. The closest we got was when all the portals stopped making XM due to the virus.

We would always have E vs R, but a common threat would add another level of gameplay, opportunity for new stat badges (destroy X amount of "red portals"), a new dimension to local play (any "red" portals with a blocking link?) Would also be good for players in towns with no opposing faction.

Like Horde vs Alliance in WoW.

  • AkakunAkakun ✭✭✭

Pokemon GO has Team Rocket, we could have an AI faction like that. If handled correctly, would be a good addition to the game.
