scanner lag when destroying portals
in General
go to an enemy portal with links and fields. attack it. note there are several seconds after the portal goes gray before the attached links and fields disappear.
this leads some newb players to continue attacking even after the portal drops. this is not helped by the low contrast difference between "gray" and "blue". (a gray portal looks a lot like a blue portal, especially when covered by blue links and fields)
this could be handled client side. if the client sees a portal (defined by lat/lon) go gray, all links/fields with the same anchors (lat/lon) should disappear.

I often Ingress with my husband. One of us will see a portal go grey long before it shows on the other scanner. It's game etiquette to give a running commentary. "Mod off... Resonator off... Fields down... It's grey." Sometimes I try to watch both scanners. Weird how different they are, at the same location with the same carrier.
The same delay was in the redacted scanner. Links/fields go down once the portal has less than 3 resos.
It's 'eventual consistency'. Given enough time, all updates will be distributed to all clients.
At least in the [REDACTED] scanner, there was enough contrast to tell the difference between a gray portal and a blue portal.
That is no longer the case.
We def need a "LAUGH" reaction here in the forums.
Scanner lag? Never heard of it...
