With the newest update, opening the inventory sends you back to the keys if you had them open when closing out of the menu. You should be able to just get back to the inventory by tapping "Items" in the bottom left.
If that's not the case, could you share a screen recording so Niantic can figure out what is wrong?
I can’t see why this would be useful. Maybe if you want to drop keys one by one? I don’t know, but if multiple people open up tickets about something, question the design decision.
This is flagged as intended/not a bug because, well, it's working as intended as of 2.85 but keeping it open for constructive conversations and feedback.
lol - I have no idea what that is and am afraid to Google it but yeah, my fingers and brain didn't keep up with each other in that post. (I'll edit it.)

Your phone is too old, get a newer one.
Is this what you're seeing?

Niantic, if multiple people submit a bug report after a 'fix', maybe revisit the fix? :/
well ujust need to click down the buttom to get back to inventory buts its annoying.. who asked for this feature ??
It takes some re-wiring of muscle memory, but I've found it to be useful once I got used to it.
I don’t know, I’ve had the update since day one and it’s still annoying the heck out of me.

At least make it a preference.
