Crowdfunding idea
Target: equal to 1 hour of @NianticThia or @NianticBrian 's wage
Then transfer that to them and they spend 1 hour on forums and in IUENG group chat talking to people🤔
It's about as stupid essentially as this
Like the kid that buys an hour of their father's working time to be with them
but if nothing works to make Ingress team communicate with people, maybe that can?
Why are we still here? Just to suffer?

Not sure why Niantic employees would be willing to answer questions for money - when they are used to get paid for doing nothing
I've been wondering what a person on a position called "Community Specialist" can do 8 hours a day, that it almost isn't visible to the community of which they are specialist.
Agreed. Its now a week since we were told there would be a Munich announcement update soon.
I also am amazed someone working is so invisible in that role.
I have now given up completely on them improving.
So how much of your job with programming involves facing or speaking to customers?
Can't speak for 1Valdis but ours do on a weekly basis for cases escalated from support.
As little as I can get away with.
And what can they tell us interesting? Here sits Brian and against him I or one of you. And we ask him questions:
1. Brian, why are there glitches when charging portals, and why are they not being repaired?
2. Why is there no new content in the game? When will the next big update be?
3. Why don't you want to do a normal localization of your application together with the community?
Oh... I have a lot to ask. Besides.
And what will he tell me in response?
Or not, I'll just ask them just one question, what have you been doing for more than two years? In other games, we see new game seasons, aggressive monetization, a lot of content, a story, and so on. And we have this:
What will he answer me? I'm more than sure he has nothing to say.
internal meetings perhaps ? that could explain why we dont hear so much as outsiders.
The mind boggles at what could be discussed that takes so much time with so little output.
At my previous programming job with an EHR vendor, we were required to spend 8-12(?) days a year on-site at our customers, observing and speaking with the users of our software. We were also expected to participate in calls with customers if our technical support staff requested it as part of resolving issues.
That said, I'm not sure my experience is particularly relevant to what one should expect from Niantic. I can't just decide one day to practice medicine myself; Niantic's developers can easily play Ingress themselves. An EHR is a complex piece of software where it's not always agreed upon how it should work; the bugs reported here often just need to be resolved in the obvious way.
They are niantic employees, for sure they are doing niantic work, not specifically for ingress maybe?
What would you think is the going rate for their hourly wage? Like a hall park figure? I imagine they’re paid salary wise, so no overtime and such.
It's just it's baffling for someone to comment on someone's job when he has not understood the job title. Like if you want to poke at the employee's, make it Brian as he has some insight on how these battle modes function or he has some involvement on the game design.
We were commenting on developers customer face time in general? (Specifically, not Niantic).
Thia isn't a developer...
****, re-read the thread.
Wait I got a better idea
What were you trying to accomplish here @1valdis?
