I agree that disincentivising BAFs is bad. BAFs (and other large scale ops) is what make ingress great.
It's the persistence of those links/fields what kills local play.
Any type of scoring mechanic will always favor those that spend more time than their opponents. Changing it will only change how the winners win, not who wins.
I mean, scoring is based on cycles, so the winner for the cycle based on most improvement wins.
The big issue with this is:
1st Cycle - Team A BAFS 1MU - Team B do nothing. Team A win the cycle.
2nd Cycle - Team A's BAF is killed That's minus a million MU, then they add 100K of extra fields. Team B does nothing but **** the BAF, they win by -900K on A's score.
With Quantum Capsules, keys are no longer "precious". i guarantee every testosterone driven BAF fielder and friends have QCs full of keys to their unicorns.
and the longer the BAF stays up, the more keys they'll have for their rethrows...
QC duplication of keys is OP and needs to be nerfed.
Difference between legit and artificial who's taking stuff down. Flipcard is often used to reset by person who controls field because field got gutted to the point that it is more a problem to keep up.
If you're flipping your own team's MU, it shouldn't count. And it's the flaw with this concept, that a team that's too successful would have to alternate wins if the other team isn't taking their stuff down, by flipping their own MU.
@Perringaiden says, "If you're flipping your own team's MU, it shouldn't count."
What are you saying that it shouldn't count for? Certainly flipping your own faction's field down shouldn't count for enemy MU destroyed since it's not enemy MU.
Destroying the other faction's field with a flipcard destroys the MU just as effectively as doing it with bursters.

I like the score differential idea

I would say all quantums should sunset. It's an item that's being abused by the multi accounters. Nerf them all.
So what, still have to travel to put the field back up.
This is a strategy game after all
I would be in favor of keys duping at a much lower rate. I don't think keys should be prevented from duping entirely.
With or without flupcards???
@Mirthmaker Why would flipcards matter? If I take down a field with a flipcard I'm still destroying that MU.

They don't have to travel as much with the QCs duping keys continuously.
All they need to do now to rethrow is travel to the least difficult portal, and keep keys for the others portals in QCs.
