Black text on a white background is just, IMO, blinding. I think it'd be easier on the eyes having white text on a dark grey background. Just a thought.
Have you tried learning about your settings? You can turn the brightness - and the whiteness I guess - down. I'd prefer a forum more "in theme" with the game as well (kinda dark and cyberpunk or something) but I'm somewhat super-critical.
