Portal nomination result was duplicated but doesn’t exist
in Report a Bug
I submitted a portal, got it approved the last days but wasn’t uploaded due to the bug that was active where new portals wasn’t created.
So I submitted it again and I got the result “Duplicate”. The candidate is not a portal in Ingress or a Pokestop in Pokémon Go.
I’ve also noted that when I review in Wayfarer, I can see Wayspots in the duplicate list that doesn’t exist in Ingress or Pokémon Go. Does anybody know why this occurs?

The sync is broken for new portals
I thought they fixed it?
If a portal is accepted within 20 meters of another one, it won't show up in Ingress, but will be added to the Niantic Lightship database. That database are the Wayspots you see on Wayfarer, and at the moment, there is no way to see those "Lightship-only" POIs in Ingress. When nominating via PoGo however, you'll see all POIs, even those that don't appear in any game.
It is likely that your portal was within 20m of another and was therefore added to Lightship only. Your second nomination was then correctly duplicated to the first nomination that can be seen via Lightship.
Thanks for the clarification. What if portal is removed and my submitted nomination is no longer 20m close to an existing Wayspot, will it appear in Ingress?
I do not believe so, no. The portal that is missing itself needs some sort of update to queue another sync. If you haven't placed it 100% on the exact location, you can ask Niantic to move it the one or two meters to the corret location via the Wayfarer support bot (as you can't do it via a game), which should queue up the portal for another sync and have it appear if no portals are within 20m range anymore.
Don't remove or move the original portal if everything is fine with it though. In that case, it's sadly just bad luck that your portal will not go online.
