Hi Agents!
I'd like to introduce you to someone who is going to quickly become my new BFF (Best Friend Forever) - NianticTintino.
While he won't make an appearance over here in the ING forums anytime soon, I want to be sure Agents are aware he exists and can be found on the Wayfarer Community engaging with players across all Niantic games regarding nominations, eligibility criteria, and more!

We all sincerely hope that this manager, unlike the Ingress community manager, will still maintain a dialogue with users.
I already said a hello on the Wayfarer forums and tagged you in far too many threads over on the Wayfarer Forums Tintino! Hope you and Thia work well together and that you get a similar position/person appointed for the eventual Niantic Pokémon GO forums, that the Wayfarer forums make it clear is very needed (much like the Wayfarer forums were borne from the amount of Wayfarer queries here).

So tonight after work, I took NianticTintino out to play some Ingress. While he had started playing previously, I wanted to answer any questions he had and find out what may be still be confusing. I also told him about glyph hacking so he could learn on single sequences before he has to learn on 4 and 5 glyph sequences like I did.😅
The most important thing I wanted to show him was how Portal placement can impact game strategy. With where we were, I showed him as best I could how far bursters can/can't reach, whether you can access a Portal or not, and I showed him some of the big fields that could be seen on Intel.
He's not a high level so I didn't want to overwhelm him, but I'm hoping he will love the game as much as we do.
He, in return, got me on my first electric scooter and I ended up on my **** in a rose **** next to the ball park. I'm now covered in thorns. 🤣 (I'm totally fine.)
That being said, I encouraged him to play around where he lives to level up: cap portals, make fields, maybe try a mission or two (I did mention banners!), and to pay attention to the placement of Portals that may be hard to reach.
Keeping in mind I don't want to overwhelm him, what types of things should I show him on our next outing? I hope to show him at least different types of fielding depending on how things look where we play.

Don't overwhelm him too much. We might end up losing him to the pogo!
This is really nice to see. I wonder if HPWULola will also try and get you both to play Harry Potter: Wizards Unite now too.
Maybe lesson two/trip two can be effective fielding.
Excited that Tintino is getting into Ingress! You'll have to take him to a First Saturday or a Second Sunday!
Finding different missions to do helped me learn more about the finer details about my city than I would have ever known otherwise.
Definitely First Saturday! Rochester, NY has a fine one you might wish to join. 😁
Decoding the FS passcode puzzle is a great way to learn about an area and its portals. Puzzle a Day might be a fun option to explore!

Well then @NianticThia get the apps installed and randomly open them and create an account just to look at how different the 3 games play.
It's the same map in theory but mostly different portals/gym/pokestops/greenhouses/fortresses/Inns etc..and while I didn't want to get into POGO I started with HPWU a month after it was released then I started thinking about the POI Placements which then led me onto Ingress and somehow I ended up on POGO when one of the local players quizzed me "why are you sat at this location,what are you playing"
The rest is now history as FOR NOW I'm a POGO Player.

In some areas, yes. I would hope that the Niantic staff have early access.
It's the same thing as "Catan" then just like a beta where only certain regions can get to test it.

Transformers and Pikmin are due out this year.
As for Catan, who knows. CatanDominik (oh, get him in playing the games with you, Tintino and HPWULola too as well as Reboot (I don’t know the name of the Pikmin Community Specialist) from Transformers) has been asked a few times and doesn’t have further info to share as yet.
And to think there's so many of us dedicated players in different regions that don't get to beta test....oh well...pikmin is one I haven't heard of.
@NianticThia I loved your candid comment the other day about delayed Portal syncs and the issues we've been having, and it was really fun to read your post about using taking or Wayfarer Community Specialist, Tintino, out to play!

I do play both games; I started playing PoGO first before I found Ingress. I played HPWU from release until sometime in the last year or so.
No Transformers or Pikmin for me yet... I'm sure I'll get there :)
