Did not get credit for a Battle Beacon victory!

I deployed a rare BB on a portal, waited the 10 minutes then deployed 8 level one reso’s. Upgraded the other agents reso’s at each of the 3 minute marks and at the end was able to get extra gear that became available from completion of the battle. However I was never given credit for completing event. The agent that was playing with me on the same portal got credit for completing! What happened??

Your mistake was capturing before beacon....
Right, you need to deploy the beacon and then capture or put your Resonators, just upgrading your own resonators will not count as participation
You can see from the screenshots that the BB was put on 10 minutes before the capture.
