Ingress Player Email Update
Hi Agents,
On Thursday, 23 September at 1000 UTC-7 (10AM PT), we’ll be pushing a small change that will update the email address associated with your Niantic Account to the email address most recently connected to your Ingress account the next time you log into Ingress.
Please note this will only impact you if you’ve ever changed the email address associated with your Ingress account. This will not change the way you sign into the Ingress app.
What does this impact? After the change goes live and you’ve signed into your Ingress account:
- The email address you use to sign into Intel Map will be whatever email address you’ve most recently added to your Ingress account.
- Emails sent to you from Niantic, such as Portal attack notifications, the Ingress monthly newsletter, and confirmation of Missions received, will now go to the email address you’ve most recently added to your Ingress account.
Once this change goes live, if you have any trouble signing into Intel Map or the Mission Authoring Tool, please contact our Ops Team via your Scanner. If you’re unable to sign into the Scanner, please visit https://ingress.com/support > Troubleshooting > Help with Sign-in Issues.

@NianticThia Maybe you could help me with this, please? I just want to be able to log into intel with my account again. The last ticket number I submitted to support was: #13449982
I suspect and hope this update will fix intel for you....
I sure hope it doesn't break intel or wayfarer for me, accounts and emails currently don't match, but atleast I can login everywhere and everything counts... t-15hrs till we find out I guess....
I'm excited. Hopefully it won't go wrong! I finally got my account back. Please don't make any mistakes!
So? For me, the problem with INTEL has not changed... still i can't login.
Everything still works for me, I'm very happy. I thought you were breaking something. 🙈

The team has confirmed the change is now in place.
@Robert4444 - can you log into Ingress first now that the update was pushed and then try logging into intel and let me know?
@Tenkterra - can you do the same and let me know if all is still good for you?
unfortunately, no change. I logged out and logged into the game, cleared cookies. intel is still unavailable.
I just logged out for a test and then logged in again, everything works fine, as before. I don't notice any change - and I'm happy about that. 😁
If you are interested in getting in contact with players who cannot access their account or Intel due to such problems, please write to me at Telegram, I can then add you to a small group.

I recommend joining the Telegram group Tenkterra mentioned. People been having these issues for way too long.
No luck either, have tried both Google and Facebook and still get ‘Account not found’ for Intel - scanner, forums, wayfarer and mission authoring tool all work, just not Intel.
Hi, no change, Intel is still unavailable. If it helps, the agent name who is not able to log into Intel that I said in the other post is lynniclaranhann.
Likewise. Intel still gives me 'Account not found.'
@NianticThia A fellow player asked me to tell you that she does not have access to the Intel and the forum. She needs help. Her account name is @Sternenputzi, she can also be reached at Telegram under the same name.
Incidentally, I wrote to you at Telegram. The number of people in my Telegram group with login problems and lack of access to Intel is increasing. If you want to help, join the group and listen to the problems there, we already have XMAmbassadors and Vanguards in the group. But the problems have existed for months and there is simply no solution.
Thanks for the feedback all - I'm chugging through this and a few other things. I was hopeful this update might fix some folks but seems like no :(
I'll try to find out next steps.
@NianticThia sounds to me like you need to ask Brian and the others for an assistant to help your backlog.
Just dont burn out whatever you do.

The player @Sternenputzi asks me to announce her wish here again, since as before no one has contacted her to take care of her problem. She has not been able to access the Intel map and the forum for months. She wants her account to be manually linked to a different email address in the hope that this will solve her problem. Please help her! @NianticThia

Hi Thia, good to have you on board Ingress. Welcome.
As I've reported in the thread below already months back, this is not a new issue, but has happened to others before, and to myself after an Ingress update in July. Suddenly the account is not recognized on Intel, while the very same gmail still works on all other Ingress sites/apps. And I didn't change any email/login or anything else before the issue. Same old...
Endless conversations with support resulting in nothing. Only alternative solution to continue to play was starting a second account - which I refuse - hence I've had to stop playing and consequentely cancelled my core. After being part of Ingress since 2013, this doesn't feel good...
Here is one question support won't give me an answer to: Is it not possible to manually assign an email address to Intel for support?
While I'm aware support/devs seem clueless to why this issue is occuring, how come it can't be manually solved for each individual?
Surely this must be solveble...
