After the Year 9 event ends, the Ingress Year 9 medal will be awarded to all Agents who’ve earned more than 0 AP between 15 November 2020 to 29 November, 2021
No minimum level as usual? Will the tiers be different this year?
I must say I liked the concept of having an event with two parts, six months apart. Because I really don't like having events during the winter when it's sub-zero outside. Unless it's a drone event. A drone event would be nice during the winter.
Also hoping to have the Sakura medals back for the spring, so I can buy the other two. 😀
@NianticOfficial Since there are no challenges for the remainder of the year, bring back round 3 of the Optima Kinetic Capsule challenge before the year ends.
That's the thing, it's not out of the question to think that we'll see in-person MDs within the next year (perhaps even within months), at least in some parts of the world. So in that case, it doesn't make sense to start a new 3 year badge (if it is modeled similarly to IFS) for Second Sunday.
You know that this is like a slap in the face (or a kick in the head) to all those agents that travelled to 20 or more cities to get the black mission day medal?
Why can't you run one event in Q1, Q2, Q3 and Q4?
With this strategy medals are just a common thing everyone has, you could as well bring back MUFG capsules and dublicate VR items.
Physics teacher here. If we're going to call it kinetic energy could we please consider measuring it in joules, BTU, calories, milliwatt-hours or some other unit of energy, rather than km? "Kinetic energy distance" hurts my brain.
There is no more Incentive to travel to another city - have a look at the city, see something new - when you already have your badge, gained at home on your sofa.
Hosting a Mission Day is hard work.
At least MD @ home and FS @ home should have gotten a separate badge to not mix it with the real ones.
The mission tiles on our profiles show our work. Nobody is taking away the 20+ rows of official MD missions off your profile, or canceling the memories made during all those trips. If you're in the business of judging whether or not others "earned" it, all their work will be shown in the mission tiles and you can decide for yourself.
It's WAY easier than it used to be! Xfac and community involvement are optional. No manning a table for check-in and check-out. There's still a lot to do, and we need people passionate about doing them.
For second sunday, its any 6 unique missions like we did in September, or Unique Missions, (meaning i haven't done before? ) ie spec ops stat must increase by 6 in that timeframe?

Half of us have a date PRIOR to Nov. 15 and the top line was NOT crystal clear.
Otherwise, cautiously optimistic about small goals by year end
Will any 6 unique Ingress missions in the Second Sunday requirements include previously completed missions?
U can organize in person FS, as long u follow the security measures of your country...
That's up to you, nobody forces you to participate Second Sunday 🤷🏼♂️
Yes u just cant do 1 mission 6 times obvious.
Does this mean MD Missions or ANY missions?
No story based event's.
Hoping that the global challenges will be good.
The Halloween event is the same as last year. But will we we see some Flair within I

Glad to see at least a road map of events until the end of the year.

Bad move.

(Perhaps "kinetic capsule distance"??)
Exactly.

All of the events have hashtags! For once, my constant complaints didn't fall on deaf ears!
@1valdis @chunkee @Chicken3gg @supastag Please go ahead and create Mission Day missions! If you each build 18 qualifying missions (and badges) for 2-3 cities, it'll go a long way toward resuming in-person Mission Days. Here are the guidelines, from January 2020: https://niantic.helpshift.com/a/ingress/?s=ingress-events&f=guidelines-for-hosting-an-official-mission-day-in-your-city&l=zh&p=web

Thanks
Buddy, I created and hosted 2 Mission Days already
Any missions, as long as you do 6 different ones.
They can be ones you've done in the past.
Not too shabby, thanks!
could we maybe have portal decay rate reduced for 20th Dec-3rd Jan?
cheers
This has always been the case, I can’t see them not doing it all of a sudden..
These are exciting to me too!!
Completing any 6 unique Ingress Missions will increase your Mission Day medal by 1 count
Thank you for making Mission Day accessible to rural and/or low-income communities!
There seems to be a misunderstanding here.
Second Sunday events actually involve movement - they cannot be done by sitting "on your sofa".
Why a reduced portal decay rate then?
