I've always thought of it more as exploitation farming. "It was so sweet of you to build these high-level portals for me so that I could farm them for the gear I need to smash them."
And accidents I think, I've seen my enemy from the neighborhood driving while looking at her phone attacking while she was passing by, that's dangerous.
@Otrera35 I assume you are equally critical of people spending $$$ for the fossil fuel to travel to Munich for the anomaly, mission days, and other events?
All it did for me was make it clear how much of an improvement increasing deploy rate to 2 x R7 did to gameplay while removing it made it clear how much it sucked originally unaware without anything to compare it too at the time.
For those of you that suggest we need to recruit new players, I'm curious: how do you explain them that you need three people to build something that a single player can take down at will? I'm obviously talking about P7s, the P8 case is just nuts.
And for those that so strongly defend the return to single R7s, why do you feel the need for the game to be so terribly unbalanced? Personally it has considerably worsened the game experience for me (I play by myself, so now I not only have less resources per hack but also less useful), so much so that I haven't thrown a single link since the announcement.
Most of the local hard-core players stopped playing before the pandemic hit, they got tired of the spoofers but also of the week-long hiatus waiting for the farm to be upgraded and then smashed in less than ten minutes by the regular frog. It might be fun for a while, till it's not.

Some comments mention "dirty farming". What does it mean?
Farming portals of the opposing faction. (If you're RES, then farming ENL portals. And vice versa.)
Getting your hands dirty by hacking enemy portals

Yeah right, pay more $$$ for the fossil fuel to smash farms out there. This game causes more carbon footprints than other games out there.

You brought another disadvantage while playing this game. Thanks.
You had 10 years to argue about this.
